I am deducting 1 star as they have caught onto my trick of using a slightly larger growler at the same price. I noticed this and have only told a few people as I fear the ramifications of slightly higher prices everywhere else. -- No free beer, booooo.
On their second day of opening I have been impressed with their beer selection, the one beer that stood out above the rest (most were below average compared to Montana brews) in my travels to Colorado. My only legitimate complaint is that if I wanted a growler of beer from around here such as Great Burn, Kettlehouse, or Big Sky; I would rather go to one of the breweries in town.
Of the ones that I have had my favorites are on tap tap: Salmon fly honey Fresh Squeezed IPA Blackfoot IPA Boulder Porter (Nitro) Delirium Tremens
Missing on tap for my top beers: Red Lodge Porter - I'm going to say it, In my opinion, this beer is much better than Cold Smoke. (Cold Smoke takes 3rd place for porters with Blacksmith in 2nd.) More Belgium style beers (I want a saison and a tripel) FacePlant - Please do not carry FacePlant as...
Read moreBest selection of beer in Missoula (except for the Rhino), this place is laid back, clean, light, and airy. You can order food from the Pearl next door (which is absolutely delicious... guaranteed) and pick from a wide selection of beers on tap at the counter. The selection changes often, but you can ask for samples before you commit to a pint. It also has a nice selection of growlers and growler fills are usually pretty moderately priced (depending on the beer). Service is good but it's usually crowded past 5. Like a brewery, it tends to close earlier (9 or 10). Unlike a Montana brewery there's no limit on how many beers you can order. It also does have wine kegs it taps if you don't just want beer. Overall, one of my favorite places to grab a beer after lunch, before heading downtown to barhop, or with a few friends to gab and...
Read moreI have been coming here for the past year or so when I am in Missoula. I only wish I had found it earlier. I literally come here every time I am in Missoula, that's how much I like it! Not only do they have 40 taps with beer from around the world, they have 3 hard ciders that rotate, which is why I come here. I love cider!! The staff is always welcoming, the store is always clean, and it is very welcoming. No blaring TVs, just a variety of music which is never too loud. They don't have food, but you can bring any that you would like. Either from home, or from any of the restaurants in the area. If you haven't been here, you are missing out on a...
