An Unforgettable Adventure in the Escape Room Wonderland!
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Escape Room NYC with BG as my host, and I must say, it was an absolute thrill from start to finish! As an avid fan of escape rooms, I've had my fair share of adventures, but this one truly stood out.
From the moment we stepped into the immersive world of Escape Room NYC, we were transported to a different reality. The attention to detail in the set design was exceptional, creating an atmosphere that was both captivating and mysterious. The intricately themed rooms were a visual delight, and it was evident that a lot of effort had gone into crafting an authentic experience.
The puzzles and challenges presented throughout the escape room were intelligently designed, striking the perfect balance between difficulty and fun. Each puzzle was unique and required a combination of logical thinking, teamwork, and creativity to solve. The variety of puzzles kept us engaged and on our toes, ensuring that no two moments were alike. It was incredibly satisfying when we finally cracked each code and unveiled the next clue, propelling us further along our gripping journey.
One aspect that truly impressed me was the exceptional customer service we received. BG was enthusiastic, friendly, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience for us. She provided just the right amount of guidance and hints when needed, ensuring we never felt overwhelmed or stuck for too long. Their dedication to our enjoyment was evident, and it added an extra layer of enjoyment to our overall adventure.
Escape Room NYC managed to strike the perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment. The hour we spent inside the rooms was filled with excitement, laughter, and a genuine sense of accomplishment. It was a wonderful bonding experience for our group, as we had to communicate, collaborate, and think outside the box to succeed.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Escape Room NYC to anyone seeking an exhilarating adventure. Whether you're a seasoned escape room enthusiast or a first-timer, this immersive experience will leave you captivated and craving for more. Read more4 years later, I have returned to Mission Escape Games after doing more escape rooms in NYC. My friend and I did Escape the Hydeout. We had an amazing experience, and I felt more thrills since we both actively solved the puzzles. We went on a weekday, so it was $80 for a private room (huge plus), so $40/person, which is expensive, but we understand that it gets cheaper the more people you have. One thing to keep in mind while booking: I am the biggest scaredy-cat, and some of the sound effects combined with the dimly lit room made me scared. Just an FYI for other people who sympathize.
The pros: The puzzles at this franchise make a lot of sense. I've been to other escape rooms where there is no logical connection to what unlocks what. I also like that their locks vary in type, and some cool technology is applied. The room also doesn't follow the typical linear pattern, which provides a level of challenge that I enjoyed. The scene is well done and immersive.
The cons: I do not like that the room is not well-lit, and you cannot use a phone flashlight. Maybe some people think looking at things in dim light enhances the experience, but I think the room's challenge would not be compromised will SLIGHTLY better lighting. There were also several times where I asked for a hint, and the moderator would not be responsive. This wasted a few minutes of time, and there were things that I could've been working on that were not what my friend was working on. There was also an area of the room not in view of the hint board, so if they ever redesign this room, I think the time and hint board should be visible at any given point.
I know visually my cons looks longer than the pros, but the puzzles making sense is such a huge plus that it outweighs the cons. We were told that we could attempt their Cyberpunk Carbon room with 2 people, but that would bring the price to $45, which is pricey. Since I did Operation End of Days 4 years ago, it seems like there isn't too much change in the rooms, so hopefully they can get more space with different rooms. I also wish they gave discounts for returning customers. Overall, if you go with a smaller group, you will have a...
Read moreOf the three escape rooms I've ever done, this place had the most interesting puzzles and was a great experience. Our group of five had a 1:45 PM appointment so we showed up around 1:20 PM. We were required to show vaccine proof and place our belongings on the hooks (which aren't part of the game, just so you know) of the room that hosts End of Days B (fits six people), so there're no lockers as far as I know. Bathrooms are outside the suite's door, two toilets per mens/women's room.
The End of Days B itself had low light, I suppose to fit the aesthetic but a bit more light could've been nice but we were all still able to do the puzzles. There's a giant pillar/column in the room so it can be a bit claustrophobic for some, but our group was fine with it. We were allowed three hints but the gamemasters were not strict with it and gave more hints and eventually partial answers to keep the flow of our game going.
In the end, we ran out of time but we were close enough to beating the game and I think no other appointments were going on so it seemed they gave us extra time to finish to our satisfaction. They take a picture in front of the wall near the front desk after you're done but our person only took it once (we didn't ask for more, but I assumed the shot was nice for just one shot), so if someone blinks or isn't looking, then that'll end up showing, as it ended up being in our case. They text you the photo within thirty to sixty minutes. Even then, the smoothness of the check in and the game itself are enough to keep this...
