We loved the coffee and food at Madman Espresso and Bagels so much that we had breakfast here every day on each of the 3 days during our trip to New York City.

For food we got:

Avocado toast on bagel/white bread—the guacamole was just the right amount of kick to start the day with light seasoning included.

Besto—Pesto, eggs, chicken, tomato, avocado and cheese—amazing mix of fresh ingredients which brightened our mornings

Healthy Madman—The eggs and avocado helped provide us with our protein fix for the day besides being tasty.

For drinks we got:

Madmanchino—I’ve been a chai lover and chai with chocolate, cinnamon and double shots of espresso was a pure delight. I highly recommend it.

Sarabella—Honey and cinnamon made for a great drink too.

The location was pretty convenient—right next to our hotel. Mornings can be busy but the staff tries their best to keep the rush moving.

They’ve a slew of other food items including sandwiches and bagels, and a long list of delicious drinks too that include teas and coffees, all of which are worth checking out. The seating area inside is small.

Overall, it was a highlight on our trip to...

A hidden, slightly chaotic gem tucked not that far away from grand central. This place walks the line between classic NYC deli hustle and espresso bar cool, complete with Picasso-inspired murals, racks of bagels, and a crowd that always seems to be half locals, half wandering coffee pilgrims.

I tried their lox and loaded on an everything bagel—salmon, avocado, cream cheese. It was fine, fresh enough, but didn’t quite pop. It’s one of those bagels that’s technically good, but doesn’t crave a revisit. Their menu, though, is stacked with personality: the “Madtuna,” “Mr. Salami,” “Don Prosciutto”—clearly having fun here.

Interior’s got charm in a scruffy way. There’s wall art everywhere—eclectic, New York-y, and oddly comforting—and the vibe is casual, maybe a bit cramped, but people seem genuinely into it. Great place to hang by the window and people-watch with a croissant and a...

My favorite local coffee shop. Truly a hidden gem.

From the second you walk in you are greeted by the most exceptional people. The staff is incredibly friendly and warm, and the owner genuinely cares about customer experience and satisfaction.

Their coffee and espresso-based drinks are top-notch. My usual order is an iced latte with oat milk. (They customize it slightly for my liking with the perfect ratio of espresso to milk.) If you want something sweeter, try the Sarabella (double espresso, honey, and cinnamon) or one of their other signature drinks. They also have delicious breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and bagels. So many options!

Thank you to everyone at Madman Espresso & Bagels (on 44th Street) for making my days brighter and sweeter. I consider you...

Great place if you are looking to get a quick lunch with friends. I got a greens goddess bagel which was an omelet with spinach, chives, scallions, and basil and had avocado and green goddess dressing. It was $11 with tax and filled me up. My friend got. Roast beef bagel and he loved his as well. They have small tables for seating and good place for coffee chats. Went back and got the besto bagel this time. I substituted regular bacon for turkey bacon. I liked it but I preferred the green goddess. The pesto was a little too dry for me. Tip add some salt and pepper if you get this bagel. Still enjoyed my experience and went with my friend again because he loved it.
