ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE customer service! Stayed two nights (Fri & Sat Dec 8th & 9th 2017). I decided to extend my stay one extra night so late Saturday night, Dec 8th, I went down to the front desk, expressed my desire to extend my stay and received two new key cards since my old key cards were for the previous nights. At 11:05am on Sunday morning an employee called the room and said housekeeping needs to clean the room and we had to vacate or we would be charged an extra day. While she made that request I could tell immediately that she was already in a pissy mood for some unknown reason. I explained to her on the phone that I extended my stay the previous night and received two new key cards. She then said the "I must have been mistaken"! and I needed to either pay for another day or leave the hotel. I asked her why the earlier front desk employee had given me two new keys for another day if the room had not been extended. She couldn't answer that one. She then became extremely irate and said I needed to come down to the front desk, leave a card on file and well as a drivers license or I had to leave. So I go down to the front desk and asked her why she needs my drivers license (The reason she said it was necessary for me to come down) when they made a photo copy of it when I originally checked in and my card was already on file. She said that they throw them away after a guest checks out so she didn't have them. The problem is... I hadn't checked out yet! I was still within the limit of my first two nights! It just went on and on and on. She was totally unprofessional and as I stood there listening to her throw excuses as to why she couldn't simply extend my stay.. it was obvious that she just wanted to be right no matter what. I asked her why this hotel is the only hotel I've ever stayed in in 30 years that I couldn't just extend my stay by calling the front desk. She couldn't answer that one either. Long story short she then told me that she was not going to extend my stay and that I had to vacate the room! The absolute WORST experience I've ever had with regards to a hotel stay. I'm sure hotel management would loved the fact that an employee made staying an extra night so difficult then in the end just ran a guest off by not allowing the extended stay. Lastly, as I was leaving with my baggage I passed the front desk and could hear her giving a hard time to two guest that were trying to check in. On a different note... Did I mention the railroad tracks RIGHT OUTSIDE the back door! Trains ran continuously through the night and since there is an intersection just a few yards away the conductor blew the trains horn EVERY TIME it passed by through the night. Just a bad experience from...
Read moreI want to write this review to bring awareness and whats happening inside these rooms,
First there were multiple issues, Room had torn bedsheets under the comforter and it was same across any room. These looked clear that these tears are due to prolonged usage and multiple usage in the washers. Trash or the dust bins are very dirty and hasn't been washed or cleaned properly. They have white gray stains inside those bins. Not enough lighting. Lamp was missing behind the Chair which was there in a different room. also didnt have a chair for that table. As soon as we entered the room first thing we noticed was that it had hair on top of the bed. This happened on both the rooms. After sitting on the bed setting the luggage aside after entering the room, I felt discomfort and found something was underneath the bed cover, after checking I found a white hand towel still tucked in there or left there. very surprised how could room service leave a hand towel or wash cloth under the bed cover and what could be the purpose. Bath Towels were very old and wasnt changed or renewed in long time. Same with bed comforters and pillow cases. They are very old. I complained that the water had low pressure like dripping in bath tub, but the answer I got from fron desk was that due to being in second floor it will not have that much pressure and if they even move to 3 rd floor, it would still have lower water pressure in bath tubs. I was surprised then how do all these rooms and manage with just dripping kinda water pressure. They told that ground level will have better water pressure. Staying with kids and seeing this water pressure was really disappointing.
The biggest problem, was that I complained to the front desk that both queen beds' comforters were torn and could see hair on the bed, his reply was that if I dont like I can vacate the room, they are completely booked and he doesnt have anything available for me to move until the second day as weekends are fully occupied; I was told this before midnight after I checked in.
The next day they provided another room and I was shocked to see that the room door latch doesnt work even if you lock from inside, anyone from outside by pushing the door could open easily even without the key card. I did even show this to the front desk lady on the second day of stay explaining and she offered me another room.
Then again i had to switch to a 3rd room.
I could understand that due to floods and other challenges the cleanliness, condition of the room due to wear and tear are compromised but comforter, sheets, hair, wash cloth in bed, dirty bins are unacceptable; Had worst experience with the family and kids. would never stay...

Apparently the water issue is just a known problem in the area. However, I have stayed at a few hotels in Ft. Lauderdale and there are a few that must have a decent water softening system since they have some clear water. For a business that makes significant gains there should be some decent re-investment, or at least signage that warns customers of common problems so that there aren't surprises.
Overall it was a good location but the hotel has a really old feel to it, had cigarette burns in the carpet and some of the sheets. Edges of the carpet near the wall were peeling up, feels pretty beat-up in some aspects. Also, best western internet is hilarious since it provides almost 80 Mbps but also blocks like 95% of all websites, lol.
It's a good stay for one or two nights but anything longer than that is not suggested. I expect to generally feel comfortable taking a bath or showering at a hotel, instead I had to avoid this. Overall, good front-desk people but the hotel definitely needs some updates.

THE. WATER. IS. YELLOW
It's disgusting, please spend literally the same amount of money or even $10 more and go anywhere else in the area, you will thank me later. There are plenty of hotels around.
I have slept here for two nights already and taken showers since I arrived. Tonight I thought I would take a bath and when I returned to the bathtub I saw that the entire tub was full of yellow water, so I emptied it out and and filled it up again. Same thing. I started to record video with flash and noticed that there were also dozens of dead small flies in the water. This is extremely unhealthy - I have been using the sink water to wash my mouth out when I brush my teeth. Had to buy a gallon of water from Publix to avoid using the water here. I thought this was a BEST WESTERN not a MOTEL 6. I'd love to see an actual health inspector check this place out. Overall, the people who work at the front desk are nice, the 1 star isn't for them..... it's for whoever owns the hotel and focuses on saving money instead of investing in basic maintenance.
If someone was to get sick from the water at this hotel there could be a decent lawsuit. If you're looking at reviews of this place and considering to stay here - please don't. Take 3 seconds to look at the other nearby hotels and common sense should tell you to avoid this place. Definitely my last time at a Best...
