My friends and I come here at least a few times a month. We love the food and the amazing service we get from our favorite waiter, Jonathan. Unfortunately, there is a (new?) female staff person there whose attitude has been really souring our experience our past couple visits. It’s one thing that she typically scowls at us and seems annoyed to be there in the first place— I would be cranky too if I were a waitress in midtown. But tonight was really something special. First, she insisted we order at the counter even though we know they have table service, meaning we waited ages for her to come take our order until she finally insisted our entire group get up from our table (we were packed in tight with bags and stuff too) and walk the five feet to the register. Then, she took orders and served a different party at their table when they were seated after us. Then I asked for silverware and she gave me plastic cutlery, meanwhile everyone around me was given real silverware. Then she was clearly impatient to close and flicked the lights on a few minutes after 11 (they close at 11:30) and started interrupting our conversation every couple minutes to clear things from our table, putting chairs up on tables around us, and literally slamming trays behind the counter in a very intentionally noisy way to send the message that she wanted us to leave. (There were two other people there still seated at the bar by this time and she never approached or interrupted them.) I’ve worked countless hospitality jobs and understand that sometimes a server has a bad day. Closing sucks and customers that stay way past close reeeeally suck. We were careful to watch the clock and be ready to go when they were done for the night. Given all that, this waitress seems actively malicious towards me and my friends and there’s literally no reason for it. We’re kind to the staff. We tip well. We’re not rowdy or noisy and we don’t have complicated orders. If she wants to be grumpy, fine, but this level of hostility and unequal treatment is totally uncalled for and unprofessional. Read moreThe behavior of your manager on duty tonight, Jimmy Hernandez, is unacceptable. My brother, sister and I were at the movies and craving tacos. We googled best tacos in the area and Taqueria Diana was number 1 on our search. We entered your facility at around 12:10 am, noting that your business hours say you are open until 1:00 am, I immediately walked towards the kitchen to verify if it was still indeed open. The chef, Gabriel, (very hospitable) happily said yes to me when I asked and so I quickly placed my order for 6 tacos. My brother and sister behind me seemed like they were having a dispute with a gentleman outside. When I approached this man, I said hey, what’s going on ?? (thinking he was the security/bouncer or something since he was standing outside.) He said to my brother in a disgusting, condescending and very defensive tone, “the next time I tell you that we are closed, I mean it, you’re not getting in or getting food.” I said, “excuse me sir, who are you and why are you talking to him like that?.” He identified himself as the manager and engaged in an unnecessary back and forth with me about us not supposed to be ordering food and other stuff I can’t even remember. I was extremely uncomfortable. I asked for his name, he did not give it to me right away. He was very stand-off ish and rude and not listening. I couldn’t believe that he was in a managerial role. I hope this message reaches someone that cares about customer retention and can address this man because what he did tonight was unacceptable! Period. He also spent more time outside than inside, which I found very odd. In the end, our tacos were great. Read moreOrdered lunch for an office staff of 17. Telephone number did not work so had to find a way to order online. When received - (2) of the orders were incorrect, no condiments were included and (8) orders of fish tacos were combined instead of in individual containers. Called and was told fish tacos were packed to facilitate delivery - but no plates or cutlery were included so we could distribute accordingly; condiments not included because can only be picked up in person - this was DELIVERY and condiments had to be requested was not stated online. They substituted (2) different meals from what was ordered because they ran out - but no one called to let us know or give us another choice.
