We stayed at the Drury Inn in Paducah. Upon our arrive we were met by a very friendly Thomas who guided us on the amenities and the particulars such as their perks such as free breakfast happy hours etc. If we had an issue Thomas did everything in his power to help us out.
The attached pictures are the decor and inside facilities. The Tv is newer and the sheets and towels were very clean.
The next three days we were provided with a Continental breakfast, coffee, pantries, toast, eggs sausage, soft drinks and tea. It was very busy place each and every morning.
They offer daily newspapers each day and in the dining area TVs for news and sports junkies. The entrance and front desk has polished granite. The hotel is animal friendly for folk who are unable to leave their pets.
I would like to provide kudos to breakfast Hanna, Joan and another hostess who were kind, thoughtful. They truly cared about our experience. Overall Drury provided an awesome customer service experince.
Things they can improve: Carpets needs to be cleaned If you have a pet friend place it means guest like us are repelled by dander and the odor of carpets wet by urine. The rooms had a odor of animals and our family suffers greatly due to the unkempt textiles Deep cleaning It goes without saying that the tile and carpets in our rooms were very soiled!!!! The pictures and walls had a sticky substance akin to fermented protein odor. (yuck!!’)
Fortunately we purchased alcohol for wiping down tables (had a film) and furniture (brownish patina) yuck!!!
Why did I give Drury Inn a 5 star? Great question!
A. Maybe they planned to deep clean the day we checked out! B. Maybe they are too busy to do deep clean! C. Maybe they are planning to remodel soon!
My reason is based on the delivery of “CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!” It was so “OUTSTANDING” that it more than compensated for the items 1 and 2.
However, if you would speed up your deep cleaning routine and limit which rooms you rented to animals you could elevate your satisfaction score overall.
Since you do not have dedicate locations for cats and dogs we will not stay here again, there are other rooming options where dogs, cats are not allowed! But it was a nice to meet your staff. Thanks to your team for being so nice...
Read moreFirst, I want to shout out to Drury corporate for carrying the banner in a time of hotel mediocrity. If you travel, you know that hotels have generally sucked post-covid, but Drury inns across the board have maintained their standards, in my experience. Many hotels, even higher end huge brands are nasty, disappointing, or grossly understaffed. I've never been in a Drury inn that wasn't clean, pleasant, and professional. There is still at least one hotel chain that isn't phoning it in or trading entirely on their past reputation.
This hotel is currently (Oct 2023) under renovation, so some amenities may not be available at times. We had a 1 night visit, traveling through, so did not try the pool or gym. I can't speak to their availability. The staff was friendly at all times and the management was present during breakfast asking about our stay and satisfaction. This is always the mark of a good establishment. Another sign of a good hotel was the presence of actual uniformed, professional looking hotel employed maintenance staff before breakfast. Our rooms were clean and well appointed. There were several usb plugs in the room. There was no noise from construction while we were there (10 pm-8am), the signage indicated work start at 8am. If you're sleeping late, there's another Drury across the street.
The hotel is a bit older (which is why it's being remodeled) but clean and well maintained. It is not an "inn and suites" which is important because Drury is one of a few hotels that still offer real suites (not regular rooms labeled as suites due to some half wall or bar placement). Again, there's a Drury inn and suites across the street if you need a suite. The price was solid, lower than anticipated, likely due to the inconvenience of renovation. It's very close to the highway, though we had no road noise in the room.
The parking was a bit of a challenge due to the containers, trucks, and trailers necessary for the remodel. It was a pretty full lot on this night as well. It could be a problem for newer or older drivers, particularly at night. It was navigable, but the lines and lanes were a little confusing. Not a huge deal, but in a strange lot at night, we had to slow way down and be...
Read moreOverpriced. For 250.00 I would expect wrinkle free sheets / pillow cases, a pen and a pad of paper to write notes, and sundries like bottles of lotion or mouthwash. The sheets and pillow cases were terribly wrinkled - see photos. It’s like the sheets were laid in a pile on the floor and then put on the bed or even worse someone laid in the bed and they made it without changing the sheets. Again, different room - again smelled like cedar. The room was cold and the thermostat does not keep up with the changed temperature. The room was 62; changed to 74 for quick warm up and an hour later it still not adequate. The room is 68 which is fine but it is not even reaching the changed temperature.
I also needed a pen along with a pad of paper to write notes; they didn’t provide either.
I’ve always stayed at Drury Inn and Suites, however; the hotel is being renovated until February 2025.
Thus, I stayed at this hotel. The rooms and hotel have been remodeled. The remodeling has been done well. As far as the room. Stayed in a king. The bed was like sleeping on a brick - an extra firm mattress. The bathroom has no ventilation / exhaust fan, and the shower has no light. They do not offer travel size bottles of lotion, mouthwash, shampoo, or conditioner. Instead you have a shower dispenser on the wall; the shampoo smells like soap you dispense at a gas station or like any commercial grade hand cleanser. It’s terrible. The toilet paper is cheap Scott’s toilet paper - thin commercial grade paper. The room had a cedar smell to it. I’ve learned to travel with my own sundries and air filters. Additional, the coffee machine is the cheapest maker I have ever had in a hotel room. You slide this flimsy piece of plastic that holds the coffee into the machine and take a cup to pour water.
The remodel is good but lacks creature comforts. It’s pet friendly for a 60.00 fee which should be refunded.
They offer dinner, breakfast, and drinks - all a plus, The hotel is a very clean.
There is an African American cleaning lady who is super friendly. She was very personable. She should...
