I'm truly hesitant to write this review... because if I truthfully say how great this place was, I'm concerned it will become SO busy, I won't be able to get back in. With that said, everything was excellent. My wife loves mole' and her order was delicious. The rice it comes with is made in a unique way, using Poblano peppers mixed with the water it is boiled in. It comes out perfect, fluffy & delicious. My Carnitas were amazing and the beans + guacamole salad that came with it were right on point. The other members of our party had birria and veggie burritos which were also outstanding. The Flan & Churros we split for dessert matched the entree's in flavor & preparation. Cocktails were made perfectly & served elegantly. The decor in the spacious dining room & bar area is beautiful, the food is SO good that they could easily charge more money for everything on the menu. It deserves a tip of the cap for keeping prices affordable.
Chapter Dos. I was puzzling over how to write a 2nd review without totally sounding like a fanboy... that will not be possible, because this place is simply GREAT.
2nd time there and if anything, it was better than the 1st. I had Shrimp Enchiladas that were about as perfect as they could have been. PLENTY of pristine shrimp, spiced with some combination of flavors that were vibrant and brought out the flavors of the perfectly done, NOT overdone or half raw as is sometimes the case.
My wife and another in our group had the Chicken Mole' Enchiladas and I was forced to try them. They were amazing!
In my experience, Mole' is not necessarily the easiest thing to make as it often is either too sweet OR too spicy and this hit the midpoint as well as it can possibly be hit.
We split the Tres Leches cake for dessert among the 5 of us and I was doing my best not to hog it as it was sublime. Sweet without being cloying, moist and yummy. BTW, it's gluten free so if you happen to have those issues you don't have to pass on dessert.
The service was on point, everything arrived just as it should have.
The prices are ridiculously affordable, although with the recent jump in everything from produce to plates, they will likely increase so the owners can continue to serve not just some of the best Mexican food in the Valley, but some of the best food at any restaurant period.

Read moreAbsolutely amazing! After a recent try of another Mexican restaurant that started and ended in complete failure in every step along the way, this was the complete opposite and a pleasant surprise . The place looks nice, clean, and new. Every staff member was extremely nice and helpful. I came with my dad and as we were waiting for our drinks, I even said to him "by what I'm seeing and smelling this is going to be amazing" I was not disappointed. We started with the queso and it was amazing on its own, but for me the star of the dish was these damn fresh made warm tortillas. I don't know who's abuelita is back there smacking these out but they are heaven sent. It's what I imagine all the food shows/videos talk about, when they say the real corn tortillas in Mexico are nothing like what we typically have here in America and the hosts always eat a ton of them. I haven't had a tortilla this good since I was a kid. These even made my dad reminisce of his younger days in Mexico. I tried a bite of the mole enchiladas my dad ordered , and that mole is amazing, with huge depth of flavor that is balanced quite well. I unfortunately wasn't prepared and didn't plan on eating much, but had to try something "small", I grabbed 3 of their crunchy tacos one of each protein so I could sample. These are the most basic items they serve on the menu, and even these were great, mainly because of the meat being seasoned great and very flavorful. Rice is tasty and a unique take from the typical flavorless rice you typically get at most restaurants. Bean were actually good for being vegan. Overall great experience and great food, so much so, my dad and I will be back next week where I'll be devouring the birria short ribs that caught my eye.... And a dozen tortillas... And a dozen to...
Read moreIt can be so hard to find a deep luscious Mole here in the Valley. Most places that do a mole have been so disappointing. But not “the Guad”! When we first came here a month ago, I didn’t know that they had a Mole dish. I never order enchiladas unless they have Mole on the menu. So I took a chance and then left, blissfully content after cleaning my plate. All my desires for Chicken Mole Enchiladas had been met and exceeded. And topping off the wonderful Mole sauce was chicken that had actually been marinated. So each bite was as consistently delicious as the last. So now a month later, my wife and I went back. Me, to see if it was still just as good as the first visit, before I wrote a review. And my wife actually wanted to come back. Which is a good sign, when it comes to Mexican food. She is just as picky about her red sauce and we don’t go back to most new restaurants just for that reason. The accompanying beans are rice are just as tasty. The rice has a delightful and unique spice combination that keeps my mouth full. It was the first thing I finished tonight. Which surprised me since I always leave most rice on the plate, as I try and limit much of my carb intake to chips and salsa. And their Salsas are great and worth paying for. I would imagine that the rest of the menu holds other delicacies that I will enjoy in the future, now that it’s time to try something else exciting. The dining environment and bar area are both picturesque and very comfortable. The staff is friendly, attentive and ready to describe any dish you maybe interested in. I do recommend the Flan. Though I wouldn’t share it if I were you. It may cause you relationship problems if you don’t cut it perfectly in half, or in my case favoring my wife’s side. Enjoy! You...
