When we arrived, I stood at the desk for 7 minutes, yes I looked, while the desk attendant was on the phone with someone that was making a reservation. Not once during that time did she even look up and acknowledge me. Not once. Not to mention what should have been done is to put that person on hold and take care of the one in front of you. Basic customer service. We eventually checked in and went to our room. As my wife was going to lay the baby on the bed, she noticed several blood spots on the comforter. I called to the desk and she said she would move me to another room. Not an apology for that or even act surprised. So I had to go back down to the desk and get another key. We switched rooms and the AC wasn’t working. I called down again and she said to check the wall unit to make sure it was on. I told her there was no wall unit just the thermostat. She then said she needed to turn the unit on from her end. It then started working. We had a wedding to go to and later that evening I was in the bathroom. I looked down and there was a clump of hair on the floor. Pictures are here. How can the cleaning crew not see that as it was right by the counter leg. And no it wasn’t either of ours. So blood on the comforter in one room, and now hair on the floor in the bathroom of another. How clean is this hotel??? Why aren’t guests acknowledged when they walk in??? When we left this morning there was NO ONE attending the desk? I brought our luggage down on a cart. Went out to get the car. Loaded it up. Took the cart back in. Waited in wife and baby to come down. They did and I helped them in the car. All during this time there was no one at the desk.

I was so unimpressed and humiliated, by the time I left this hotel. The electricity went out at 2 AM, which was not their fault. And that did not upset me. But as a disabled person.I asked india for help down the stairs.Because I couldn't get my wheelchair and two bags down alone.I needed help.I could do the stairs and she hung the phone up on me. All I needed was HELP! I can hop down stairs on my own. I asked India for help down the stairs. Because I couldn't get my wheelchair and 2 bags down alone. I needed help i said . I could do the stairs and she HUNG the phone up on ME. LEFT ME ON THE SECOND FLOOR STRANDED. I was forced to ask people on the 2nd floor to please go downstairs. And ask someone to come up to help me down. She left me there for 2 and 1/2 hours. Stranded with no electricity. Then, once I got through on the line and she actually picked up, India was so disrespectful on the phone. She asked me if I could walk. I responded, yes, ma'am. I can walk. I just can't get down the stairs with my wheelchair. And 2 bags and my purse, could you help me? She sent no one!!!! It was so disappointing to see one human treat another human-like that. So DISAPPOINTING 😞 😢 The property manager did give me a refund. Which is what I had asked for and an apology. No, one needs to be in trouble. People just need to be properly trained!! I do think it was fair for them to acknowledge the problem which they did. And the refund, which they did thank you.

Most of the staff were helpful. One of the ladies at check-in was not... Location here is good if you're going to be in the McKinney / Allen / Plano area. The room... Really needed some TLC. I understand it's not a 5 star luxury hotel, but that doesn't mean there should be other people's hair in the shower, paint needing to be put down, faucets not secured to countertops, etc. The vent cover was showing signs of either rust or mold, see picture. So, the people are mostly helpful, the location is good, but the room needed a bit of help if it was going to be a place I'd consider staying again. As is, I probably wouldn't stay here again.

We have been staying at this Holiday Inn for the last 6 years when we visit family in McKinney usually a week at a time. We will likely stay somewhere else until the hotel gets some needed updates.

One elevator was out of service the entire time of our stay which added to already long waits for using it and while riding it. Our family requested a room away from the elevator and when we got off at the third floor, the wallpaper in the elevator area was peeling from the wall with clear signs of mold along the bottom quarter facing the elevator doors. On our fourth day of the stay, we were stopped on our way down on the third floor and someone had put wallpaper back up over the moldy spots so I have no clue if it was treated or just covered to hide from view.

The first room we got was right off the elevator lobby so back downstairs to the front desk. Staff was very helpful in getting us into a different room well away from the elevators and the manager was helping out housekeeping and was cleaning our room before we got into it.

The room was a double queen and the entry looks to have been replaced with laminate but the rest of the room was old, grungy carpet. One trip to the bathroom barefoot on that carpet and it was making sure socks or flip flops were on the rest of the time because it felt sticky and had no cushion left. We had to rearrange sleeping order on the bed after a couple of nights as one of the mattresses had a spot that my son and I kept rolling into each other. The second mattress was much better but my wife complained that she would find herself in the low spot on the first mattress as well. Our refrigerator had a completely iced over icebox and we were afraid to keep drinks in it because of a musty smell.

On one hand, it was nice to have an actual bathtub for our kid to take a bath in rather than a shower only but this too was pretty outdated. The caulk around the tub was peeling away in spots and had open cracks in the tile, the overflow drain cover would repeatedly fall off and not cover the drain, and the temperature was hard to regulate if you were taking a shower. With the cloth shower curtain, there were spots of mold that looked like they had attempted to be treated. There was no vent in the bathroom to turn on so anytime the bathroom got hot, water condensed on every surface (vanity, door, toilet) or you would get blasted by cold air when the door opened.

