Mediterranean food is in my top three list as favorites go, so I'm always up for it. Yesterday, I found myself hungry and in the vscinity of Pita Mediterranean Street Food in Ashley Park. I almost didn't go in as the last couple of visits to that location left me pretty flat, but my mouth was seriously craving gyro meat, so...

I should have gone with my first thought.

The restaurant is located in a bit of a nook and doesn't get a lot if light, so it doesn't feel vibrant to begin with. The bare concrete floors do nothing to help the dark mood of the place, and on my last visit, that was compounded by sticky. Short of the entry at the back of the building, the entire floor was sticky and gross. I mean I get it; it's a working restaurant, and it was just after lunch. I was willing to overlook it even, but I had to pick up the legs of the chair before I could pull it out as it was literally stuck to the floor!

I got my order to go. As I said, I've been to Pita (varying locations) many times and have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Mouth watering and ready for the (usually) scummy, thick-sliced, perfectly grilled vegetables, I was greeted with three small pieces of carrot and one and a half pieces of zucchini. These were not the usual thick perfectly cooked slices I craved. The carrots were over cooked charred on the edges and dry--the zucchini wedges overcooked on one side, dried out on the other. I have no real complaint about the gyro meat or hummus--though I do wonder at the $1 upcharge for selecting two tablespoons of hummus as a side.

This review is Ashley Park specific, as other locations have been better, but since moving to Georgia in 2016, I think the menu changes (all locations) have become more limited, and the quality (again all locations)...

PITA Mediterranean Street Food in Newnan easily earns five stars. I’m visiting the area for two weeks, and after just one visit, I already know this will be my go-to spot for both lunch and dinner. The food was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter, and it was cooked just right. The seasoning was spot on, the chicken was tender, and the sides pulled everything together perfectly. The portion was generous without being too heavy, and it came out quickly, which I appreciated. There were no issues with the order at all, which says a lot about how well they run the kitchen.

The dining area was spacious and clean, with more than enough seating for a comfortable experience. I was especially impressed by how clean and thoughtful everything felt. The spoons and forks were individually sealed at the tip, which was a brilliant touch. It’s a small detail, but one that really stood out to me because it shows how much they care about hygiene and presentation. You don’t see that kind of effort in many fast-casual places, and it really made a difference.

The service was smooth and efficient, and the whole place had a welcoming vibe. It’s not just a place to grab something quick, it’s the kind of spot where you actually want to sit and enjoy your meal. Between the quality of the food, the cleanliness, and the relaxed setup, this place checks every box. I’ll definitely be coming back several more times while...

We went in before the lunch rush. There were 2 people behind the counter. One young man who was bouncing from station to station & one lady who was obviously trying to look busy.

The lady was behind the till but still ignored us, we waited for about 4 minutes thinking she might be online or on the phone (though she never spoke.) She looked right at us several times but then just looked away, not even a single acknowledgment.

Eventually, an older guy walked in, and the girl started actually doing things. The man said we needed to order at the tablet a few feet away. Why the lady couldn't tell us that, I don't know.

After ordering, it took 20 minutes to make a steak salad & a sandwich. There was literally a spoons worth of steak (which was a $5 upcharge) so asked for more. My companions food was almost over, when I checked again & was able to get a small deli cup of extreamly salty, minced to ground beef size peices, of steak.

I hate to mention this, but another customer noticed the lady behind the counter actively ignoring some people, but quick to answer others. If the delay & subpar food wasn't enough reason for me to never go back, her attitude was. I never interacted with the young man, he was too busy. And the other guy was polite but obviously busy & being pulled in...

The worst food ever tried worldwide, I ordered take away based on all reviews but let me tell why my review is one start: The Worst: 1. Seasoned rice extremely salted, impossible to eat. 2. Falafel over cooked almost burned and dry. 3. $24 Family meal, grilled veggies slices (zucchini) too thick, gyro beef and chicken extremely salted and seasoned, impossible to eat more than a piece. 4. Extra fries ordered for kids mushy and soft (I presumed they don't understand what I ordered and sent seasoned fries instead) 5. Baba Ganoush tasted like smoked eggplants. 6. One of the food container was melted Pita bread and chicken tender was the only acceptable. $44 dolars paid on terrible food, better to go to McDonald's at least we know what we expect. So totally disappointed with the food and let say with the service as well. I hope you guy try to do a better job.
