Well, here we go….. my family and I travel very often for club basketball. So what to expect to get from or out of every stay at a hotel by rate plus date, I must say very seasoned we are. Actually we are part of the Wyndham program as Diamond members (#213301860E) meaning many many stays. 6/7 - 6/10/23 Utah Basketball tourney the great summer classic is what brings us to the Midvale, Utah La Quinta for stay. So usually family in full there is 6 traveling. This trip just my 2nd daughter and 2nd child of 12yrs old. So with four kids location is always huge as we all care for the safety plus the experience with every traveling stay. So as we get close I’m noticing the places in this area like McD’s Chevron plus Denny’s and then omg just past the hotel MOTEL 6. At this point I’m freaking out with it being just me and my daughter. I calling my wife like wt* did you book!! I sat for a sec to think of what I could or should do next I look on my Wyndham app at pics of hotel to see what was missed when booked. I see the rate along with pictures and was like well I need to go look inside because it didn’t look bad at all…. I like to say it’s a price match! So I walk in and I’m shocked it’s not bad at all. There’s a cool SUPER long hall just crazy very different. So I decide to give it a shot. Front desk checking in after all the bad to start there’s a lady dark hair tattoos down her fingers I’m like…. Oh my here we go! Smdh never judge by the cover. This young lady Sylvia gave us the best welcome I’ve ever had at a Wyndham property as a Diamond member. The perks that usually I have to cry for she brought to the door with out a word from me. Very excited we were! Then a few hours later coming back to the hotel there’s a new lady up at front desk that I think where’s way to many hats. She’s on the ball I mean as a greeter, house keeper, and even security. Shayla is her name Securing the property is how we met. Working hard to keep the foot traffic and problems off and away from this property. Out number she is by miles but the effort was pleasing to see. She cared about this property and all sleeping with. She was sharp & prompt about any help needed. So the first night and every night turned out great. Even with knowing what lurked outside the doors. I felt secure even having my baby with. Shayla also told me about the management and the good efforts that are being taking to restore this little nugget. The motel 6 is pulling this area Down single handedly but depending on the time your reading this the restore I’m sure would have it more under control. The community around this place is clean and well kept a nice park my daughter and myself went to many time with great people midvale park I believe is the name. Now the other end I won’t say horrible but I must say barely getting it done. The morning/day sift. Many employees working but very slow to helping needs and to be this far from the border I wouldn’t have expected only 1 that could speak English. Breakfast was ok lady working didn’t bring out all that they have available for us again no English very lazy…. The rooms were decent as they are up grading the place I notice. Pool and spa is cool. So all of this to say if the rate is right don’t fear to stay a night you will be ok it wasn’t dirty which is huge. No not a 5 stars hotel but small tight with a home like feeling that at times...
Read moreDear Corporate Team,
I am writing to bring to your attention a series of incidents that occurred during my recent stay at La Quinta Wyndham Midvale from August 8 to August 9th. While I appreciate the initial efforts of the general manager to resolve an earlier issue regarding the theft of my belongings, the subsequent events have left me deeply disturbed and seeking further action.
After being comped a free night due to the initial incident, my daughter experienced an allergic reaction, broke out in hives all over her body due to dirty pool or un sanitized bedding. Which required a 3 AM emergency room visit. We did not get released from the ER until 5AM. Got back to the hotel at 5:30 AM. I asked the front desk for a later check out. The front desk kindly extended our check-out time to 1 PM. However, despite this arrangement, we were rushed out of the room by the general manager, who entered our room without permission while I was downstairs at my car packing my belongings. Causing distress to my wife, who was half-naked at the time. The manager's behavior and language were unacceptable, especially when he repeatedly mentioned his sexual orientation, stating that he was gay and could therefore keep the door open, disregarding my wife's concerns for her privacy and safety. He said I quote I will not shut this door until you are out of the room. My wife told him kindly she was shutting the door because she was half naked and our 6 year old daughter was with her and she needed to changed due to him being a male. The “manager” had no badge was in street clothes. My wife was traumatized. He shoved his foot in the door and opened it and would not let my wife close the door to change. She feared for her life not knowing if he was a stranger with a weapon. I went down to front desk to speak to him and asked for an apology to my wife. He said he owed NO apology as he was gay and would not harm her.
My wife, who has experienced sexual assault in the past, was terrified by the manager's actions and language. His insistence on his sexual orientation being a justification for his behavior was not only irrelevant but also served to further traumatize my wife. I find it alarming that the manager would use his sexual orientation in this manner, and I believe it's essential to address this aspect of the incident.
Given the severity of these incidents and the emotional distress caused, I am requesting full compensation for my next stays, as well as additional compensation for the harm and trauma experienced by my family. I would like to be compensated to the full extent, including but not limited to:
Compensation for the emotional distress and trauma caused to my family Coverage of any medical expenses related to my daughter's allergic reaction Any other relevant compensation deemed appropriate by your team
I request that you investigate this matter, address the general manager's behavior, and take necessary steps to ensure that guests feel safe and respected. I would appreciate a formal apology and assurance that measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Please let me know the next steps in addressing this...
Read moreOkay, I wasn't going to complain but this is too much. This hotel was dirty. The worst was this chair right when you walk in covered in what I only hope is yogurt and not from a man see photos. Second I noticed a hole in my window screen which isn't the worst thing since I have an electric car. I asked the front desk and they said I could plug it in through that... well I go to open the window and that's when I realized why it was so loud, the window is broken. I could hear ever order at the McDonald's drive through all night even with the glass resting in the closed position. It's completely off track and unsafe, it almost fell on me and I could've been severely injured if the glass broke. The only way I could open it to charge the car is by making it rest very dangerously on the ice thing. Well this morning, I go to breakfast. I'm stopped by the young girl, younger than our children, and told we can't eat in our room. After last night they gave us a run down of the best delivery options and our room has microwave and fridges. My wife just had surgery and can't walk, but I can't bring her a waffle after everything you put us through? I've stayed with Wyndham for 45 years and have absolutely never been told anything like that let alone had an experience like this. They need to revoke this franchise... when I called corporate from the room, the front desk lied and said I hadn't checked in yet, then changed their story to I hadn't complained yet. Our whole family was present last night, we did. I told corporate the photos of the man fluid and injury lawsuit waiting to happen will be on Google. Now let's dive into the area, bad bad bad. Lots of homeless and lastnight there was about 15-20 hanging out till 1am outside drinking and smoking. There's a bunch of bottles outside around the door. Definitely a place you wanna carry a gun to the car. Most of the doors are permanently locked here because it's such a bad area. Last night there were two addicts fighting outside our, "window," aka hole with glass resting over it, setting off their alarm, and banging the car screaming. I went to the front and asked her to call the cops, and they never came so idk if she even did? The hottub and pool didn't seem clean and had lots of hair floating in it, like a hairball. The towels there looked to not have been stocked in...
