My husband and I are lovers of mid-century modern furnishings and consider ourselves astute students of the period having spent our careers in Interior Design and related fields. We devoted a portion of our morning perusing the holdings of Dashwood and were quite impressed with the quality and variety of Mid Mod furniture and décor. However, it is quite unlikely we will ever return to Dashwood as the proprietors of this business are extremely lacking in hospitality. When my husband said hello to one employee, she merely stared at him. When we checked out with a small purchase, a different employee was very dismissive, bordering on snobbery, when my husband offered a compliment regarding their collection of beautiful furnishings for sale. If you love mid century design and other complimentary styles, Dashwood should be your first stop when shopping for quality pieces. The owner has been wonderful to work with, even offering to find pieces that match what we’ve described to her. She’s lovely. My husband and I have bought multiple pieces there and when my mom saw them, she had to go check it out herself. She walked out with a beautiful mid century bedroom set and the price was great. Back to the owner, she is also does the procurement for the store and she has an exceptional eye for stunning furniture. I found this place on Facebook Marketplace and was immediately obsessed. As someone who has an affinity for MCM furniture, this place is a goldmine. I bought two of the most stunning chairs I’ve ever seen in my entire 21 years of living, and I am over the moon!!!! They’re gorgeous orange velvet with silver chrome hardware. I can’t believe they’re mine. And I can’t believe this place has existed this entire time without my knowledge!
