You can skip the response by them when it comes, as I can already tell you what it will be. They use an old-school approach to handling customer problems. Excuses, saying they did everything they could to help, saying we accepted the outcome (as they still pushed to make money off this horrible job), and being overly negative and defensive. They keep context and facts out on purpose.
They even went as far as going out of their way to share personal information with our ongoing BBB case, changing the facts and blatantly lying to make it look like I was a bad person.
I have photos and videos showing the issues created by this job and the negligence on Furniture Plus to properly address them. I offer these with anyone that would like to see or to visit our home before you decide to move forward with them.
Furniture Plus was hired to provide flooring and Installation. There were multiple issues throughout the process in which the owner failed to project manage the contractors that they chose and hired or address, even though they were flagged to them on many occasions (daily). They avoided any sort of confrontation with the contracting company, often times asking us to deal with it by contacting them ourselves. They are squarely blaming the contracting company and taking no responsibility.
When the company chooses and hires contractors, the company is responsible for the project management this means all communication with customer and contractors, regular walkthroughs and updates, etc. This didn't happen. They oftentimes passed it off to us to handle.
The job took over a month to complete, much over the quoted 8-10 days. This left us without a place to live as we ran out of time with our living arrangements, lost a ton of money, and the next contractors could not start their job and set us back another month.
Some of the Issues (oh yeah there's more):
Unfinished Areas - Simply put, there's areas that were just left unfinished.
Horribly uneven tile - Horrible difference in low and high tiles. This was the largest flag throughout and it was failed to be addressed.
Dust - The mess went beyond normal as they also created internal issues with our appliances. By the way, dust within internal components can create fire hazard and electrical shortage, personal history does not trump researched fact. This is just like Robert. You're not a doctor or appliance expert. Use Google, it'll help you.
Water Leak - This was due to the removal of the dishwasher for work and the ends of the pipes not capped off. Contractors placed a bucket in the wrong spot and there was a leak for days. The water leaked through to other parts of the cabinet as well. Furniture Plus had their (son/brother) come over to check, hmm. They came back to blame it as "previous" issues as they broke the kick plate and saw mold. Even with the fact that it was wet everywhere and dripping from the dishwasher line.
Installed the wrong carpet pad (still there) - Lack of management created this problem. They stated the wrong material came in. This could have been checked properly and then again during install. What company doesn't do intake and inventory checks properly.
The resolution (lack of one) was sub-par with comments that shows self-interest that included not confronting the contractor because they still needed them for jobs and a minor discount because he "still needed to make money on the job". The destruction alone and being displaced from home over the proposed completion date cost us thousands of dollars we didn't have. Example, negligence led to the destruction of our stove and dishwasher, alone worth over $4000. With the pandemic causing manufacturing issues we didn't have a way to cook for months. The water damage could lead to lasting issues.
They think this is over, but far from it. They'd rather drag this out and lose money. Website with presentation to come. You may be able to see them on TV soon. I'm also blaming the contractors and dealing with...
Read moreIt's easy to receive a five star rating when everything goes good. To get a five star rating when problems occur is the sign of a very customer oriented company. We purchased a Flexsteel power reclining loveseat and couch. The purchase and delivery service were excellent. About six months later the material on both pieces of furniture started showing excessive wear. We called the store, sent them pictures and they contacted Flexsteel. They were able to get replacement fabric and as soon as it arrived we received a call to schedule a pick up or our furniture. All the damaged material was replaced and the furniture was returned the next day. Great work guys! The story doesn't end there. Another six months went by and we started seeing the replaced fabric wearing the same as the original. This time Flexsteel said that they had already replaced the material once and they hadn't received any other complaints about this material so they weren't willing to do anything further. Chad (Furniture Plus owner) wrote a letter to Flexsteel and was able to get us $500. I thought this was great, but Chad knew that we weren't happy with our furniture. He had us come to the showroom and was willing to do anything in his power to make us happy. After the bad luck we had with the fabric furniture we knew we would only be happy with leather. He gave us a great deal and even delivered it that afternoon for free. Thank you for turning what could have been a nightmare into a...
Read moreUpdate: We had two major issues of concern with our leather sofa & loveseat furniture. We are happy that Aaron made sure we were satisfied with the mechanical part that he replaced/installed and he recommended a furniture restoration company to repair our pet-scratched leather. He also helped with the frustration of the Uniters warranty that was being declined and we came to an agreement on how that would be resolved. Thank you again for being so responsive! That really turns things around and we will continue to refer family and friends your way.
Hands down for the best service and quick delivery on special orders during the 2019 holiday season! Just want to thank Bruce for his time during our shopping experience finding a sofa and love seat that met our family needs. The leather color was perfect and all functions of our Palliser furniture operate quietly. You don't hear the furniture make a squeak or crunch noise in the leather when it reclines or adjusts. It's so quiet!! Also happy we got to see the bigger picture when it was on display at the store. The delivery drivers were professional and very polite using Ms. and Mr. ----- I highly...
