Athens II Motel — Hotel in North Wildwood

My wife and I had not stayed at Athens II before 2017 because she and her family grew up going to what used to be called Beach Hugger Motel and closed down to become private condos. ||||That was a God sent message to us advising that we try Athens II Motor Inn, located very nearby. The rooms are more spacious, have been remodeled and are kept pristine by a very friendly, efficient and accommodating staff. Also, the availability of an elevator to assist in lugging our stuff to our 3rd level room is a huge plus. Then, too, I should mention there is a very well kept propane gas grill and cookware and picnic table available on a first-come basis and we DID use it. The unit has a wonderful view not only of the beach, but is close enough to the sound stage where "Night Under the Stars" performances are held that we could see performers.||||The only complaint (kidding, of course) is that Kathy and the office staff cannot book ahead for good weather, not even with extra charge. During our recently completed 4-day stay in mid-June, clouds, threatening at times, covered the sky. Rain did occur at night.||||I do feel safe in saying, as Gen. i just moved to north cape may area and needed a place to stay on short notice while my bathroom was being renovated and kathy came thru for me even after i called back after making the reservation an needed to add another day .the room was imaculate kathy put me and my wife in the breese way room which has a lower rate than ocean view . i loved it here as you can imagine i was not looking forward to move out of my house for needed repairs.the location is perfect you can walk out of your room to the beach without your shoes . the sea wall is across the street which i enjoyed walking everyday. there's a hot dog cart across the street where i got a chilie dog a very poular spot where there's always a line.also it is walking distance to joe joe's place which have good pizza and live band .keenans irish pub is 1 block from joe joe,s place.all and all if i didn't live down here this would be my vacation place.hope this helps and kathy the owner is awesome very hard working women who keeps this place running...

This place was wonderful! Nice, clean, and right on the beach in the middle of a fun town! My siblings and I rented a room here for our mother twice this past summer; both times having great experiences.

The staff's hospitality was excellent! Maid service was prompt and polite, but more importantly, the staff went above and beyond the expected accommodations. I would like to especially point out the front desk clerk Kathy, in this regard; who loaned our elderly mother her own personal DVD player while we stayed at Athens II, because we accidentally left my Mom's at home.

Thank you so much Kathy! Our Mom had a great time in Wildwood overall, but when it rained, or when she didn't feel up to leaving the motel (which was often), she was able to watch her favorite movies to relax, and put a smile on her face.
