Very disappointed AGAIN!!! For some reason the McKinney location has really gone downhill. The past 3 visits have been very disappointing - poor quality food, wrong orders, 30+ minutes wait on basic menu items and questionable service not to mention no ice and half of soda machines flavors out. Tonight was a banner screw up and probably my last visit to this location. Showed up for dinner and told they were out of all sushi but tuna, next ordered two regular dinners and waited almost 30 mins to get our food and they were not crowed. Rec'd thr mongolian steak and the steak was barely cooked - actually red not pink and was missing scallions. The second meal - dan dan noodles showed up 10 mins later and was also wrong. Told the waiter/expo about the raw beef and he asked what should he do so I just opted for my money back. He informed me after another small wait that it I would have to wait 3 days for my cc to be credited. In addition to our problems, the table next to us were having the same problems with wait times and wrong orders and bad prep. I have been a fan of Pei Wei for years but this is my breaking point with the McKinney location - I will drive the extra 10 mins and go to Allen. In McKinney Pei Wei translates...
Read moreI've loved PeiWei for the longest. They have had some of my very favorite dishes over time. The main concern that I've really had is when they discontinue a dish that I love, but I suppose that's to be expected. They used to have a Japanese Steak and Shrimp dish that was amazing.
My usual order is the Thai Coconut Curry but I replace the rice with rice noodles (the ones from the Pad Thai). I can't order online because they don't have the rice noodles as a substitute option. That kind of bums me out when I'm doing take out, but they can fulfill my order if I call the restaurant directly. Otherwise, I get a whole bunch of different things on the menu. My family likes all different stuff; honey shrimp, mongolian beef, pad thai, and omg the Drunken Noodles (mmmm). I love that you can add and remove items, or you can double the protein. That really helps me make the dish last longer. I find that if I order a dish and I double the protein for a couple dollars more, it continues to be filling leftovers for later.
Overall, this is one of my favorite...
Read moreThis was my first time eating at this location and first time eating Pei Wei at all. I ordered the orange chicken and lettuce wraps. Our experience started with the sleepy looking girl who took our order. She seemed irritated to be there and put her hands in our cups when she handed them to us..ew but whatever.. then, out of the 2 drink machines, only one was working. The other one was out of almost everything. I let the girl who brought our food know and she went to refill it. I went back up when it was done and it was still basically out of everything. The orange chicken flavor was..meh..but worse than that, the breading was peeling off & the chicken was tough and grisly. Now the lettuce wraps. I ordered these bc I love the ones at PF Changs. Like I said, I have never eaten here before so, I don’t know if this is always how they taste but, they seem to be lacking flavor. Very bland and the lettuce they gave me had a bunch of brown spots. I don’t think it was worth the money or the time..I like Panda Express better &...
