This is by far one of the worst hotels I've had the displeasure of staying at. Beyond the veil of the deceivingly clean and modern lobby area and good location, lies extremely disappointing rooms and even worse service.||To give credit where credits due, the hotel lobby and the dining area in the back is immaculate. Brightly lit, clean and matched with a minimalistic-modern look - exactly what I would expect of a hotel that opened not even a year ago. However do not be deceived, as the second you step into the elevator you'll be transported elsewhere. The bright, clean, modern look you were met with in the lobby is no more; instead you're met with very dimly lit, dull floors with an overall vibe that can only be described as something out of the 90's, or in one word, dated. From the wallpaper to the flooring to the room doors, nothing particularly screamed "new".||Rooms:|The rooms are nothing special by any means. At first glance, one can only describe the room as a perfectly standard hotel room, no bells and whistles, not particularly dated, but definitely not screaming "newly-renovated-and-opened-less-than-a-year-ago". However, the devil is in the details.|- Buttons on the phone to reach the front desk and in-room dining don't actually work. Instead of connecting you anywhere, you're instead greeted with a piercing tone. If you're looking for in-room dining, better hunt down a QR code in the elevators, or find the menu where you'll be given an extension that works.|- Rooms fortunately have mini fridges that you can use! Unfortunately, our fridge didn't actually work - failing to keep anything cold or even remotely cool, but instead doing a great job covering our beverages in what I can only assume is dirty fridge condensation/water.|- Keeping true to the modern theme in the lobby, our room had a sliding barn bathroom door, made with heavy-duty wood operating on a simple wheel/rail system. |However, don't be fooled as the doors don't actually close all the way, always leaving a 3-4 inch gap for you watch your travel partner as you're doing your business. In our particular case, one of the wheels on the door did not properly sit on the rail, which caused the doors to be near impossible to open if you closed them all the way.|- Sinks were out of the world, with water pressure closer to what I would expect from a pressure washer than a typical bathroom sink. However, the drainage did not match, taking several minutes to drain each time.|- Showers were just a sectioned off area, with the flooring at the same level as the rest of the washroom. This combined with the lack of a shower door resulted in the possibility of water seeping into the rest of washroom area.|- The actual caulking in the entire washroom was not remotely even/straight, which gave off a feeling of being extremely rushed and just made the bathroom itself feel dirty.||Service:|The service can only be described as on-par with the overall experience; that is to say, horrible. Our flight into NYC was delayed. Instead of arriving around 10PM, we would arrive at approximately 9AM the next day. We called the hotel as soon as we found out, letting them know that we would be arriving in the morning of the next day. Hotel staff assured us that they would put a note on our reservation, and that we would be able to check-in upon our arrival. This did not happen. Upon arriving, we were told that there was no note on the reservation, and we were marked as a no-show. Despite having paid for the room, we would not get one until 3PM. Attitude of the manager definitely did not help, as she informed us that they were fully booked, but would still honor our reservation since they made the mistake (as though they were doing us a favor by allowing us to check into our room one day late). Only compensation they could offer us was an upgraded room (a higher floor, as all the rooms were identical otherwise) and a discount on the second night (which was 1. already half the price of the first night, and 2. as of writing this review 2 weeks after checking out, we never...

Read moreDo not spend your money here. Read goodly reviews and do not rely on Expedia or any 3rd party site reviews. This hotel is nothing special and the staff at the front desk are so rude and spiteful if there is any issues whatsoever. Here is my honest review and experience.
Immediately upon check in everyone was friendly. When we got to our room (at 2:30) we looked around and noticed it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. There was stains on the bench, public hairs on the toilet, hairs in the bed, hairs on the bathroom sink, dirt on the chest of drawers, not to mention the dust and dirt accumulated on everything else. I immediately called the front desk, told them I’m sorry to be a hassle but the room wasn’t clean. The staffs tone did a complete 180, they immediately snapped at me that I would need to leave the room and wait until my check in time at 3pm if I wanted something done about it. So we did just that, I grabbed all our stuff and lugged it all back out of the room, went down to the lobby, spoke to the staff and they told me changing rooms was not an option because they were fully booked. They said instead they would be sending in another cleaning team and to allow them an hour (3:30) to clean the room. We left and came back at 5 after offering ample amounts of time to clean the room. Walked up to the front desk, told the same staff that we were here to pickup our bags, she told us directly to step to the side and wait for them. We get the bags, go back up to the room… not a single thing had changed or been cleaned again. At this point all we wanted was to shower and relax after a very very long day of travel, spending a lot of money on accommodations, and little to no sleep. Once again I call, the same staff says I’m so sorry about that I’m going to send the cleaning supervisor (can’t remember the term she used) up to clean it, please allow her 15 minutes. Once again, here we are waiting and it is now 2 hours and 15 minutes past check in time. She calls back and says she’s sorry she didn’t see me when we walked in, she meant to get my attention before we went up, they have a new room for us, and to return to the lobby for the new key. So here we go AGAIN, lugging all of our stuff up and down in complete exhaustion, growing more and more frustrated. We get to the desk, she said she didn’t see us when we walked in (she literally spoke directly to me) and asked if our key cards still worked to our old room, then said how weird that was because the moment we walked out almost 3 HOURS AGO they immediately switched our rooms. After saying there was none available. After telling me I had to wait hours. They did not call me to tell me, they did not wave me down as we stood outside in front of the hotel for 20 minutes afterwards, she had the absolute worst attitude and was 100% being spiteful. All of this is so incredibly unprofessional, disappointing to say the least, and I was not offered a single thing to compensate for our lost time on our very short vacation, or any of our troubles.
Aside from all of that— the room is just fine. The bed is pretty uncomfortable, the springs are definitely able to be felt in the bed and the pillows are lumpy which really sucks but Im just grateful that we will only be here for one more night. Only 3 elevators for staff and guests, very long waits. Very basic amenities. If the bathroom would’ve been clean that would’ve been the star of the show, mostly because of the lit mirror. The bathroom door is just a barn sliding door with giant gaps on the side so hopefully you’re very comfortable with the person you are traveling with and with hearing and smelling all the things coming from there. 1/10 rating, and the 1 is only because of the sweet girl who we spoke to at the front desk that seemed like a supervisor of some sort, she was the only one who seemed even remotely apologetic about this whole ridiculous situation. We’ll see if anything is done to rectify this situation or any compensation is offered for all the trouble. Given the lack of hospitality so far, I’d be...
