The hotel was nice and well-located to the French Quarter; however, our purpose of booking was to attend the Sunday afternoon showing of Wicked before leaving the city.
We visit New Orleans often for Saints games and other events, and always call the hotels directly first to ensure we can leave our car parked with their valet after checking out on our day of departure until our event is over at no extra charge before we book the hotel. If we will be charged extra, we opt to stay at a different hotel that doesn't charge for leaving the car there longer (and there are plenty in the city that offer that, we just wanted a hotel in this area that did).
When I called the hotel directly, I was told we would be able to leave our car valeted until our event was over at no additional charge to our nightly valet fee.
Upon checkout, the valet walked us to the car to put our luggage in since they do not stow the luggage for you (totally fine, parking lot is just across the road). While we were loading up, another valet stopped and commented "You know there's an extra fee for leaving it after noon, right?" Without him mentioning it, we would have been charged without any knowledge, because the front desk never made mention of it at any point. We told him what we had been originally told, and he said he would go to the front desk and speak with them. We went back in and he directed me to the front desk and they informed us we would be charged another $22+tax after 12pm for 4 additional hours of parking, then charged again after 4 hours--they also claimed people in Reservations don't know the parking policy--that doesn't sound like that should be the customer's problem and should definitely be addressed if people are only speaking to reservations when they call and MAKE A RESERVATION.
Long story to say--be honest with the customers. The front desk may have known I wouldn't have booked if I knew there would be an additional charge, or they may not have cared at all. If reservations truly does not know the parking policies, that needs to be rectified immediately. If that's your parking policy, fine--I'm not saying change it. I'm just saying be transparent about it so I can make a decision based on correct...
Read moreEvery staff member we encountered was exceptional. The hospitality of the staff was always top notch. Valet always did a wonderful job of being prompt when we texted for our vehicle, the door was opened for us a multitude of times, warm conversations were had with the front of the house staff that made us feel very welcome. Our room service team were wonderfully pleasant. The gave us privacy when asked and service when we needed it. The were very kind. We are so thankful. The reason I didn't give the entire stay a five is because there are some things that had been overlooked that, in general, would overall have made our experience more pleasing. The elevators are quite slow and the certificates in them expired December 2024. It is April 2025. Perhaps it has occurred and the certificate just hasn't been updated, I am not sure. The bathroom door having a large glass section of the door means using the bathroom at night while the rest of the room is sleeping is quite tricky. It lights up the whole room quite a bit. Adding some type of window covering there on the outside would help a LOT. Also, the bathroom had ZERO ventilation. We were sort of mindblown at that. Showering was quite stifling in general. The hairdryer had a melted end and barely worked. When I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk she immediately took action to correct the situation. It was just a little detail that could have been caught had the room been fully inspected. The beds looked nice but were not the most comfortable. There was room for at least one queen and that would have been awesome for a family of 3 like ours. The tv is slowing dying. There are two spots burnt into the screen that are brighter than the rest and it is quite distracting. The remote was very subpar with functionality. We didn't bring these things up to the front desk so they had no opportunity to correct the situation. We weren't trying to seem like we were up there being difficult. They were so kind. The balcony was awesome. The chairs could have used a cushion to help with comfort. It was hard to stay out there long periods of time because the metal chairs were just stiff on the...

Beware: The front desks may hand you a plastic bag with coupons and plastic coins. It’s not complimentary! It’s not free! It’s $25 a day!
Note: We called in advance to inform the front desks that we are arriving in late. We checked in past 9pm.
We reserved four nights 7/29, 7/30, 7/31, 8/1, will checked out 8/2.
When we checked in, the front desk handed us a small plastic bag with a cheap water bottle with their logo on it, four coupons to be use at their restaurant (apparently , one coupon for each night of stay) and four plastic coins to be use at the concierge to get some discount on local tours. The front desks made it sound like it’s a complimentary gift bag, it took me a few to process that the bag is not “complimentary”. It’s $25.
I checked the bag, the restaurant “coupons” has dates written on them 7/29, 7/30, 7/31 and 8/1.
After I put up our bags, I returned to the front desks and asked what and how I can use the coupon, she explained that the coupon is to get discount at the restaurant and the coin is to her discount at the concierge. I showed her my 7/29 coupon, then she said, “You missed it” It’s past 9pm, their restaurant and concierge is already close. The front desks knowingly gave me a bag with coupon and coin that I obviously can no longer use today 7/29.
I had to ask again because I am genuinely confused, how is this bag coupons a “complimentary”, she then clarified that there will be a $25 a day charge . Make that make sense.
None of that is mentioned on the website and none of that makes sense.
I returned the “complimentary” bag to the front desks and made it clear to the female at the desk that I do not want it. I do not need it.
I will add update to this...
