You have to take this as your child's first experience preforming on stage. Especially if they are young. The end play is a little corny and pushed along but you have to remember that they only get to practice at the most 5 days. Many only 4. It was a good experience for small children to learn how to be loud and dramatic and in front of a crowed. The larger more important roles are given to older high schoolers. Which is understandable since they have to have there lines down and ready in a day or two. I had a 10 year old that loved it. She had maybe 6 lines but learned how to say them loud and with expression. I had a 7 year old that thought it was fun but was done by the end of the week. He does say he would do it again next year. I also had a 5 year old who didn't make the cut and was upset about it. But I see that to as a growing experience as well. She wants to try again next year and will be bigger and better. The audition itself was certainly beneficial to her. So, don't expect the world but was worth the week...
Read moreThis is possibly the best kept secret of Montana. We have never been disappointed in the quality of the productions or the people associated with MCT.
A few years ago our grand daughter Amanda was offered chances to go to orchestra camp, leadership camp, space camp etc. Instead she chose Next Step Prep Camp with the MCT. A vigorous six week intensive to teach the art of production to young adults. They danced, sang, produced and preformed in an amazing period of time.
Kids from all over the world were there to learn about the theater. Afterwords, we asked if she had chosen wisely. Did she wish she had made another choice. She said that period was one of the best times she had ever had. She would do it again in a heart beat.
MCT is a treasure and we are very pleased to just be able to attend the productions locally and support their international reach. Judy Helm Wright, author and publisher at...
Read moreWell at first I was Leary to go,we are not exactly the type of people to like live theatre and its missoula not exactly a huge town. We did not know what to expect really. My daughter had to write an essay on a play she is in the 7th grade and the only show that was playing was leading ladies, it was pg13 so I figured what the heck. Well it was a fantastic experience. I was really surprised by the quality of acting and props and the whole atmosphere. My only complaint was the seating doesn't give you much leg room for a 2 hour play but the entire atmosphere made up for it. I even threatened to make my husband take me out again. Loved it very much. Thank you for a...
