Most of the accommodations in OOB are dated and well past their prime. ||This is a condo hotel with privately owned condos, as well as limited number of hotel rooms. ||This place is nice by OOB standards. They renovated two years ago. I enjoy their beachside bar with live music seven days per week in summer. No heavy security and police there, like at The Pier patio. Not as rowdy of a crowd, either.||I’ve seen some photos of a few of the condos. They were nice, too, compared to other nearby lodging.||I really wanted to do a locals four night get away here in August but found it entirely too difficult to book a room! We looked around here a few weeks ago while here having cocktails.||There is no front desk, like at a normal hotel. Just a sales office, where there’s never any employees around. The only one’s you see are the bar staff coming and going to the kitchen from the patio bar. There’s nobody else ever around! ||When you go to their website and click on ‘book a room’ you’re only directed to call the sales office or leave an email inquiry on a page mentioning the “2016 season|is just around the corner” (3 years ago) You can’t even view a calendar with rates and availability. You also can’t see a photos of the rooms. Or the different types they have. (what kind of lodging doesn’t have online booking/availability/rates and photos of the rooms these days, in 2019? -Even the nearby roach motels have that- Its also strange there are so few TripAdvisor photos, even though this is a pretty large place that’s been here forever. ||I sent an email inquiring about a stay, and to maybe view photos of the rooms/condos, but all they could send me was a photo of a bed in one of the non-beachside hotel rooms. ||I’ve now driven here twice, 50 miles round trip, to try and talk to somebody in their sales office during business hours, but there’s nobody ever at the desk! When I’ve called the number left on the desk for help, it just went to voice mail. Waited around for 25 minutes and no staff ever came by. A house keeper told me the lady that named the sales desk was busy tending bar. ||I would have paid $350 per night to stay here for four four nights, but not without seeing pictures or viewing one of the rooms first. That would be foolish in OOB.||Also, I’d rather not waste time inquiring about booking if I knew there was no availability in the first place. That would be helpful to know for guests looking to book a room!||If you can figure out how to easily make a reservation here, or talk to somebody, it could be a nice...

Read moreI like that they have live music. The food is fine and they have a beer I found fine. We ran into the strangest seating situation. We did have a large party but simply wanted to be near each other and there were plenty of seats available. We had part of our group on a separate tab but because we wanted to talk to each other they forced them into a corner table because they can't make table decisions on the fly. Now we can't talk to our group.
Furthermore, the table we wanted had remained empty for the duration of our visit, essentially screwing one of the wait staff out of a tip.
I'm sure it's tough to deal with vacationers but when someone is trying to make things easier and more fair, maybe show a little flexibility.
Super disappointed in this experience.
Update: now they have seated a table between our two tables because we were congregating around the table they forced part of our party into. Updating my review to a 1. Probably not...
