This is the best farmer’s market in Nevada County! I go here every weekend to pick up fresh organic fruit and veggies. There’s multiple local organic farms that sell their produce here. The farmer’s market in GV only has a couple of organic farmers that go there.
Also, there’s a family that sells grass-fed meats from Penn Valley. They sell beef, chicken, and pork products all from their local farm. It’s really tasty meat. There’s also a guy who sells fresh-caught fish including king salmon.
The atmosphere is chill and friendly, and they block off a small street in the historic downtown part of Nevada City. Afterwards I like to catch a bite to eat at nearby restaurants (there’s quite a few really good ones) or browse in the shops in downtown Nevada City.

They do have really delicious fruit stands and some pretty unique and beautiful artwork/crafts. Everything is a tad pricey, but that pretty much par for the course in this kitchy (hippy) town.
