Had issues checking in with my girlfriend. Called in a little before noon and found out that the room we'd initially reserved wouldn't be ready until 3pm but there was another similar room available. We got to the hotel slightly after noon, where we found that the room we'd been told would be reserved for us was given to another guest because the girl at the front desk "didn't think we'd be there within an hour." We'd wanted a room with a king bed; unfortunately the only available room was one with two queen beds. We took the room, even though we flip-flopped over having that room or one with a king bed. In the end, we kept the room with the two queen beds because it was a slightly larger room, and most importantly to us, has a full bath with a tub instead of just a shower stall. The rooms themselves are quite nice. The beds are comfortable, there is ample countertop space, and the fridge is quite spacious. The sitting area can be partitioned off by a curtain, which is nice because it doesn't cut off view to the TV from both the bed or the sitting area. It's nice to see that the couch has a pullout bed in it; it could easily fit one person on it. The hotel itself looks quite new; there are signs saying as much. One of the more interesting things is that there is a grill out on the pool area, which is something I don't often see. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a hot tub, which I would've liked. I also like that there is a continental breakfast as well. There are also nearby restaurants and stores in case it doesn't interest you. They have a small convenience store in the lobby, but there isn't a very large selection of items, so going to a nearby grocery store may be a better option for a...
Read moreAs a traveling healthcare provider and a titanium elite Marriott member, I always book my stays at the Marriott hotel. On one business trip, the Newnan TownePlace Suites Marriott hotel booked me a room at the Newnan Home2suites due to being fully booked at the Marriott’s expense as a curtsey. Unfortunately, on my next scheduled business trip to Newnan, I decided to book a room at the Newnan home2 suites hotel and give it a chance. Unexpectedly, my work location was changed the last minute , so I had to travel to another city. Due to busyness of travel, I forgot to cancel my reservation with the Newnan Home2suites hotel. The manger of the hotel didn’t hesitate to charge my credit card without giving me a call to see if I was coming or not, or having me checked in. She also made sure to put a note in the system so no refund would be applied while she was not there. I called and explained the situation to a professional front desk lady who couldn’t help due to her manger’s instructions. Not only that, the manger fought this fee for over 3 months to get the money by being petty. The manger got less than $200, but she lost thousands of dollars on the long term. Ma’am, you lost the chance to win a loyal Marriott customer to become a Hilton one. This is pure demonstration of crappy customer service and poor management. It was never about the money, it was about customer satisfaction and longevity of keeping customers in-house. You surely lost not only one customer, but all the other colleagues whom could have been referred to your location. I advise all other customers reading this post to seek another hotel with professional management and stay away from Newnan...
Read moreThe hotel and property were very well kept and clean. It is located a short distance from shopping centers and several restaurants, both fast food and restaurants where you can get a better meal. However, the hotel itself was very quiet with no noise from traffic at night. The rooms are upscale and equipped with everything you would need for an extended stay. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the sheets on the bed - they are higher than the usual thread count and very soft. Some of the hotel staff were quirky. For instance, while I was parking our car, my wife tried to check in. The gentleman at the front desk wouldn't allow her to do so and made a weird joke out of it until I came in. My wife sent a note to corporate Hilton to complain about this as his behavior was inappropriate. The front desk staff in the morning were much more polite and helpful. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. I was surprised by this as they have posters in the elevators claiming how good it is. Hampton Inns have better breakfasts than this hotel did. While I will not stay at this hotel again, I'm sure that some people will probably love it. I travel 100% of the time for work so I have experience with a large and diverse range of hotels. This particular hotel needs some work on their staff and could easily improve their...
