I’ve stayed in many of the hotels / motels in the area and Broad Street Inn is by far the best in terms of cleanliness and friendliness. This charming, quaint Inn right downtown Nevada City is super clean & quiet. The Innkeepers are very knowledgeable about the area and all the activities going on around town, whether indoor or outdoor. The rooms are very clean and the beds are super cozy. There is a nice sunroom that has tea and great locally roasted coffee, not that cheap swill you get at most places. It also has a small fridge, toaster and microwave if you want to bring your own snacks. There’s a great outdoor patio in the back with a fire pit, it’s a nice, soothing place to relax with a glass of wine. There’s also a nice front patio where you can watch the many parades that happen throughout the year…again, wine in hand! Nevada City has some great restaurants, shops and theaters all within walking distance of the Inn. Broad Street Inn also has all of the local restaurant menus in the lobby you can peruse without having to walk all over town trying to figure out who’s serving what. The lobby area has a couple of nice comfy couches, a laptop for guest use and is chock full of information on the local happenings. Then there’s Dot, the dachshund mix, who greets you when you check in, she is cuter than a bug’s ear and I always look forward to seeing her. Broad Street Inn is not a bed & breakfast, but with all the great restaurants and coffee houses in Nevada City and Grass Valley to...
Read moreMy daughter and I spent three nights at this beautiful, peaceful B&B. I cannot say enough about Ron and Julie's hospitality, assistance with local activities and eateries, and the overall wonderful experience we had. We stayed in Room 6, which is well laid out with nice big windows that provide a cool breeze at night. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not hear any of the other guests in their rooms. I chose Room 6 because it was the furthest from the other rooms; however, the home is so well insulated that that was not a concern.
Room 6 is close to the sunroom, which offers coffee, tea, fresh biscotti, a microwave, toaster, a mini fridge, and as well as other amenities. Just outside the sunroom is a breath-taking patio where you can quietly read a book and just sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Broad Street Inn is walking distance to town, close to lakes like Scotts Flat or Rollins Lake and the Yuba River State Park. We rented kayaks at Rollins Lake (Scotts Flat wasn't open yet for kayak rentals) and spent another day at the Yuba River.
The whole experience was incredible. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful place to stay, I highly recommend...
Read moreStayed here on a whim for one night! I stayed in room 5, which was very quiet and upstairs! The bed was super comfortable and I slept so well! There is no individual ac in the room but the fan cooled the place off in short order. It was a hot day but the room was very comfortable with the fan on.
There is a mini fridge and microwave in the communal area to put stuff in, If needed. The people who run the inn are so sweet and kind. There is also a coffee/tea bar for the guests. There is not a full breakfast but the homemade biscotti was delicious. The WiFi worked well enough to do some work on the patio and to stream tv in my room. There is a tv in the room as well!
This inn is walking distance to downtown, just a couple blocks! Be aware that the town is hilly. I wore tennis shoes the entire time. The recommendations on the inn’s website were amazing. I tried Treats and the walk to the suspension bridge and both were awesome!
I was able to take a peek into the empty rooms after folks left and room 3 has a writing desk— I hope to grab that...
