What $82 (after taxes and fees) will get you: a retro experience! Relive the 1970s with all original furniture and fixtures. Beds harder than stone! Walls so thin, you won't miss one moment of anger or passion that your neighbors are having! Nor they yours! A real community experience! Their wall mounted A/Cs may not cool much but are guaranteed to be noisy enough to wake the dead. TVs smaller than your exes junk (or at the very least, what he claimed...). Holes and stains in the furniture and floor that makes you glad you don't travel with a black light (sometimes ignorance is bliss). Speaking of lights, assured that at least half of the lights work! And make sure you grab a prepackaged muffin or packet of oatmeal at the continental breakfast bar! OK, sarcasm aside, the real redeeming qualities was the friendly staff at the desk and the free Wi-Fi that was surprisingly quick (I'm not talking about 1kMbs, but still, way quicker than I expected...). Otherwise I'd avoid this place like the plague.

Rooms was filthy. There was a ring of fuzzy mold in the toilet. When I complained, the very nice lady at the front desk said "someon must have poured something down it. It's one of our good rooms!!!" But she never offered to clean it or even give me a brush to do it myself or move me to one of the :bad rooms". Someone's dirty sock was on the floor and it didnt belong to us. Floors were dirty. Beds and pillows felt like sleeping on a bag of straw. If you're desperate, which was our case because we needed someplace to sleep in Monroe, then go there. Unfortunately, it's the best in town! Otherwise, I suggest you pitch a tent, bring a camper or drive back to Conyers or anywhere else! By the way, I'm giving it a second star for Glenda at the front desk who was very pleasant and brought me a working TV remote (still no toilet brush). The motel itself is only worth one!

I stayed here 2 times unfortunately, it was the closest possible hotel to the courthouse. Our first trip was miserable but doable. I had called in and reserved a room letting them know I was out of state taking a train and what time I would arrive. They said lovely see you then. I arrived at 10am to be told I had to wait until after 2 to be put in a room no exceptions. We waited four hours outside because they have absolutely no furniture inside their ‘lobby’ just unopened furniture boxes. When we were finally allowed into the room for half of the outlets to not work, the toilet broke on the second flush, my boyfriend attempted to shower only to have the sliding shower door fall on top of him, and then to top it off the hair dryer was broken. All of that to say fine I paid $89 dollars for this place and for the convenience of closeness to court? Fine that is on me what should I expect honestly? So the second time I expected all of this, when I called to place the second reservation i stressed the time the train would be there and when I’d check in at 10am sharp. they agreed told me they ‘put a note in!’ for me to call the day of while on the 10 hour train ride there to be told ‘hmmm, nope no note. Clock in is at 2’ to wait once again for a room I had reserved and stressed the time frame of. This time we do have a nicer looking room and most things work other than the fan in the bathroom, the shower doors so frail anytime you try to move them at all to get in or out they fall of their track, and the water handle being like put in backwards? ( you have to have the water almost off to the point of a drizzle to get hot which is labeled ‘cold’, what is labeled ‘hot’ is nothing more than freezing water no matter how long you wait.) Again fine I was supposed to be charged overall 89 for the room plus a refundable $50. Wrong. They Charged me not only 139 for the room the 89+50, put a 50 hold on my account for another deposit, AND then charged me ANOTHER $50 for the deposit which over charged my account and stopped me from ubering to my train to get home. When I called I spoke to AJ who told me I was an ‘idiot’ and that is not what happened and that it’s a banking issue and he only charged me $89 dollars and the $50 had already been refunded. He is a crook and this hotel is a joke. If you don’t HAVE to use this hotel please DO NOT, save yourself the money and hassle. Oh also the hot tub rooms? They’re tubs folks...

My husband and I along with my 22 month old daughter were on the road headed to Atlanta when we got into a car accident. We had to take an ambulance to the hospital, once we were discharged from the hospital we actually had to stay in Monroe because we are from Augusta and someone had to pick us up in the morning. By the time we checked into the hotel is was close to 1am. The lady at the front was friendly, we told her our story (just small talk) and told her we needed a room for one night, we were tired and our car was totaled from a hit and run with an 18 wheeler. We got our room and the tv didnt work...which was fine but I still called the front desk bc I had my little one with me so we needed something to keep her quiet. She came to the room, checked the tv and said she would move us into another room. Her and my husband left and I stayed behind to grab my daughter and some of the bags. I walk out of the room and the lady tells me that our new room is right across the hall....a Jacuzzi suite. My husband told her that this wasn't necessary but she said it's fine and "you all have been through a lot tonight and I'm just doing this out of the kindness of my heart" We thanked her and my husband gave her a monetary tip. She told us to have a good night and left. Long story short...we wake up in the morning and was told by the manager that we have to pay $90 extra for the room. We told her that the lady from the night shift gave us this room, we assumed that it was the only room available so we took it, we didn't ask for it and she didn't mention that it would be $90 extra. Needless to say the manager was mad and called the police on us! She spoke to her employee who lied on us and took her word for it. I thought the customer was always right?! How dare you call the police on a paying customer...I initially paid $103 for a room that's not even worth $50 and then they get an additional $90 from us! Just like I told the police, we aren't on vacation! This isn't our honeymoon so we sure wouldn't stop in Monroe Ga to get a Jacuzzi room with a toddler! I do believe that the lady was trying to be nice BUT when her boss saw that she didn't charge us she flipped the story just to save her butt. Never again would I ever stay...

Be ware of the creepy guy who works the desk at night. He said he is the manager. I believe his name is AJ. He has harassed me at least three days out of the 10 days. He kept calling my room asking me inappropriate questions and when I didn't respond the way he expected, he said even more things to make me feel uncomfortable. I told him I didn't appreciate the things he were saying and told him this is harassment. He told me if I don't like it there then he will refund me the rest of my money so I can leave. It was already late at night. Being a single woman and new to Ga, I felt unsafe and uncomfortable with his inappropriate behavior, so I called some other hotels and lucked up. Then I went downstairs and told the him I need my money back. Some lady whom looked like she just woke up came out and told me a bunch of nonsense as if she was going to refund me. So I call the police in order to get my money back. Out of spite, a lady at the desk refunded me $190.40 by giving me (8) $20 bills, $30 worth of quarters and allegedly 40 pennies. She tried to force me to sign a contract saying that I received the total before I got my money in hand. I recorded everything. I needed a room for a week or two. And unfortunately this was my last resort. Better hotels in the surrounding area were sold out. The two ladies that work at the desk during the day are so sweet and helpful that was the only plus about this place. Housekeeping staff were courteous. The 1st day in the room, I discovered that only 3 buttons on the remote worked and the microwave didn't work. Wash cloths and towels were dingy. But I didnt need any of those things so I overlooked it. To be such an ran down place, the least they can offer is some courtesy and professionalism to anyone who waste his or her money...
