Garrett County Fairground — Local services in Oakland

We took our 5 kids and overall had a great time. My husband, myself, and our toddler twins were non-riders (we got the discount tickets beforehand at Southern States), but our older 3 (over 36 inches) had a blast on all the rides. The fries at the French Fries booth were really good ($5 for a 'small' 16oz bucket, $7 for a large). I had a chili cheese all-beef hotdog for $3 at the Knights of Columbus booth. MIL had a plain ketchup hotdog for $1. I think this booth was most reasonably priced for food, but I was disappointed to pay $2 for soda and it only be a 12oz can.

Anyhow, we had a great time. We stayed from about 1:30 to 5pm and the lines for the rides never got too long for the restrooms (which were reasonably spaced out in at least 3 different places that we were aware of). We visited the cows, goats, rabbits and sheep. Adorable- especially the baby animals and the goats and sheep were very friendly. We stopped for a smoothie, candy apples, and cotton candy for the kids on the way out from the concession carts. Some adults and kids had masks, most didnt. Definitely recommend...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Deep Creek, MD. It is truly one of my favorite places. Although I am a Pittsburgher, born and raised, I feel like this place is home. All of that said, thei fairgrounds are no exception. We have visited almost yearly for the fair and demolition derby. Although this is an extremely busy time for the grounds......everything is well maintained. There is little to no trash on the ground. The garbage cans were not overflowing. Even the portable toilets were in the best shape they could be in(nothing is like home, but they weren't scary to enter). Overall, another great Deep Creek...

We are from South Jersey and have family that have a house on WISP Mountain. The first time we visited we fell in love with the area and the local folks who live there. Everyone is so nice and friendly. We have had the privilege to visit the Garrett County Fairgrounds twice, once during thesummer for their summer market and just recently for the Christmas tree festival. Both events were fantastic. It's so nice to see all the local families come together and have such great events. We highly recommend visiting this area and connecting with the local community. We can't...
