Tracing their Islam in America back to African ancestors, and reinforcing their Islam with African-trained hafiz prayer leaders in Ramadan, the masjid offers a wholesome and redemptive experience, especially for those of African descent. All Muslims are welcome though (and yes there are regulars of every shade and background). If you're early enough to get a spot on Jumah Friday, it's better to expect to stay as the kutbas go for a good 45-55 worthy minutes and with the prayer and networking afterwards, don't expect to leave before 2:30.
