Golden Era Cocktail Bar and Lounge — Restaurant in Nevada City

When ever I walk by this place they usually got jazz playing from a live band, as well as the night I went. They had a five dollar cover charge to get in, and the place was so packed that I was standing the first 30 or 40 minutes I was there before some chairs cleared up. Granted it was St. Patrick's Day, so the place probably isn't this packed normally.

Everyone there seemed pretty friendly, and everyone was pretty cautious about each other's space when trying to walk by each other. I've been to bars where people aren't aware or flat out don't care if they bump into other people and spill their drinks on you, so I'm very appreciative of everyone being so respectful of each other's space.

Overall this place is pretty hoppin and an upbeat place to be. The band that was there that night was pretty good, as they had a mix of brass instruments, a skilled guitarist and a bassist rocking a six string. Its worth checking out if...

I love the Golden Era. We have our ladies nights here and we dress to the nines (as they used to day) and go in full glam style. It is so much fun and the whole town gets such a kick out of us ladies all dressed and fancy. Golden Era has done such an amazing job at shifting with all the pandemic changes and providing a safe welcoming fun space. They added food, so now you can enjoy live music, cocktails and food! Check the website for live music nights - its not every night, usually weekends and special add on nights. The outdoor area they created with tents, tables, heaters and a stage for live music has been such a gift throughout all this Covid mess! From the homemade syrups used to make amazing specialty cocktails to the super fun and kind staff, it's a must for date night, girls night out or when company comes to town. Very pricey drinks considering they mostly use bottom shelf booze. The owner is a miserable person and was extremely rude to us and made us leave.. She was HARASSING us saying "she can't pay her rent if we are there too long" and "this isn't a Starbucks where you can just hangout" (mind you we had only been there two hours and had ordered hundreds of dollars worth of drinks and we were STILL ordering) Really? Youd get better customer service...
