DO NOT DO VEHICLE DASH CAM INSTALLATION AT BEST BUY MURRIETA. Never had a worse experience in my life. I have had dash cams installed in many of my vehicles and have been accommodated at different Best Buy locations without any issues. Charlie/Charles (manager) and Devon (installer) in mobile install gave less than substandard service. When I arrived at the store, I stated that I had a 10 o’clock for a dash cam installation. The salesperson said I would have to bring my car around the side for installation. I drove my car around and find Charlie at the install window. I was met with dry tone asking if I had the parts. There is a door that leads right into the store, but for some reason, I had to walk around again, out the install area and back in the store to get the dash cam. Devon does a vehicle inspection and asks what the best phone number was to let me know when the vehicle is done. He did not point me in the direction of the lobby to sit and wait in, so I assumed that I had to wait back in the store. I find the cell phone area is the only place with chairs, so I sit there and read a book. No one offers assistance. I finally get a call from Devon after an hour and a half saying the rearview mirror “fell off due to dripping glue” and “a faulty installation of my previous dash cam.” Devon shows me a hole in my windshield, windshield glass pieces spread on the dash, and my rearview mirror hanging off. He asks where I had my previous dash cam installed. I said another Best Buy, where I always purchase my dash cams and install. At this point, Devon is trying to convince me that my rearview mirror broke off due to an old dash cam installation that for some reason would have had to reattach my rearview mirror with superglue. He insists on looking at my purchase history trying to place blame on another store asking, “Does San Marcos sound familiar?” Charlie goes to Autozone to purchase the right glue to put the mirror back on. Charlie returns and explains that he can’t glue my rearview mirror and that the WHOLE WINDSHIELD HAS TO BE REPLACED. He too asks where I previously had my dash cam installed. Why would that matter when they wouldn’t even need to work on the rearview mirror? I reiterated that it had been YEARS since I’ve installed a dash cam in this vehicle. They’d spent the past 2 hours reaching for someone else to blame when THEY broke off my rearview mirror, lacking accountability or even a solution. I call my husband because I truly feel I am not getting anywhere and at this point feel like I’m being taken advantage of. They finally agree to schedule a safelite appt to replace my windshield. My husband had to confirm that they would pay for the $500 replacement windshield, not us. At this point I’ve already waited 3 hours with no progress. I reluctantly agree to drive my car back home without a rearview mirror just to drive back the next day to have my windshield replaced and the actual service I paid for completed. All they give me is an estimated timeframe of 1pm-5pm that safelite will arrive. The next day, my husband calls Charlie to request a more accurate time so I’m not waiting around again for 4 hours. I arrive at 1pm, Charlie says they’ll arrive at 2pm. Safelite doesn’t arrive until 3pm. Safelite basically says that all they have to do is reattach it with the correct adhesive. No new windshield required. So basically safelite didn’t have to come and I shouldn’t have had to wait for them. A total of 2 trips and 6 hours. Additionally, after 2 days of walking in and out of the store to walk around the building to the mobile installation area multiple times, another salesperson walks 2 white customers directly through the door that leads right into mobile install area. It is infuriating that other customers get special treatment and I’ve had less than decent interactions. I felt extremely belittled, dismissed, and insulted by the employees at Best Buy Murrieta. I will never go to this location again. Lack of accountability or even decent level of service. No apologies from anyone. I deeply...
