Location was great. About a block to the back/boardwalk and no streets to cross. Outside of the building was well kept. When we checked-in, owner was personable. Overall, room itself looked to be updated. Small kitchen was a good size (we didn’t cook during our short stay, just made coffee, sandwiches and heated things up in the microwave) and having a full-size fridge was nice. Bathroom was larger than expected. Liked the first floor room.
Things that could be fixed: Hair & Stains - there was hair everywhere. On the sofa, on the carpet, in the shower when we arrived, in the pool (like giant chunks of hair floating in the deep end). The chair in the room and the sofa bed were stained, and had hair on the surface of and in between the cushions. We ended up throwing sheets over it so we could sit on it. My husband picked up a hairball on his foot from the carpet while unpacking.
No Central AC/Mutiple AC Units - there was one bedroom with two beds and one AC unit in the bedroom. That one AC had to cool down both rooms (front sitting room and bedroom). If you wanted the front room cool, you had to keep the AC Temp pretty low and the BR door open which then freezes out the people sleeping in the bedroom. The ceiling fan in the front sitting area where the sofa bed only had one setting so we couldn’t adjust to get more air. It could get pretty stuffy in the front.
Sofa Bed - My husband and I slept on the sofa bed in the front room. The mattress was so thin, you could feel the bars on your back. We had to take the blanket we brought and fold it a few times to lay across the top bar so it didn’t dig into our backs. It was 3 nights of horrible sleep. We woke up multiple times each night and in pain every morning. On the way down, we talked about staying an extra day if the weather would be good and the room was available, but after a few nights on that sofa bed, decided we couldn’t take another night of it.
Cleaning - The microwave was on the top of the fridge. I went to heat some food in there the first morning after we arrived and found a styrofoam container with old chicken nuggets, ketchup and a metal fork inside. It was covered with small gnat like bugs. Thankfully, the microwave door had been closed and the bugs were contained. I then disinfected the microwave with Lysol wipes I had brought with me. I let the front desk know and they apologized, but no further action was taken.
Check out- checked out at 10am and went to drop the keys off. The owner just said thanks and kept talking to another woman in the office. We weren’t asked how our stay was or anything, which was odd given that things were much more friendly...
Read moreI stayed here with my boyfriends family. It was my first time staying in Wildwood, and this hotel room did not help me enjoy our stay my first stay there. The first thing we noticed was the pull out couch I was staying on. We pulled it out and it was pretty much just a mattress with springs and no padding on it. It also had one sheet that looked like it was just thrown on it before the couch got put back together. The sheet and mattress had what looked like old food crumbs all over it, which was gross. Secondly, the rooms have huge windows with vertical blinds in them, and ours was missing a few blinds, leaving not much privacy. Lastly, there were a few other things but those aren't important. The other people staying in the rooms were extremely noisy and had no concern for other people staying near them. Overall, it was a nice place, with a nice looking pool and a close distance to the beach/boardwalk. It just has a few things that look like they could do to make the rooms a little more comfortable...
Read moreIt’s not the worst place, but it’s not great either. The sheets on one of the beds had (what looked to be) dried up crusty boogers on the corner and edge of the bed. I was so grossed out by this and made me feel like they don’t care to make sure their sheets are clean. I did ask for them to change the sheets and they did it right away which was good, but it’s just the fact they were dirty in the first place that threw me off. There were also dirt marks on the mattress covers and hair in the pillow cases. The water in the bathroom came out brown, but not the water in the kitchen area sink. Not sure why it was brown but this also grossed me out so much that I didn’t feel comfortable showering there and had to leave 1 day into my 3 day trip. The wash cloths looked old and the toilet paper was horrible. The whole place just skeeved me out honestly. Didn't feel comfortable there at all. The only good thing was that it’s close to the boardwalk and the maids were quick to...
