What a delightful trip it was for us. Four 'church ladies' decided to take a girl's trip and we could not have had a more perfect 3 days! Ron and Elenore were amazing and they thought of everything to make our stay so nice. We stayed in the newly opened Bost house, and all four of us had our own rooms, beds, bathrooms. (Two of the rooms did share a bathroom, which was perfectly fine.) The home was furnished in period décor, and every single accommodation was thought of. Including coffee service, IN HOUSE, and waiting when we woke up in the morning. Each room had ceiling fans, alarm clocks (with 'White Noise' options if you wanted it.) As well as an extra connection devise for charging your phones, ipads, etc. We all came in one vehicle, but, if there were different couples staying in the house, there was ample parking available. The Bost House is right next door to the main house, (The Devereaux Shields home,) and right down the street from Aunt Clara's Cottage, where we enjoyed our morning breakfasts. (Very enjoyable, I might add.) And boy oh boy, was the entire staff just wonderful to us! All room had their own TV's (although we never had time to watch TV, ha!...) The location was really quite nice because you were not in the middle of the main activity area, but really close to downtown. It felt like 'home' the minute we walked in and we could not have had a more pleasant trip.

My husband and I had the greatest experience of getting married at Devereaux Shields House. Everything was better than we could have imagined. Angela was so wonderful and on top of everything and made our wedding totally stress free. The home we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. We loved the bed and breakfast experience. Neither one of us had stayed at one before and we couldn't get over how wonderful it was. The breakfast was so delicious both mornings and we loved the people we met and sat with both mornings. Angela suggested the best place for us to dine, Magnolia Grill. Awesome place. We met both Eleanor and Ron the owners who were so nice. The photographer and preacher they suggested were wonderful. I can't say enough, how much we enjoyed everything about our stay. We are coming back for our 1 year anniversary. I can't wait! You won't regret staying here. Best experience ever!

Outstanding B&B centrally located within walking distance of several area attractions. The owners were wonderful and really have the whole B&B experience down to a science. We stayed in two different rooms during our three day stay and they were both perfect for our needs. You walk down to another one of their properties for breakfast, which was always amazing. That is where we met most of the staff and they were equally friendly and informative (about the area). You can not go wrong choosing this location for your Natchez area stay. Highly recommend it!!

We arrived a little early and called the number on the door so we could go and check in. Waited maybe 15 min before someone came to open the door and got a rushed tour of where we would be staying and the amenities. I purchased the romance package and was dissatisfied with it, cheap champagne a plant instead of flowers, and fudge instead of chocolates and some other small items definitely not what I was expecting. With this package came a carriage ride which I was so excited about, we were told that they were running for the evening, great right? Noooo, the woman didn’t tell us where to go exactly just said down the road across from a restaurant... ok after driving for a while not seeing any horse and buggy I have them a call. I asked where the horse and buggy were and was told that they weren’t doing rides grrrr! Dinner was about the only good thing meeting a couple that was staying at the cottage as well, they shared their table with us. The nicest couple I’ve ever met! Went back to the cottage after dinner to settle in. The Victoria room is where we stayed, it was cute and cozy no complaints there. We told the woman when we arrived that we were leaving early the next day like around 7 or so our package included the breakfast which was something else we didn’t get... one thing I have to apologize for is accidentally breaking a lampshade bc I was trying to unplug a heater that was turned on making it hot. Emailed them about it and haven’t heard anything else from them. Don’t know if they will charge us or not for that. But all in all I won’t be returning I’m sure it doesn’t matter bc others seem to enjoy it. Horrible experience, nice street but trashy area surrounding, was a little scared at times. Didn’t get all our amenities and what we got was less than satisfactory. .....to the response of the owners, yes we arrived 45 min early sorry for that I didn’t know it was a huge inconvenience. You were made aware that we had pets bc when we booked our pet friendly room we were charged a pet fee for both dogs. No surprise there. We didn’t get a call or email asking if we had any special things we wanted in the basket that we received or a different beverage selection. We were also friendly towards everyone we met not rude people at all! We were told that the carriage ride would be running when we arrived and that was included in our package but it wasn’t, we still have the tickets as souvenirs I guess. Just thought I would defend myself before you tried to make me look like the bad guy here I have receipts and tickets if you would like to see them for proof. Not trying to be argumentative just making a honest review and taking up for myself....

I expected so much more this was my wife and I's first trip to Natchez, MS First B&B 8th year anniversary. We knocked on the door a lady answers welcoming us in. She starts off my partner John and I are sitting inn for the owners. I thought thats nice as long as they know about Natchez. So we walk up to our room my father had John go pick out red wine flowers and fruit tray. (wine was terrible) but everyone has different taste.Thoughts on our room it was nice and clean. The bathroom has plaster falling and peeling off the walls. Why not repair this the home looked like it was falling apart! Moving on We go downstairs to pay and collect info about Natchez. The couple that is sitting in is from Wisconsin and they know zilch about Natchez other than they surrendered to the North so the homes weren't burnt which isn't totally true. I paid for the carriage ride and dinner package. The Carriage ride never happened other than collecting 2 generic tickets. The couple didn't know where to get on or what company is called or anything they referred us back to the map. Next we ask about the nightlife they refer us to the map. When I go to a new town I like to ask locals where the good bars, restaurants things to do are. This was not the case they weren't even local sitters. They were nice folks just didn't know about Natchez other than what the home owners briefly explained to them. Next time you want to go on vacation I would ask a neighbor or friend to sit in for you or just close. Maybe just close in Feb because their were very few places open in Natchez and the fine dining was horrible. Monmouth should be closed and not recommended to future guest. The piano guy would got to each table asking for request that he couldn't even play oh wait their was only us and 1 other couple eating. Their special was a $22 catfish filet A is singular. We wanted to walk out but that wouldn't be very nice so we muscled down the cold pork loin and box creamed potatoes so we could waste our money. You guys should recommend Biscuit and Blues, The Camp their food was the best in town. Under the hill Saloon was nice had character. Good luck in the future we will not be recommending your...