Last item was the A/C was difficult to control; we had to turn it off of auto because it never would keep the room cold but then it would run so often that the room would get too cold. It also struggled to pull moisture out of the air so the bedding, towels, and other linens never felt "dry" after the first day.

Location-wise, you can't beat this hotel with nearby eating options, a Trader Joe's for groceries, and Starbucks for the morning cup of coffee. However, with other hotels having been built nearby, the outdated feel and smell to this hotel, and the cost compared to other hotels for what we got, it just doesn't seem like a good value to stay...

I just Moved to the McKinney area. And miss India was so helpful and nice last time I thought I would give them another chance, but I was sadly mistaken, and should’ve took my business elsewhere. Which really makes me feel some type of way because I work for a IHG hotel. and I have never been disrespected the way I have here. The girl Maria at the front desk was not only rude and disrespectful to me. She was also rude to her manager. I was made to feel like all I want it back was some money on a room that I paid for, and that wasn’t the case. I wanted the manager to understand that situations can occur when the front desk does not explicitly tell all the details when a customer is telling them their situation. There was no empathy. There was no nothing no hospitality no nothing I was met with utterly And she has an ugly soul behavior like that should not be tolerated. She was even arguing back with the manager Iand she has an ugly soul behavior like that should not be tolerated. She was even arguing back with the manager. I recently moved to McKinney today and I called yesterday to let them know that I would be either coming in late or trying to see if I could just move the dates around to check in early. She asked me to give her a moment so that she could talk to the manager about the situation and then she would come back and let me know when she came back to the phone. She let me know that I would have to fill out a credit card authorization form in order to check in when I got here. I said OK and filled out the authorization form because I didn’t know another way to make sure that me and my children had somewhere to stay until our apartment is ready. And figured that I would just talk to management when I got here. So me and my family ended up getting care at 11 on the 31st but the first date for me to check in was the 30th. When I asked to speak to management and explain to him what was going on, he made me feel like I was trying to get money back for the night before, but that was already projected into my budget so I really wasn’t worried about The money it’s about the experience it’s about the hospitality. It’s about not knowing what anybody is going through so you should be kind to others I was met with with other lead disrespect. I was met with the assumption that I was just trying to get something free. I was argued with, and if I would have acted the way that she was behaving, I probably would’ve been asked to leave. I never raised my voice. I never was rude. I never was disrespectful when she spoke. I listened and I was quiet when I spoke she over talk to me. I asked him well. May I get my key so I can go ahead and me and my kids can go to our room she was very rude giving me my key at the manager And give me the key then she started arguing with the manager as he was telling her she needed to be worried about the things that she needs to be doing. This should have never happened this way and I don’t appreciate being treated like this This particular hotel needs...

Let's start with the good. Location is great. Didn't take long to get to anywhere we needed to be during our trip. If you want a good air conditioner, this is the place to stay. If you want much of anything else, try another location. It took 3-5 minutes for someone to come to the front desk so we could check in. The lobby was deserted at 4pm. We checked in and went to our rooms, which we nice and cool. Rooms were clean. Fresh towels. So that was OK. After unpacking, tried to access the internet. Was able to connect but could not keep an internet connection. Went to the front desk and the connection was fine in the lobby but when I got back to the room it was up and down like a yo-yo. J at the front desk said he couldn't help, but he did get someone who came to the room, called someone and got them to increase the baud rate which helped some, but still I could not stay connected to the internet in my room. Neither could my kids in their rooms, so had to use our phone data. Went down for breakfast the next morning and my son, handicapped, and granddaughter wanted the waffles in the breakfast picture. They didn't have waffles, so we had to find a place that served waffles for my granddaughter. I will say the woman working at the buffet was awesome. She was as nice as she could be and while we were figuring out where to go, I watched her take care of an elderly customer with a walker and oxygen. She got him his breakfast and asked about everything on the buffet to see if he wanted anything else. She was great. When we returned from my son's wedding, the reason we were there, my daughter was in a separate car and arrived shortly after I did. She heard J talking with someone in the lobby about a customer who complained because he could not get the internet in his room and that he had to send someone up to the room. When I checked out, the women at the front desk asked about my stay so I told her. She told me they had problems with internet going up and down in the rooms. It would have been nice if J just told me that. So if you need the internet and don't want to go to the lobby for a zoom or to get your emails, this is not the place to stay. By the way, they have a small desk in the room, but no plugs anywhere near the desk. And the design makes it all but impossible to open your laptop on the desk. Of course, with no plugs it really was a moot point. Plenty of plugs and USB ports on the night stand, but nothing by the desk. Finally, I don't know if they only replace towels and make the bed every other day, but my wife had to get fresh towels and coffee from the women while she was making up the room across the hall. My kids did not get fresh towels, toiletries, or their beds made. Good luck if you stay here. I certainly will not...
