I'm the kind of person who reads bad reviews and goes "that was probably a one off thing its fine" and books the hotel anyways, but I genuinely wish I hadn't with this place.
This place absolutely sucked. My best friend was visiting from New York, and she had booked everything for us for a week, including this hotel room. A 2 queen bed room on the ground floor, which is what we got. Neither of us were familiar with the area, but it was right off the freeway which was pretty convenient for us because we were doing a lot of driving around. But the hotel itself sucked. When we checked in, the man helping us was very dismissive and rude, he charged us an additional $100 deposit without explaining what it was for (and we did not get back) despite us paying for the entirety of the stay in full prior to checking in when we booked the room 2 months in advance. When we checked in, I noticed there was urine stains on the toilet that my friend scrubbed off, as well as stains on the mattress cover. The towels in the bathroom were falling apart and there was only a bottle of shampoo bolted to the wall of the shower and a single bar of soap for both showering and washing our hands (as you can imagine that bar of soap did not last very long with 3 people in the room). They had a complimentary continental breakfast, which is fine, food wasn't great but considering it was free we couldn't complain much. The problem was we could hear the kitchen staff banging around at 5 AM prepping breakfast, and breakfast was only available from 6-9 am, as well as we were not allowed to bring our breakfast back to our room with us, I am unsure why. The waffle machines were extremely loud and woke the 3 of us up every morning. We were also frequently woken up by people yelling down the hall ways, banging on walls and doors, children screaming, dogs barking at all hours of day and night (we are aware it was a pet friendly hotel, we had initially planned on bringing my ESA but decided against it last minute). The pool was closing that same week we were there, and we were woken up at 5 am to maintenance banging outside for some god forsaken reason. At some point we needed new towels to shower with, and when I asked for some (there was not a phone in the room by the way), they wanted me to bring back the soiled towels and exchange them and then the lady working (she was nice, I kinda feel bad) asked me to write a 5 star review for her on google because "your kind of people write good reviews" Frankly I am not going to write a review for a place that asks me to for doing the bare minimum service for my stay like giving me fresh towels. The AC made us sick!! Now, I did catch a slight cold because I do work in childcare, but I have no idea when the last time the AC unit in the room was cleaned, because it made whatever we had so much worse, on top of my dust and pollen allergies. We could not have the AC on at all without coughing and sneezing horribly, so naturally, our room was extremely warm and uncomfortable to sleep in. I had the window open to try and counteract this, which of course let in more noise alongside the amount of noise inside the building already. There are only 2 outlets by the bed, and then the one in the bathroom, but the ones by the beds are upside down, and the mount they are on are so low we had to prop a book underneath the lamp so we could plug our chargers into the ONLY PORTS IN THE ROOM because they put covers we could not remove into every other charging port in the room. This last note is just a bit annoying if anything, but my personal cell service sucked in this area and their free wifi was dog crap. It constantly disconnected on its own, half the time it wouldn't load up the screen to input the password, so good luck doing anything on your personal devices that requires an internet...
Read moreI own a trucking company and was visiting Utah after delivering freight in the area. My wife was traveling with me and we stayed at this hotel from May 26-28th. On the morning of May 28th I went to the front desk and asked the manager "GG" if I could extend my stay. GG told me that before extending my stay he had to have housekeeping turnover my room because my wife and I had been at the hotel for two days and per their policy they had to clean the room to protect them from any complaints from guest. It was between 8-8:30 a.m. and my wife was still sleeping (checkout is not until 11) so I was reluctant to wake her and asked GG if this was absolutely necessary. GG insisted it was so I woke my wife. Housekeeping did not come upstairs to our room for another two hours. At 10:30 a.m. a woman who was identified as the head of housekeeping came to our room, walked in, circled the bedroom area and then walked out. I stopped the housekeeper asking her why she did not clean the room or change the linens and she told me that she was just sent to "inspect the room". I asked her to change the linens and clean the room being that I we were made to wait for her service in order to extend our stay, and I had to wake my wife. The housekeeper refused to clean the room and called the manager GG. Rather than confronting her, I took the elevator downstairs to the lobby to tell GG my own version of what took place. When I got to the front desk GG asked me "...What Happened?" I explained what happened and GG responded by saying "Yeah, we got a complaint last night at 2:30 in the morning that someone on the second floor was smoking marijuana in their room, and being that you've been up there a couple of days we needed to inspect your room to make sure the smell was not coming from there." Shocked, I looked at GG and said "You had me wake my wife up for this nonsense? I own a trucking company and am traveling for business. Most importantly I don't do drugs! Your housekeeper told you that she didn't smell anything in our room right?" GG looked at me and said "The housekeeper said she can smell marijuana, sorry I cannot extend your stay." i used every bit of my patience not to make a scene in the hotel lobby and told GG that his accusations were discriminatory and that I would appreciate it if he came upstairs himself to inspect my hotel room. GG refused every request to inspect my hotel room stating that he trusted the housekeeper and would take her word. I asked for a manager and GG claimed there was no one else to speak with above him. My wife and I were subsequently kicked out of the hotel on a false discriminatory claim that was not properly investigated. We checked into a hotel across the street and had no more issues during our stay in Utah. It should be noted that like most hotels this hotel took a deposit from me at check-in to ensure that there was no smoking in the room, or damage caused to the hotel room. The hotel despite making this discriminatory claim and denying my wife and I service returned our deposit the next day after our stay. Further proof that this was discrimination not a violation of their policy. Buyer...
Read moreWe came here, because it was reasonable and only needed to stay the night for a tasting at Solitude Mountain Resort for our July wedding there. We were quite excited when we entered the room! It was big and had a sitting room with an additional Tv. It was billed as having a refrigerator and microwave also. While it had both of those things, the refrigerator DID NOT function. We lost food due to this. Also, the additional TV would’ve been great, if it had worked, too. By the way, it’s cold here right now, so we needed the heat on last night. Unless you leave the curtain pulled halfway back across the window, the air BLOWS STRAIGHT UP THE CURTAIN. Did I mention we’re in the first floor, and I’d prefer to NOT have people looking in my room in the middle of the night, thanks. I had the epiphany to put shoes on the window sill to keep the air from blowing up to no avail- they fell off, and I got very cold. We forgot to tell them about the issues last night as we’re just here trying to get last minute wedding details resolved. I went to the front desk this morning and explained all the issues, why we were here, and asked if we could get a late checkout for all the room issues. Her response was that she just works here and a late checkout is extra. My response was no worries, I’ll just post this information in my Google review. A few moments later, she saw me and asked if we told them last night. I explained to her why we’re here to begin with and we forgot to address this last night with the grunting man. All she said was ok. While I understand she may only be hired help, the level of customer service she offered was again, nonexistent. The room was budget friendly but not comfortable. The door handle to the bathroom needs replacing desperately. Very disappointed and will make it a point not to stay in any Radisson facility in the future. The only bright spot is that the location is a straight shot to Solitude. The breakfast is absolutely nothing the write home about, but it’s free. However, the precious coffee urn stated it was 100% Colombian, and I’m going to have to say that is an erroneous statement, unless it is literally the cheapest Colombian coffee they could find. It’s that bad, but a reason to find a coffee shop where...