Read moreBest Buy used to be one of my favorite places. We're traveling cross country, first Best Buy in Princeton,NJ to pick up a Garmin I ordered on line.. I wanted the Garmin RV 1090 but could only order on line and sent it to my daughter in Los Angeles. Went to rear corner of the store looking at radios and monitors to upgrade. Couldn't find a blue shirt. I called the number listed for the store and the recording said the store doesn't accept calls and I was transferred to a national call center. I hung up. I purchased Sirius/XM Tour and home kit. Also bought a Bluetooth portable speaker. Stock in these stores is nothing. The shelves are empty. Made a comment about not finding anyone and got the deer in headlight stare. Lol Setting up in the parking lot, there were items missing from the Tour box. One of those items being the four screws used to attach the unit to the bracket. Made my trek across the parking lot (can't park a 37' RV anywhere you want lol) back inside had to explain I was just here 10 minutes ago showed the receipt and was finally allowed to return it. The manager told deer in headlight blue shirt to grab another (last one) off the shelf. His response was I'm not sure where it is. I said its not a big deal I'll get it. Now let's fast forward to Monday the 5th. Stopped at Best Buy in Murrieta, CA to see about upgrading back up camera and radio. Actually found a black shirt (not blue in this store) she added me to the list and said someone will be with you shortly. Black shirt showed up within 10 minutes. I explained what I want to do and that the monitor for the back up camera should be able to be on when not in reverse. I use it as my rear view mirror. His head almost exploded. He said this may be a great question for the installers. We went to install bays showed them pictures of current set up with tape measure in the photos. Told them right now the camera is hard wired but would change to wireless if that's the only option. He thought that 37' may be to far. 🤦♂️ also told them the unit needs to be satellite ready. Two installers only one talking. They couldn't get over the fact that my existing camera was able to be used as a rear view mirror while driving. I finally said let's forget about the camera what radio can I install that has a screen. Installer gave black shirt a model for single Din but wasn't sure if it was satellite ready. Of course they didn't have it. I thanked him for his time and he went on his merry way. My wife and I decided to just replace the radio. Now this gets even better. Checking out the radios on display found one for $169 scanned the QR code. Not available in store or surrounding stores AND not available to order on line. Lol. This happened with three other radios. Finally found a Kenwood for $89 and I would pick up in San Diego area. Haven't purchased because with Best Buys fabulous return policy I missed my window to return the Surius/XM Tour and the Home kit (which I still haven't opened) on July 4th. 14 day return window? Whatever. On the way out we saw the black shirt that "helped" us and I said the radios back there on display, you don't stock them and you can't order on line. His reply was "welcome to my world" And people wonder why brick and mortar stores are disappearing. Wow, I just saw how lengthy this is. Oh well, I'm...
Read moreToday I experienced the worst three individuals in Murrieta that I have met so far! I have been a Constant customer for the past two years that I have lived here in Murrieta and since retiring from over 20 years of service with the Marine Corps. No longer will this store get another penny of the many pennies my wife and I have spent in this store! Story time: As I was checking out with an obvious disgruntled empolyee, buying two movies with my teen kids by my side, I asked the cashier to put the receipt in the bag. The cashier then asked me if I had a problem and I said well your attitude is problem! He then said "who are you to be talking down to me" I said I'm not talking down to you, you just have a terrible attitude and he started taking off his ear piece and said "do you want to to start something" and I said "what the f!#$ is wrong with you" and so I started to walk around the desk to meet him because I didn't want him to try something next to my kids! When he got close I pushed him away from me while he was cussing and their security person got in between while letting their employee get close to me and putting his hand close to me. I pushed that cashiers hand away from me and accidentally touching the hand of the security persons hand, he then said do you want to go to jail in front of my kids. I said for what; touching your hand and he said Yes! The Manager Named Michelle came up and basically didn't care that her employee was starting a fight with a loyal customer and asked me to leave! While their security person was saying I pushed his hand which wasn't true. So I started walking out while she walked behind me with a smerk on her face...Not good, I shop there all the time and because of how they handled this situation I will never shop here again. I have never seen that employee and Now because of him, that security person, and Michelle the manager I will shop Amazon from now on for all my movie and electronic needs. Terrible, I will be talking with the Corporate Mangement as I informed Michelle and she she said "Whatever, Go Ahead". It's crazy how today's customer service has diminished! You don't have to take my complaint as truth but think about this; I was with my two kids buying movies like I normally do for our bi-weekly family night movie this weekend. Do you really think I went to the store I shop at At Least once a week to start a fight with a cashier whom I've never seen seen? Who knows I guess? Well 2 day shipping from Amazon just mean we have to plan our movies on Monday for Friday night. Sucks that we have to alter our movie selection tradition because of bad management processes and...
