My husband, 3 month newborn, and I were travelling. We decided to stay the night at the Country Inn & Suites due to the location, reviews, and pricing on September 15th. We stayed at the location to the Nashville airport. We paid a 200.00 cash deposit instead of using a credit card, because we were traveling and didn't want to tie up that money. We turn onto the hallway and there's immediately a loud buzzing, banging, and humming noise. The noise was so loud, it sounded like an explosion was about to happen. I thought maybe the noise would go away, however, once we got into our room, but it was still there. I didn't want to complain but I have a newborn child and we didn't pay that kind of money not to have comfort. So my husband informed the front desk. They advised us that the noise was due to all of the electrical and plumbing being located on that side. They admitted to knowing the problems, yet they still booked our family a room there. The electrical room was across the hall from the room we were originally in. They offered to move us to another room, away from the electrical side. they said they only had a room with 2 doubles. We were tired from traveling and took the room. We switched rooms and everything was okay. The next morning,I informed the front desk that we are checking out and for them to check the room. The front desk agent went to check the room. She then comes back and explains to my husband and I that because we smoked in the room that we would not be getting back our deposit. My husband does smoke. However, I do not. I breastfeed and we do not allow anyone to smoke around our newborn child. We escalated to the manager and he said the same thing. My husband was upset. He and the manager had a conversation that if the police came and could contest that the room had not been smoked in that we could have our deposit. So the police were called and noted in their report and to the hotel staff that no one had not smoked in the room. Although the police confirmed we had not smoked, the manager refused to refund our deposit and went back on his word. We took the information and filed a complaint. We were supposed to have someone respond within 24 to 48 hours & it's been a week, and we have not heard back as of yet. My husband and I are very dissapointed. The hotel manager and staff refused to compromise and went back on their word. My husband admitted that he smoked. They have cameras all over and we even asked them to review the cameras and they would see that my husband came outside to smoke. This is a very sad situation. That money was our travelling funds, which them not returning greatly impacted it. I would never allow my husband to smoke around our child. We could have easily went to a hotel that allowed smoking. This hotel was 150.00 for the night. We could have easily stayed in a hotel that cost less and allowed smoking. However, again we were looking for comfort and a nice hotel. So Thank you again, you earned that 350.00. You're quite welcome. We'll never stay at your...
Read moreInfo current as of 3/17/22. This is the best hotel that I have stayed at in recent years. I brought my son on a trip to Nashville for Spring Break, so we stayed 5 nights. Every staff member I encounter was exceptionally kind/friendly. Our room was immaculate and we received housekeeping while we were site seeing during the day. I booked a King Suite and I highly recommend a suite if you are traveling with family. The bedroom is seperated by a door from the living room space, so if people traveling together sleep at different bedtimes or wake up at different times in the morning, you can sleep without disturbing each other. There is a TV in the bedroom and living room with Direct TV - tons of channels to watch. FYI about the fridge in the room - it doesn't have a freezer and is pretty small, so it's something to keep in mind if you are packing perishable food. There are two separate closet spaces and a dresser which is really nice for organizing. The room is quiet and well insulated, I couldn't outside noises while in my room. Breakfast consisted of waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, mini muffins, granola bars, apples, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit cups, juice, milk, coffee. I was happy with the selection and the space is kept very clean. There is a pool on site but it is outdoors. During our stay it was drained so that it could be cleaned. There are washer/dryers on the first floor, where ice is kept as well. The first floor guest rooms are being renovated but it didn't disturb our stay at all - no dust or noise. The location is awesome, especially if you are seeing a show at the Grand Ole Opry. The Willie Nelson Museum, McDonald's, Mini Golf/Go Carts, a gas station, etc are all within easy walking distance. Downtown is an easy 15 min drive. Don't be intimidated to drive downtown but be prepared for some expensive parking rates - if you plan on staying downtown several hours, it might be better for you to have a driving service drop you off. I parked near the Ryman Auditorium and paid $30 for 2 hours of parking. I hope this review helps. I would book a room here again in...
Read moreWe stayed at the Country Inn & Suites Nashville for one night, we chose this hotel because it was super close to the Grand Ole Opry and had a pool. However, we were disappointed by several aspects of the hotel. Upon arrival we noticed the outdoor pool was closed, even though it was very 30+ degrees outside – the check in agent did not inform us of this either. I was not informed about this closure before I booked the hotel or before I arrived to allow me to re-arrange. This was a major letdown, as this was one of the main reasons, we booked this hotel.||The young girl that checked us in was not very friendly, resulting in a rather cold and unfriendly welcome. The hotel also did not honor my request for a top floor room that I made months in advance.||We were surprised to find that the hotel also did not have an elevator, so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs, which was crazy. The signs in the hotel were also not very clear, which made navigating around for finding my room and the ice machine difficult.||The room was decent, but nothing overly special. The bed was comfortable and large, and there was a fridge, a desk, and a big TV, but no safe. The bathroom although clean, was outdated and needed some renovation. The walls were thin, and I could hear the next-door shower and noise from upstairs. The worst part was that the cleaners started vacuuming the hallways at 8:30am, which woke us up, not good when people want to sleep in!||The check-out experience was better, with a very pleasant older lady who was much friendlier and wished us safe travels. ||Overall, we would most likely not stay here again and would give one of the many other options in the local area a try instead. Staying out at Opryland is a very good alternative to staying Downtown and paying Downtown pricing, but this hotel certainly needs some improvement on staff and...
