Red Robin is a Burger chain famous for their "bottomless" fries. Everything is okay about the restaurant. The service was outstanding even. It was a busy Saturday evening when my family of four went for dinner, but they sat us within a minute. We ordered an onion ring tower appetizer and each of us ordered a burger, fries and drink. The food was good, but not excellent. The total bill with a 20% gratuity for good service was around $110.00 The onion ring tower was big enough for the four of us at my table, and at $10 or so felt worth it. We don't normally do appetizers basically to keep the bills more reasonable. However when we walked in on this warm winter day after having not eaten all day, the perimeter of the building smelled of onion rings. A customer leaving the restaurant commented on that and nothing was stopping us from getting the onion rings after that. To be fair, the burgers and portion of fries you receive to start have gotten smaller. That's happened at a lot of places due to inflation and whatever, so I'm not trying to sound scientific when i say that the ratio of food portion shrinkage to cost rising doesn't seem on par here. Not that my family prefers quantity over quality or that they didn't bring more fries immediately after asking, because they did bring our fry refills faster than any other restaurant with a similar free refill offer that I've ever been to. Our server was awesome and she had a little help from other servers as the place this was weekend dinner rush. All of them were great. So while the service was bordering on excellent and the food was good. Red Robin still felt like a bad value. I don't mind occasionally spending $100 or even more on dinner either. So my recommendation is this: decent place, fun if you have kids or teens.. But if it was just me and the wife i'd most likely go somewhere else. I like french fries as much as the next guy, but have never considered them the star of the show. I go to a restaurant for a great burger, a nice steak or even an awesome buffalo chicken salad. I've never wanted to go full up on the side dish. Let's go here and fill up on biscuits, chips or fries - said no one ever. The royale burger I had ordered for over a decade wasn't really amazing anymore and the portion, while plenty really, just isn't what I would expect for the high price of the burgers. $15 it's okay, but I'm expecting a good burger for that and one that doesn't at all leave me wanting for more of the french fries. For over $15, i want to be dreaming of more of the burger even though I'm already stuffed. The other burgers at the table were the same. Decent but not generously portioned. No one was super impressed or openly stated that we need to come back here more often. And I was paying, so I don't think they even considered value. Again, everything was fine.. and while I'm not saying don't go here, I'm just left with an impression that it wasn't a great value and my money would be better spent...
Read more1/27 edit: wanted to say Red Robin corporate was excellent I rectifying this. They offered me a gift card for half what we paid and we did use online ordering again and had 0 issues!
3 out of the 6 items we ordered were completely wrong. We placed our order online for pick up and at the time, on the site, your peppermint Oreo shake was showing available. I ordered it for my daughter because all the other shakes were showing unavailable. So I ordered and paid for a milkshake that when I got there, was told oh sorry our milkshake machine is down. I asked why is is available on your website then and it let me order AND pay for it. The staff nicely apologized but what bothered me no one offered to A) credit me the payments since I didn't receive what I paid for or B) offer a substitute. I had to ask. Next, I ordered 2 kids burgers, both customized, and neither were correct. One burger was to have no toppings at all and it came with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles. The other burger was supposed to have lettuce, tomatoes and extra pickels and there was only lettuce on it. Finally, I ordered the Monster Burger, no cheese, no mayo as I am allergic to mayo, with only ketchup, mustard and pickles. The burger came with a ton of mayo, NO ketchup or mustard, no pickles, but had only had onions and a tomato, not even lettuce. We have dined A LOT at this Red Robin and never have had any issues so we were very excited for this meal as it was part of our Christmas celebration. I paid almost $85, including tip, for things that we didn't even get and for half the order to be completely wrong. The burger I ordered also was supposed to have some pink and it was completely overcooked and honestly it was awful. I ate the two small bites of the burger that I could and had to throw it out. The other thing, i ordered a separate soft drink and I received a kids sized drink. You're telling me it's $3.50 for a small kids cup and no one bothered to read it wasn't a kids drink? I work in a retail business myself and I understand that things get busy and hectic this time of year BUT, thats still not an excuse for terribly messing up an order we placed, without any apologies or anyone trying to correct it. Overall, the entire experience was just a sad disappointment and I wasted $85 on a dinner that mostly ended up in the garbage. Do what you will with this review as it seems in this day an age, companies don't truly care about honest feedback from people and do nothing to rectify their mistakes. The only good thing is your staff at the North Olmsted were friendly and courteous, which I...
Read moreService staff is great. Very easy to talk to. Those who took time out of their busy sections to say hello were MaryAnn , Genna, And Violet. All three were very friendly and open to listening to anything I had to say. I was sitting at the bar on the East side, all three again were very friendly and attentive to me. In comes Henry, GENERAL MANAGER. Again, I’m alone at the bar, asks me how I am very polite to start; talked about some college games for the college playoff. But, as time progressed I started to see who he was. There is a time and a place to pull an employee aside and ask about previous mistakes or perhaps just mention a different way to go about a preparation for a table or what not to help keep a steady pace. He pulls MaryAnn aside right in front of me (right side of the East bar) and proceeds to “knit-pick” her shift the night before about salt and pepper condiments; I did ask her when she got off the night before only because I have worked in the industry. There are closers and those who help prep for closing. She wasn’t the closer, the responsibility of removing or keeping the shakers on the table are not her responsibility. Continued to assume his stature and tell her word for word “no more mistakes or excuses.” Or else (basically)—the tone in his voice set the standard. She was nothing but polite and friendly right off the get go. I am giving a 5 out of 5 because I have always had a great experience with my family and friend and good has always been great. But I am giving Henry a 0 out of 5. The reason is because a managers job is to help correct or create a positive environment for their employees in the most hectic situations (serving is very stressful); not knit-pick and bash their employees right in front of a customer. Especially when that specific employee created a very friendly and open environment for me to just talk and relax. I don’t ever write reviews; my first one actually, but to witness this “gentleman” to take advantage of his position and knit-pick MaryAnn for basically nothing is absurd. This isn’t an “im offended” post either, this is a: I witnessed absolute abuse of power and it didn’t sit right with me. Great food and service staff again, just thought that incident was...
