What an absolutely terrible experience. This was my first time here, I placed an order for pick up at 12:30. I got there at 12:15. I was early so I expected to wait. So I waited….And waited and waited. The 12:30 orders start rolling onto the pick up shelf at about 12:45ish. I see my name on a bag, but there was also someone else’s name on the bag. Peek in, not mine. I alert the to-go associate, and I have to ask if mine is still being made. Meanwhile, 12:45 pick ups start rolling out onto the shelves. Still no order ready. There is no communication from staff, no apology for the long wait times, and no attempt at redemption. While waiting, I noticed the absolute lack of good hygiene. What I assume was the manager, had gloves so greasy and old, they were glassy and transparent. He punched some numbers in the time clock, on the cashiers computer, then pushed through the kitchen doors and went straight to cooking. How nasty! As a former restaurant manager, wash your hands folks, change your gloves at every chance, including leaving your station and touching high traffic items before preparing food again. This is how CROSS CONTAMINATION happens. Finally, at 1:00, a whole 30 minutes after my pick up time and 45 minutes of waiting in store, I got my order. Keep in mind y'all, this is COLD FOOD. I got no apology, really I got no acknowledgment whatsoever the entire wait. I understand long waits, especially at lunch. However, the team responsible for dine in guests cycled through a huge line 3 times before I got my order. I didn’t complain in store, but I will not be back to this location and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else go either, at least not during rush. Read moreI don’t understand how this one has this many good reviews. A week or so ago we ordered two bowls to go, my wife went to pick it up and they only made one bowl. Okay. Mistakes happen. We hadn’t had cava in awhile so we decided to order again the next night. We ordered two bowls, two drinks and an order of pita chips. I walk in at 7:50 after ordering 10 min prior… my order isn’t ready but they have a line so I sit down to wait. But I’m very obviously sitting there waiting. Line goes down and I can see 3 to go bags on the counter waiting for food… then there’s one girl behind the counter. One guy went to clean tables for an empty restaurant where no one was waiting to eat, a few people were in the back… one guy comes to get a door dash order and I walk up too. She goes oh you had two bowls after looking in my bag … so she starts to make the second one.. which means my first bowl had been sitting in a bag for almost 30 minutes which is how long I had been waiting. My toddler was in the car with my wife very upset because it was her dinner time as well and we didn’t expect it to take 45 minutes to order and get food. So I ask for a refund because 1. I don’t want food poisoning from food sitting around and 2. I’m unhappy with the service and no longer want the food. The girl calls her manager who says to email so the employee writes down an incomplete and WRONG email address. Also it was so gross in there. Read moreFirst time here. I've heard about Cava for a long time. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly in the service line. High marks for those items. If the ratings were higher, I would give them. I would give the lowest marks for: We were in the restaurant for over 3 hours. The customer stream was steady for most of the 3 hours and the crew was busy. Truly. However, I informed the crew of no toilet paper in the handicapped stall in the women's and that tables needed wiping (we couldn't find a clean table) and that the drink machine area was were and sticky. We waited 2o minutes or so for our dining companion to come and it still hadn't been tended to in the dining room. So, I bussed a table and wiped it down with napkins. Then I wiped down the fountain area. In the course of the evening a number of tables remained dirty until about 8:15. Finally someone came out to wipe tables! It looked great when they were done. At the end of the night I used the facilities again. I was surprised to find that one stall remained unstocked. Sometimes it's the little things that are big things. If you have a crew if 8-10 ppl, make sure those rotations happen. There were lulls in the night though it stayed busy. I want to return and give you the highest marks your restaurant can get.
