Room 420 Bedbug nightmare. We had a mini girls trip planned in June 2018. I have stayed at this hotel about 6 years ago and my parents stayed here a few times over the past several years. My mom booked us a 3 night stay. It's a older hotel but reasonably priced. Upon arriving we were told our room was ready, we were given the keys to find the room hadn't been cleaned, trash everywhere, bed linens on the floor etc. The cleaning people were kind to clean it right away for us. The room was older, but didn't look too bad and is in a prime location to get to things quickly within walking distance. We always inspect the room and beds because we are neat freaks and paranoid of bedbugs. Everything on the bed looked ok. The beds had new mattress covers on the mattresses and boxsprings, to our surprise the mattress looked new so we felt ok about sleeping here. We did a quick inspection of my bed and it also had the covers so I assumed I had new stuff as well. My mom shared a bed with my 9 year old daughter and I crawled into bed with my 7 year old daughter who was already asleep and I saw something crawl from her head... I first thought maybe it's because I was so tired but then saw something crawl from her head over the pillow. I immediately jumped up and grabbed a tissue, flipped her pillow and it was a bedbug. I killed it right there and pulled all the covers down and woke my mom and daughters up. Thos sounds crazy but I evem google imaged it to make sure before I called down to the front desk 3 times with no answer. I went dowm to the front desk and waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to help. The employee was very kind and immediately called his manager. I didn't want to stay here after this but they offered to let us have another room. It was the only room available 320, right below 420 with bedbugs. 😕. We were debating on what we should do because at this point it was 2:30 in the morning, we were extremely tired. I hadn't slept. We peaked at room 320 amd it also hadn't been cleaned , there was even food containers sitting out, it was awful. I went out tp my car! Even with me putting the bedbug, on a bag and bringing it to the fromt desk the hotel would not give a refund until 8 am when the manager arrrived. It was an awful experience. Before we left 420 I decided to loft the box sprong up to find bed big debri all along the seam. Of the mattress cover. We ended up stayimg at Paradise Plaza and the manager at the Majestic did give my mom her complete refund. I know ot can happen anywhere but I will never stay at this place again. I had went online and checked reviews amd see a similar experiemce in room 402 from last year. We were in 420.😣...
Read moreOh my God!!! Not sure if I laugh or cry!!!! I'm a frequent traveler. My wife and I really love to experience a new things. When we booked Majestyc, we knew what to expect. A simple hotel, white a nice view. We arrived early and asked for a early check in. Unfortunately, that's not available. Understandable! We headed to our room. No elevator. It's a 100 yo building. Understandable! Our room was (old) clean and not smelling. Good sign. When preparing a dinner for a 8 guest (it was our party) we noticed that there's only 6 sets. I went to the front desk (no phone in the room) to ask for more plates and silverware. I was advised that, the hotel doesn't provide it. I went to a restaurant close to the hotel and asked if they could provide me a few disposable dishes and forks. After 30 min, a nice gentleman came with small plastic dishes to provide us ( that's nice of them). The following 4 days went smooth (since we didn't ask anything from the hotel). At that point, I would've given a 4 star review ( we knew what to expect). A day before to check out, I went to the front desk and asked for a late check out . They told me that, due the high demand, that's impossible ( 4th July). Understandable! But, they told me that we're allowed to enjoy the premises all day long. We checked out at 11:03 am (sorry for the 3 min late). Nice people on the front desk. My party went to the swimming pool to enjoy the rest of the day. It's small but, cozy. Besides the only 2 trash cans are extremely full, it's nice. At 4:03 pm, we're getting ready to leave the premises (literally, loading the 2 cars). A lady came ( whit someone that already made a scene at the swimming pool - not related to us). And told me, full of attitude, " you guys have to leave" (just a note: we're loading the cars already). I told her: we're leaving but, at the front desk, they told us that we have the rest of the day to stay. That's the turning point. She said: I'm the "manager", I'm telling you to leave. While we're arguing, the same man that made a scene at the swimming pool and cleaning aroun, put his hand on his man's parts and put his middle finger up. 5 minutes later, the police was on site. The officers were polite and did their job (of course we're treated as a trespassers) but, the majestic "manager" kept her loyalty to show that she's the boss without seeing that, on the other side were grandparents, kids and friends just trying to...
Read moreWe had the two bedroom apartment (602) located in the courtyard which was near the parking lot. There is a little alley between the buildings that will drop you directly on the boardwalk and a very short walk and direct access to the beach. There are stairs leading to this apartment. The only issue we had was in order to get to the second bedroom you had to pass through the first bedroom (ugh) which is fine if you are a couple with small children. We had four adults which made it awkward:( The trash pickup was EVERY MORNING at 5:30am and that is the draw back of staying in the court yard as the dumpsters are also located there. Very loud! I wished we had known that it was not on the boardwalk facing the ocean as that is what we really wanted. The website is not very detailed about how the apartments are located so perhaps calling and asking questions would be best. These apartments are old and not updated for the most part, so you will get what you pay for. The beds are the old spring type and not very comfortable. The only thing that was updated was the flat screen TV. Parking is tight so if you have a big vehicle you will need some assistance on backing out of your space and getting out. Overall we enjoyed our stay so unless you want to put out the big dollars for the high end hotels this isn't a bad place to stay. We will look next year to find something more updated directly on...
