
What @Евгений , the "Local Guide" doesn't mention in his 1 star review, is he was incredibly rude the whole entire time he and his 2 friends came into the store. I was in there with my 2 kids looking for Dirt Bike pants. The employees were super helpful with me, but I told them I would like to browse on my own and only come to them if I had any questions (Which they respected!) However... I cannot say the same about Евгений. They were sooooo impatient and entitled and couldn't stand the fact the employees of the store were helping other people. It had to be "ME ME ME" the whole entire time. When the guy "asked for help" the first time, he started waving his hands in the air and started yelling and throwing a fit. The employee immediately went over to him, and even then Евгений was still being very rude, wouldn't let the employee speak, and was quick to dismiss him once he got what he needed. He then goes into the fitting room (which the employee helped him find) and one of his buddies goes up to the front counter to ask a question (which the employee very clearly was there, attentive, and wasn't ignoring them at all. At this time, the other employee was helping a customer (the "girlfriend") on the computer looking at helmets, and the other was on the store phone running around the store trying to find parts for them. Once the young lady inside the store was helped, she left and the employee helping her got a call from the store and it was another guest who needed help. This is where Евгений shouts across the whole entire store, swearing and saying slurs, starts getting very aggressive and taking a stance and causing a major scene because nobody was giving him the attention he so urgently deserved. Both employees were busy, its a Saturday and was a very nice day outside, I could only assume they were busy the whole day and they are doing their best. The employees then told them to leave the store after this aggressive, wild out behavior, Евгений and his friends refused, so the employees rightfully called the police. After hearing that, Евгений decided to walk out the store, then he tried to come back in! Luckily the employee locked the door so they couldn't because who knows what they would have done. The police show up after about 2-3 minutes, and Евгений feeds them lies (Hey... just like his review!) while the employees tell them what really happened. All in all, they finally left and I felt a lot safer with them gone. Hopefully Евгений and his friends are banned from this store for good. The staff here handled it very well and very professional! A few weeks ago, I stopped in to ask a basic question: “How much to mount MY tires if I bring everything myself—tires, tubes, rim strips?” The guy I spoke to was solid, and he quoted me $40 each and said it would take a couple days. Awesome, that’s fair. I should’ve remembered to get the guy’s name.
Fast forward to yesterday. Different guy this time, and immediately the price jumped to $120 EACH. Not only that, but now I’m being told it’ll take TWO WEEKS per tire. Why? “Company policy,” he says, with a smug grin, “We prioritize customers who buy tires from us.”
While I’m still trying to process this, he kept jamming a “customer information form” in my face like I’m signing up for a sketchy used car loan. Dude was pushing it like it was the Holy Grail of paperwork.
While he wandered off to answer someone else’s question, I stood there trying to do the mental math. I don’t have a lift, so it’s one tire at a time. At two weeks per tire, I’m looking at a full month with my bike blocking my garage. For mounting two tires? Seriously—how many tires are these people selling? Do they have one tech one day week?
He came back and shoved the form at me again. That was it. I told him, “I can’t have my garage tied up for a month. Thanks.” Then grabbed my gear and headed for the door.
On the way out he hits me with a “Have a nice day, sir,” drenched in the kind of fake politeness that basically screams “ **off and don’t come back.” Message received, loud and clear: I will never set foot in a Cycle Gear store again. I won’t recommend them. And if anyone even mentions Cycle Gear around me, they’re going to hear this whole story.
Save yourself the headache. Go anywhere else.
BTW… Cycle Gear, don’t respond with your canned bad review answer… “we sincerely apologize for…” and “Please reach out to us at…” NO! The ONLY acceptable response to this review is… "We’ve identified the individual responsible, and they’ve been fired. Attached is a voucher for the work you requested, along with our guarantee that it will be completed...
Read moreUPDATED: 2023 I don't even know the salesman's name because I walked out on them and went to another store to buy what I needed. First, I needed an open-face helmet for local riding. I did my research online and found the Bell Pitboss as my preferred choice. I didn't know my head size so I figured I'd get measured while I bought the helmet. Not only did I get a B.S. answer about "not measuring people in years" and a lame excuse about not having a $2 tape measure (it's like a shoe store that doesn't have a foot measuring device), but it was his truly obnoxious attitude and "Slimy Used Car Salesman" words, emotions, and energy that tipped the scales (did they hire this guy from Ganley?). I will never return. I went to another motorcycle store, and not only did I get my helm, but also my measurements and everyone was friendly and helpful. Cycle Gear needs to change their bad attitudes and provide real service if they want to be a successful business in this modern age.
P.S. I left my old review because it's important to understand that businesses can change...and in this case, they are Black-Balled on my BlackList!!!
