Bride & grooms beware! While this is an absolutely beautiful venue, the staff and management are completely incompetent and unprofessional.
I signed our contract and paid our deposit. Due to a misunderstanding my groom to be, told them we will not being using the venue. The misunderstanding was that we were no longer using the alcohol vendors we had chosen as the foundry kept changing their alcohol policy (after contract had been signed mind you!) and we now had to pick from their list. Their list is a joke. When putting on an upscale event in the winter a few of our choices were margaritas (bc that's winter appropriate!) and PBR. Miners Foundry... do you provide the paper bags for our guests or do we? Complete joke of a selection.
What's the most important point is what if my groom to be and I were cancelling our wedding? What if he was jilted? You do other events there besides weddings and CONSIDERING THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED BY ME AND ME ALONE, do you normally cancel contracts based off the word of someone not on the contract? So Joe Schmo off the street called in to say my event was cancelled, you'll just cancel it? No verbal confirmation from who the contract is actually signed with? No calls? Nothing?
After the misunderstanding was clarified, I was told they were sorry and had rebooked our date. They also told me I had to communicate ONLY through their cute little app. This in itself is very unprofessional considering you have clients spending 50-100k plus to host an event there.
The icing on the cake is while this was their mistake, the contract was breached in multiple ways, no offer of refunding my deposit. They call themselves a non-profit, but they are clearly for profit.
Please reconsider this venue, at least until they can get some new management in place.
If you feel Miner's Foundry was deceitful to you. Please reach out to me. I am taking legal action as a matter of principle so this place can be held accountable for their horrible management and constantly changing policies!

The building has great acoustics, an excellent sound system, an expansive hardwood dance floor and a large bar in an adjacent room.
I came for a concert last weekend and had a fantastic time, with pretty much the entire audience dancing the whole time!! The air conditioning could use an upgrade, as it can get quite hot inside when the temperature outside is pushing 100Β°F.
The Miners Foundry was built in 1855, as a foundry and blacksmith shop to repair and replace heavy mining machinery and equipment in the surrounding foothills. At the height of operation, it employed around 150 iron workers. There are lots of interesting artifacts and photograph on display throughout the building to learn about its place in...
Β Β Β Read moreThis is a wonderful small multi-purpose venue used for a wide variety of events including, concerts, plays, weddings and festivals. Today we attended their 2019 Spring craft fair. There appeared to be upwards of thirty booths with a huge range of beautiful handcrafted items ranging from jewelry to clothing to artwork. All very high quality. They even had a small bar set up serving local wines and beers. A very nice way to spend a beautiful Spring afternoon!
A quick note about this building. It started out as a foundry and machine shop servicing the mining industry in the 1850's and there is a great deal of history here! It's right in the heart of beautiful downtown Nevada City so there are tons of things to see and do while you're in town.
I urge you to go on their website and check out upcoming events. It's well worth the drive up into the beautiful...
