My husband, our 8 year old daughter, and myself just stayed here for 4 days last week. We had a great time. The owner, Tom, was very nice and down to earth and all of the other staff members we encountered were very nice as well. The property itself (pool/balconies/parking area/main office/ground level) were very clean and well maintained. We left money and valuables out in the open, in our room, and they weren't touched or stolen. Our room was clean(and believe me, I inspected it! Lol), the bathroom was clean, the beds/sheets were clean, the kitchen area was clean, the furniture was clean.. Overall, a very positive experience. Also, it is extremely close to the boardwalk(not even a half block, more like a half of a half). Once you get to the boardwalk, the ocean is NOT a far walk, at all. If you go south of 20th street, the walk from the boards to the water can be long and exhausting- but not here! Very quite neighborhood... and many things, off the boards, are within walking distance(Vegas diner, Samuels pancake place, stores, and other restaurants..etc). We will be going back, soon!
Note: Every room is privately owned. Some rooms are nicer than others, some have flat screen tv's and some have box tv's. Some have had more decorating done than others, but overall the place is clean and well maintained. When you call, ask Tom what your room has or request what you'd like. To me it didn't make a difference, I was on the beach and the boards 95% of...
Read moreI had never been to Wildwood (or any Jersey beach except Atlantic City). I am an Ocean City MD girl (grew up there) but the prices are ridiculous. This motel had a great price and great reviews so I booked. It is a very old style motel (almost every hotel in WW is) and it was really kind of cute. There are chairs outside the room for you to hang outside. My room didn't have them which I was kinda bummed. But I was back in a corner room. The room was very clean for the most part and quite cute. Small but would be perfect for 2 people. It sleeps 4 but I would lose my mind if there were 4 people crammed in one room. The living room is separated by a door that leads to the bathroom and bedroom. The AC unit is in the room so it can get toasty in the living room. Very updated room and home-like. I slept pretty bad the 1st night as the bed was so so and the pillow was terrible. The 2nd night, I slept on the sofa and slept really well. The hotel is very close to the boardwalk which was really cool. The office staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The wifi is pretty rough so you may need to use data here and there like I did. There was music playing and lots of people joined together downstairs on the picnic tables. It was a neat community vibe. I am glad I was on the other side though because I am really sensitive to sound. All in all, I was happy...
Read moreWe just stayed at the malibu for our first time. Tom was extremely nice and accommodating. The location is quite convenient with close proximity to the beach and boards.
We booked a room that slept 5. It does not. The room was extremely small, the pull-out couch was a bed of springs, definitely outdated and not an updated accommodation. The two full beds were very uncomfortable. The bedding looked like it had not been washed in weeks.
The room was filthy when we got there.
What was the most disappointing was the constant smell of marijuana. We watched owners of units smoke out of a bowl, within feet of the pool where there were young children. Our room constantly smelled like pot, while there was a No Smoking sign on the door.
As a NJ resident myself, with family that does partake in what our state has legalized, there is a time and place - smoking a bowl or a rolled joint in the common area was disrespectful.
I understand all units are privately owned and some may be better than others. Our unit had zero storage. 3 out of the 5 of us lived out of our suitcases. We couldn't use the kitchen table, as that was used to house the suitcases. The room may sleep 5 but definitely did not accomodate five. Didn't really accomodate 4.
Not our cup of tea, we will...
