Parking: Plenty of parking around the facility. We had rented a large pickup and were able to find a spot each night easily. Parking in the back, you walk through the pool gate, then use your room key for the door and you come in right by the elevators. It was very convenient.
Lobby: As soon as you walk in, you can see the desk to the left, the elevators are straight ahead and the breakfast area is to your right. The lobby is a bit on the small side and there is not a lot of seating if you have to wait on a shuttle, but since the breakfast area is so close, most people will probably sit there. Plus the 24 hour coffee is in there as well.
Elevators: Pretty easy to see, the doors don't face you as you walk to them, but the wall is labeled. I would say these are middle sized spaces. Large enough for 4 adults with luggage or one housekeeper with a laundry cart and you with a backpack.
Rooms: It looked like newer carpet or at least well maintained. King bed was very comfortable. Curtains closed completely and very little light bleed through. There was a mini fridge in the dresser and fixings for a coffee, but I don't recall actually seeing the coffee pot. The dresser is pretty small. It had 4 wire basket drawers, so a couple staying for more than a couple days wouldn't be able to unpack into it. I didn't use the TV, but it was on the dresser and just to the side of the bed, so I guess if you didn't mind being at an angle to the screen, it was okay. My room was at the end of the hallway and was very quiet.
Bathroom: Sink, toilet, shower in one space with a barndoor that is shared with the closet. Water pressure was good, shower got up to temperature quickly and plenty of of soap and shampoo in the wall mounted pumps. Plenty of towels and wash cloths. Towels were soft, but a little small. I didn't note any burnt smell to them like some places do.
Staff: I didn't interact with the staff much except at check-in. The were cordial, not over friendly. I was not recognized as a Hilton member, which I am used to get a "thanks for being a member" or "we have your member number here" and no complimentary water.
Breakfast: This is why I dropped it one star. It was meh. Opens a bit late, 7am, for most business travelers. The first morning it was eggs that were like fried, but sort of poached patties, with biscuits and gravy, and no proteins. The oatmeal was watery and toppings were few. The bread/pastry drawers were small with few choices. They ran out of coffee and didn't get it refilled for quite awhile. I noted that several people gave up waiting and left. The second morning, there was scrambled eggs that my coworker tried and said had no flavor and felt like they came from powdered eggs. I just had a boiled egg, a scone and a sausage patty. For the sausage patty, the texture was off. I'm pretty sure it was pork, but it felt like turkey. Coffee was better the second morning, although they ran out again, it was replaced in a couple minutes. I've actually been at 2-star hotels that had a better breakfast selection. I did see that they had to-go bags by the front desk, but I didn't need one, so I don't know what...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed in this hotel. We booked it because Expedia showed it to have a higher than 9 “wonderful” rating. In reality, the hotel is not remotely close to a 9. It’s a 5 or 6 at best. First, we arrived, and no one was at the front desk – despite them knowing their shuttle had gone to pick us up at the airport. A woman walked behind the desk, and I said, “hello.” She didn’t respond and went into the back room. A few minutes later she came back with another woman who said, “sorry, I had to finish a phone call.” Yet – the woman who ignored me first is the one who checked us in. Very strange. The worst part though – when we walked into the room it smelled terrible – like mildew – and was SO damp. The floors/baseboards were filthy. There was a spider & web in the corner of the bathroom. Pillows were like bunches of cotton in a pillowcase. Instead of a dresser they have just 3 small wire baskets under the TV. So, for two people staying a week, there’s nowhere to really put your clothes. The blow dryer didn’t work. The showerhead was awful. My bath towel had a big hole in it! There was no conditioner – only shampoo. The breakfast was gross. Very dry eggs and sausage gravy that looked like vomit. The pool water was literally brown – this is the only thing I forgot to get a photo of and regret it because seriously, I don’t know who would swim in that water. So gross. They only clean the room every other day of your stay – but we still had to ask for them to clean (they didn’t do it automatically) and when they did – they did not make our bed. When we asked them to make it – they were annoyed. I didn’t complain about any of this because I felt it was Expedia’s fault we were there – not the hotel’s (Expedia gave us a partial refund). Also, I was there to care for my mom who just had a terminal diagnosis, and I was too upset and had NO time to deal with any of this during my stay. Finally, the morning we checked out, I called the front desk because when they “cleaned” the room they didn’t replace the coffee. The woman at the desk said, “Okay, I’ll have housekeeping bring coffee up when they arrive. That should be in an HOUR OR TWO.” I lost it on her – she sent someone up with coffee. I guess she isn’t a coffee drinker. When we went to check out – no one was at the desk. We just left the keys on the counter. I do not recommend a stay here. The price is way too high for the quality of the location. There are other hotels nearby much more reasonably priced that are...
Read moreSadly had to edit this...worst experience I've ever had with a hotel
Love this hotel. The staff is great and it is always clean and as comfortable as you be away from home. This is always where I stay when in this area and will keep coming backSadly, I have to edit this...I left the hotel and returned form my trip to find out that scheduled medication had been stolen from my bag while I was out of my room. I called to let the hotel know and was told that had never happened there before and they apologized. Ok you can’t control humans lesson learned unfortunately I will have to carry all my medications with me to meetings and dinner in the future when I travel. My company shipped things to the hotel for my meetings. I got a call VERY early in the morning telling me the boxes were still there and in the way. I had scheduled a FedEx pickup when the day before I left so they should have been picked up several days prior to that so when I got to my office I called FedEx and they pulled up the pickup case ID and it showed that the driver tried to pick up the boxes the day after I left and was told there was nothing there to pick up (I personally put the boxes in the office I know that they were there and easy to find) so I had to start a new pickup with FedEx I called to let the person the hotel know that due to the holiday they would be picked up today 5/28 I barely got to work today and the hotel was calling my company to complain about the boxes and see when they would be picked up…Clearly there needs to be better communication and must be a new staff because I have NEVER had these kinds of issues EVER when traveling anywhere or staying at this hotel which I visit a few time a year for work. Looks like maybe I need to find a different place to stay when I go to Cleveland on all my...
