Pacific Grove Ice Cream Shoppe — Restaurant in Pacific Grove

This place is overly crowded and ice cream and coffee play 2nd fidddle to the amassed 60’s & 70’s collection of records and Beatles memorabilia that is not for sale.

-The ice cream tubs are stuffed this way (Willy-nilly) in the over iced freezer.

-The place looks and feels dirty. I didn’t let my friends buy anything while we were there.

-my friend is vision impaired and the when she asked what flavors were available the owner said “they’re listed here”. Anyone who has been in the retail industry and knows proper customer service would point to the list while verbally listing what’s available.

-The times /hours listed on Google are not correct

-the times listed on the door are used as a guideline and are not hard and fast. We waited for 20 mins after when it was supposed to open by what was on the door and finally left. We came back after dinner.

Go for the psychedelic light show inside the store and the collection of Beatles items.

Don’t go for the owners service...

My wife and I decided to stop by on our way home from drinks with friends. We live just a mile up the road from this place so decided to check it out. The place seemed cool but the ice cream had freezer burn. My wife wanting to be polite decided to ignore it and buy an ice cream. She then complemented the old man on the store and said these exact words “ I have to ask. What is your favorite Beatles song?)

He responded with a big sigh and pulled out an old laminated flyer and said “ everything about the store is on there. If you want to know anything read it” then proceeded to ignore us.

I cannot imagine the special kind of A$$ you need to be to live and own a business in one of the most beautiful areas of California and have an attitude like that...

I seriously don't know where to begin. #1. The place was absolutely filthy, period, top to bottom. If you want to be a Beatles memorabilia store please do that instead. #2. The ice cream cooler was also filthy inside and out. Hand and finger prints very visible on the inside. If the visible areas are that bad I can only imagine how much mold and bacteria is in the filter system, condensation drains ect of said cooler. #3. Customer service is a joke and this is the owner im talking about not some 16 year old kid which i would expect the behavior from. Cussing at customers, preaching beliefs ext ect #4. Bro, all good if you smoke weed but time and place. Point being, if I was wearing my CalOSHA hat I would've had a field day. Silver lining,...
