David, the bartender was exceptional. He made everybody feel important, special and well taken care of. He put a smile. On many of the customers faces including my sister who was celebrating her 75th birthday. I wish I could remember the wonderful woman who greeted us at the front desk and checked us in. She just started our experience from the start with joy. She also was a great comfort and help when at happy hour one of the bartenders was terribly rude to my 75-year-old sister. And later on that night.was exceptionally rude to me. Even rolled his eyes at me when I told him his margaritas he made tasted to sweet to my sister. When earlier another bartender made good.tasting margaritas His solution was to rudely grab 2 cups.Put a shot in them add another dab of something in it about an inch high in the cups throw a lime in it and then proceeded in saying here now, it won't be too sweet.Than he with anger grab the two margaritas he made earlier. rolled his eyes at me as he tossed the unacceptable drinks away..Then I said, I'm not trying to be rude or give you a bad time.He said nothing rolled his eyes again and walked off. I understand he was busy and unhappy; however, to take it out on customers and a seventy five year old woman is appalling and scary. When I knew I couldn't go down a third time to get him to straighten out the drink situation for my sister. I called the front desk. And the same woman that checked us in answered and she was so kind and assured me that.she wrote a report and that we have nothing to worry about and are safe. She was a comfort because I was shocked and extremely unhappy and felt a sense of a threat from the bartender. I'm sure if the other bartender David would have been there at the time none of the problems would have happened.. Thanks to David and the wonderful woman at the front desk. We felt safe and it kept us from leaving right away and never coming back. All I know is that at my job if I was having a bad day and I took it out on customers.I would very quickly find myself unemployed. At my job there is a zero tolerance for rudeness to customers. I'm not one that complains, but the behavior of this staff was unlike anything I ever encounteand I am 61 years old. I think most people, including him deserve a second chance but I think he should be made aware of his threatening, and intimidating attitude And how badly his behavior could hurt the reputation of the Embassy hotel. I greatly appreciate and thank the rest of your wonderful staff. They did everything they could to make our stay feel safe and assured this would...
Read moreFronswai, Tina, and David were wonderful. When we checked in Fronswai was exceptional and welcoming. She took care of 2 very disturbing incidents that happened with the evening bartender (it wasn't David). When I came down for happy hour and went to the wrong area for my drink, he went out of his way to be rude and spiteful.telling me that I was in the wrong area with a grumpy and angry voice.Later! that even around 10pm my sister went down to bring back 2 margaritas for me as it was my 75th birthday. My sister told me that before he even started making my margaritas he was acting annoyed and extremely unwelcoming making it obvious that I was a burden. He was sloppy and through his demeanor acted as if I was an unwelcome guest as my sister had gotten me the drinks. The margaritas that a different bartender made were very good. The ones that he made were awful and much too sweet. I asked my sister to please ask the bartender to correct the drinks. Then he started rolling his eyes at her and banging things around and grabbed 2 cups angrily and put a small splash of 2 ingredients in 2 cups and put limes in the cups. It was less than a 1/2 inch of liquid in each cup. Than he said now they won't be too sweet. My sister said it will not do. He was even more expressively rude. He grabbed another bottle of something, put a trickle in leaving less than 1/2 an inch of fluid in the cup. This was all after my sister left a 50% tip for the drinks My sister than said to him that she was sorry for troubling him and she said I am honestly not trying to give you a hard time, I just want things right for my sister. In response he angrily glared at her, rolled his eyes at her making her feel unwelcome. It was a shock to her as David the other bartender was so warm and welcoming to all guests. Tina this morning was lovely and went out of her way to make sure that we were OK and deeply apologized for that bartender's behavior towards us. She said that kind of behavior isn't tolerated and it would be swiftly dealth with. Thanks to David, Tina, and Fronswai we will come back and give Embassy Suites another try. One bad apple can ruin the entire experience...
Read moreThe good things about this hotel? The staff were nice, the included breakfast was quite good, the shuttle worked out well, and they have a computer and printer you can use for free. But this hotel is desperately in need of renovation. Paint was chipping off of the walls, the carpet had stains, and the laminate on the desks was coming off. The HVAC system was not working properly, so I was freezing in my room no matter how high I tried to raise the temperature. I kid you not, I wore my coat the entire time I was in my room! My parents had the same issue in their room, and when they called downstairs to ask for help, the “engineer” who came up basically just said that it’s an old system and they can’t do anything to change it. Oh, and the sink in the bathroom is so low that your back will ache if you’re staying more than one night—an issue no newer hotel I’ve stayed at has ever had.
There were huge fans blowing on my floor because I guess there had been water leaks all throughout the hallway, so the fans were there to stop mold from growing. Unfortunately, mold was still a problem in several places in the hotel. There was some in my shower and on my shower curtain, as well as in the fitness room.
Some of my extended family members had paid to reserve a room so we could have a gathering, and we were assured there would be a tech person on call to help. Well, when their projection system did not work, we had to call 3 times to request the tech person come help us because he was busy working on one of their water leaks (the tech person was apparently also their handyman… which should give you an idea of how this place functioned). When the “tech person” finally showed up, he obviously had no idea what he was doing. He just tried to turn the projector off and on… which I’d already done. A family member ended up helping me figure out the issue--not the tech guy whose help was part of the package my family members had paid for when they reserved the room.
You could do worse, I suppose, if you like a frigid hotel room… but I would...
