ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! My husband & I didn't enjoy staying at this "hotel" at all! The hallways & elevators were boiling hot. There was such a a funky smell in the hallways that there were air fresheners sitting in the windowsills on every floor. We asked several times if the air conditioner could be turned on & we were told they were "working on it." Nothing ever changed the whole time we were there. There was only one ice machine on the ground floor which was an incredible inconvenience. The ice buckets have no liners & they're completely exposed to everything in the air. I thought the ice bucket on the top of the stack, which was upside down, would be cleaner by chance. I took it off of the stack & there were little black dot looking things in it. DISGUSTING!!! I picked through several of the ice buckets & several of them were wet. Mysterious?! The door to our room had to be almost slammed shut every time. There was no way to try to close it quietly to keep from disturbing the other guests. There was no fan in the restroom to circulate the air while you're taking a shower. The peep hole cover was broken, so we had to rig something over it so nobody could look in while we were changing clothes. It's really sad that this "hotel" has the name Hilton associated with it at all. We've stayed at loads of Hilton Hotels & this one so far was...
Read moreBrand new hotel - we were here two of the first four days it’s been open - and I can tell you one thing for sure: it’s not ready to be open yet.
I tried to get in touch using the Hilton app’s chat feature, to communicate this non—publicly, but nobody responded.
They do have the newest version of the pancake machine that shows you how many pancakes it’s making, where they are on the belt, and has a button instead of the wave thing, which was great, and I can’t wait for other Tru’s to follow suit.
If you’re an optimized traveler who packs like we do, with everything in order and able to be rolled in on a single set of wheels, the room thresholds are beasts and difficult to get your pack rolled over.
Our room had crumpled light fixtures, an unbalanced refrigerator, multiple bugs, plastic on the stone in the bathroom that had been caulked in, caulk on the mirror+floor+sink, dirt all over the bathroom floor, not a single outlet for whomever is sleeping closest to the AC unit, a toilet seat connected with only a single bolt, and nothing preventing things from falling three feet under the bed. I literally had to move the bed to get to a USB plug I dropped - laying on the floor of a not-ready room to get a $30 plug is pretty gross, I gotta say.
A shame for a...
Read moreThis was my first time staying at a Tru by Hilton. I needed to work in the city for over a week, and I feel I must write this to express my sincere appreciation for Robert.
On one night, I was working very late in the lobby. Robert kept checking on me, kindly asking if I needed something to eat or drink. He even offered me some food. His thoughtfulness and genuine kindness really made me feel at home.
The hotel itself is in a great location — it’s close to my workplace and not far from Dallas. It’s very quiet, and the scenery outside is beautiful.
My family also owns more than ten buildings in another country, and we have designed and decorated several Hilton Garden Inn and DoubleTree hotels ourselves, and we run the Hilton business. I will definitely share my experience with Robert’s amazing service with my family. He is a true example of what great hospitality should be.
Thank you again, Robert, for your warm care and wonderful hospitality. You made my stay truly memorable. Have...
