My boyfriend needed a new mattress. At 6’4” , 230 lbs on a 20 yr old mattress it was fine for him because he had carved out his spot in the middle, but I was rolling into an endless abyss when I would stay over and have to crawl out of the pit in the morning. I told him I am not sleeping in that bed any longer if we didn’t go mattress shopping that weekend. We had 2 choices…Mattress King and Mattress Firm. Our first stop was Mattress King. Kimberly was wonderful! She showed us beds in the price range I wanted and explained the different types of mattresses. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I told her we wanted to check Mattress Firm to see what they had to offer. Well, they tried to sell us on a mattress that was $3k more and kept telling us Mattress King couldn’t beat their prices. The sales man was cocky and didn’t explain to us the difference in mattresses, even though he touted he’d been selling mattresses for 26 yrs. We headed straight back to Mattress King and bought the mattress my boyfriend wanted. It was $1k more than I wanted to spend but the price included everything from box springs to delivery and waterproof mattress cover and the haul away of the old mattress was $50 cheaper than mattress firm, and Kimberly was able to give me a little bit of a deal on a mattress already on sale . Ask yourself… Can you put a price on great customer service.? I think not. My boyfriend is happy with his California King bed and I’m happy I’m back in bed with my...
Read moreBought a bed for the first time in 20 years. We bought a frame, boxset, and mattress, asking to have the old items hauled away, but they took only the old boxset and mattress, leaving the frame in our driveway - claiming there was a 2 item limit. What? What is then point? Now I have to go the dump anyway. Waste of money. But the main thing, we found out later - is they sold us a non-working mattress. At the store, they told us these foam mattresses ships rolled to save space, but take 4 hours after unrolling to take its final shape, but they would do that before delivering the mattress. But of course they did not, they unrolled it at our house and told us to wait 4 hours for it to take shape. Long after the delivery driver left, we began to understand this mattress was bad.
The mattress is only even one one side, and has a hard slope on the other. It is 8" tall on one side of the bed, 4" on the other! If only they had actually kept their word and unrolled the mattress before delivery, it would've been obviously defective. Of course, we will be getting our money back. What a terrible experience. I have to haul off the old frame to the dump. I have to haul back the new mattress to the store for a return. No service and junk...
Read moreI exchanged my first mattress under the comfort guarantee. Unfortunately the mattress that I exchanged for is more expensive and I haven't had a good night's rest since the exchange. Deliveries were on time and the employees who delivered were the most courteous I have experienced. The sales person (Lester) was great to deal with. They are all a valuable asset to Mattress King. I am not faulting Mattress King, because they live up to their promise. Buying a mattress was never a problem in the past. My wife and I are now 70ish and due to our aging it is difficult to find a comfortable mattress. The two new mattresses offered no more comfort than our 10 year old one. It seems that these mattresses are manufactured after you order and pay. Our experience has been that the delivered mattresses did not feel the same as the ones in store. Makes me wonder if the manufacturer actually builds all their mattress to same standards. I have been told that mattresses break in. After 2 months I have not found this to be true. I give 5 stars to Mattress King as they have lived up to commitments. I would give 3 stars at most to the...
