Lovely old and restored theater! It is a little chilly inside in the winter so bring a lap blanket if you tend to get cold. The theater walkways have a steeper grade than some theaters. It is a great venue for seeing your favorite performances up close and personal. They usually have home baked goods and beverages for sale at the concession stand. Parking is a little tricky because the theater is at the top of a hill on Broad Street, the parking lot for the theater is on a slanted grade, so if you drive a wheelchair accessible van with a lift parking can be a little tricky. I found a disabled parking spot at the bottom of the hill in front of the Miners Foundry, but if you have a 6 ft space lift/ramp requirement it may not work for you as a sidewalk is a little narrow there where the lift or ramp deploys. My lift has a side entry on the lift so I am able to park in narrower spots that most require. They have a huge ADA bathroom that you could probably fit four wheelchairs into. The folks at the theater are extremely helpful and will assist if needed to get down the walkway and to your seat inside the theater. There are only a couple of designated wheelchair seats. They are to the far right and in the very front near the stage. They are great for seeing performances up close, but when you sit off to the side sometimes the side speakers are a little loud and the acoustics are not as full when you are off to the side have any theater. If you are able to transfer you can park your wheelchair near the stage as long as it does not obstruct views or access for others. I love going to the theater and arrive early to make sure I get my favorite seating. I do transfer, so I like to sit in the front center! The sound system there is wonderful, we go back as often as we are able to hear our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I were invited by a family friend to watch RENT at Nevada Theater this past weekend while visiting, and I loved it! The theater is small and perfect for that personal feel experience and the atmosphere was overall fun. Parking is not great however, so definitely be there early (we got super lucky and found parking just as someone was leaving from right across the theater) The play itself was really good and had a very talented cast, and the theater staff were very friendly and polite. They had refreshments (including cocktails) and snacks available before and during intermission. Finally, I believe they have 3 bathrooms. One for the ladies, one for the gentlemen, and one for both. The one I went to was the one for both, which was for just one person. I don't know if bathroom for ladies or gents had more stalls, or how many, but the ladies line was looong ( I had just one person ahead of me, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here tonight to see Where The Mountain Meets The Moon, with my mom as her Motherās Day gift. I bought the tickets a couple hours before the show and they were the very last two so I snagged them quick, and hoped when we got there they may be able to help us sit together. I have always worked in customer service and was really taken back by how Jeannie at the box office spoke to me. She was actually nasty. I asked if there was anything they could do to work with us, and when told no, my mom said she didnāt really want to go if we couldnāt sit together. I kindly asked if a refund would be possible and she basically snarled at us, visibly rolled her eyes and kept them up, harped on us and made us feel really bad. She did not talk to us like weāre people. Not being able to accommodate us would have been fine, she could have said no with grace, really bummed with how we...
