We stayed here on 10/16/25 for a night in Room 503. First, let me say that I thought this hotel had been recently renovated, so we had high hopes for a positive experience. As you can see by the below picture the carpet in our room was in terrible shape for a hotel that claims to be recently renovated. It was nasty in general and all of our family members have allergies - that thing looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. This is by no means up to the Drury standards and also if you look in the bathroom above the door the wallpaper was peeling off as well. In the hallways NO and I mean NO housekeeping was ever present and people left their Kickback trays, breakfast trays and even threw dirty towels and wash cloths outside their doors on the floor 1 room away from the main elevator for other guests to have to try and step over. This was an issue to try and get through, since we needed a luggage cart to bring in all our items for 3 adults. Do you want to touch someone’s nasty towels and food trays to get through? Not only that but leaving food trays on the floor for hours attracts bugs. Employees should be walking the hotel to see this stuff.
Once we got to the room they squeezed us in a tiny front corner by the front elevator. The hotel was over half empty and they occupied all those rooms and we had loud neighbors on both sides coming and going at all hours of the night. If your hotel is not at capacity space out the guests better, since it does not have good sound proof. The noise from the highway on those rooms is unbearable and I even brought a sound machine, my Mom slept in earplugs and we tried to leave the tv on volume 40 to try and drown out outside noise - even the parking lot you could hear every little thing. The AC was blowing and hard to regulate the room, not efficient at all. I noticed the bedding on the pullout couch was stained as well. The other addition the room should have is a desk to sit and work at for business travelers - our room did not have this. My Mom went to sit on the couch and noticed blonde hair left from a prior guest that we had to pull off - housekeeping should have cleaned better.
The girl at the check in desk was uneducated and rude. My Dad is a frequent traveler and we had enough points for a free night that is how often we travel. It was like pulling teeth she didn’t provide any info on the hotels amenities - they need to provide that, since we could never find the Kickback Bar until after we went to the desk 3 different times to ask. If you stay here it is nothing like other Drury’s and is separate from the main food area - not a big deal, but if you need to walk halfway down the first floor hallway to find it might be good info to provide guests upon check in. She also didn’t ask how many room keys we would like - we had 3 adults we would have preferred 3 keys. We stayed 4 nights at a different Drury earlier in the week and these are standard questions you need to be asking guests when people check in. The drinks are not included like all other Drury Hotels and cost $1.00, so keep that in mind as well.
Fast forward to breakfast and after not getting much sleep all 3 adults drank coffee and there were grinds in our cups and it was not well made. We sat at a breakfast table around 7:45 AM and found that it was dirty. Prime time requires more hotel staff in the area cleaning. We also didn’t like how people sat dirty plates down by the yogurts and hard boiled eggs. Please be walking the area to monitor and pay better attention. In fact, it would be a good idea to bring a rag and wipe things down.
The only positive employee at the hotel was Renee I believe her name was. She was very outgoing and did a good job at the Kickback Bar once we did find where we needed to go.
My last comment will be that we didn’t receive any sort of electronic receipt upon check out that normally comes through to your email by 3-4 AM, so you can drop your keys and get on the road in the AM in the drop box. We stopped and talked to the desk to get a...
Read moreI travel a lot, but in all my many years of doing hotels, I have somehow missed staying at a Drury Suites, and I have to say, I'd been missing out! Dollar for dollar, this is a really good deal for a hotel. It's clean, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and our room (a 2 room suite) is way cool! The bedroom is spacious with a pocket door to slide out and provide quiet. The two queen beds we had were comfy, well kept and quite easy to fall asleep on. We didn't turn on the big flat screen in there, but it's nice to have one if you need one.
The bath is really nice too. The shower has a large spray head for that standing-in-the rain feel, and the shower curtain is on a rod that curves outward for more elbow room. Shampoo and conditioner is provided in a dispenser hanging within the shower/bath. In the "living room" area, there is a very comfy sofa next to an easy chair. Both flank a small coffee table. Near the door is another table, which is fine for 2-person dining. Completing the room is a large flat screen TV, 2 drawer dresser and a desk, where one can set up a computer and work, should you bring one with you.
Finally, this suite featured a fridge, microwave and second sink, which was great for restaurant leftovers, and various snacks and such.
The hotel itself is very nice with a pool, lounge area (with TV) and some tables. When we arrived, there were folks playing cards at one of the tables. Free soft drinks and popcorn are available, and included with the hotel cost was a REAL breakfast of biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles and more all hot and ready to eat. None of this business of all carbs in the form of muffins, doughnuts, bagles, toast, etc. and little else.
At this point, I will add my two minor quibbles: I asked for real butter at one point, and was told that all they had was "whipped spread" which contained the reviled hydrogenated vegetable oil. Nope. Not having that, for sure. Really not good for your heart. So I had to go without. For as good as everything else was, the simple lack of ordinary butter really stood out, since vegetable spread is a very poor substitute. It just seemed really odd. Also odd was the lack of cream for coffee, and given what I was offered as a substitute for butter, I chose not to ask if they had half and half for the coffee.
Honestly though, when all the pluses and minuses are added up, the lack of butter or cream was really minor. I like Drury Suites a LOT and yes, I would stay here again, without hesitation. It's a good value and these days, a nice, pleasant hotel experience is a...
Read moreI have stayed at many Drury Inn & Suites and this was one of the least pleasant stays I’ve had. There were almost no guests wearing masks or social distancing during this Covid Pandemic. The staff were fairly good and I realize the difficulty of enforcing these rules but I stay in hotels most nights for work and in the last 4 months, this was the first time I’ve questioned how safe I was staying there. Further, I stayed during a period of extreme cold and the room temp was set to 65 on arrival at 4:00pm. I set the thermostat to 75 and it had increased to 69 by the time I checked out the next morning at 8:00am so I was very cold all night (only a light blanket on the bed). The food for dinner & breakfast was great but I had to deal with the crowd of guests nit wearing masks and looking at me as if I was nuts fit wearing one. I’ve not been made to feel uncomfortable wearing a mask anywhere I’ve been since the pandemic began until thus stay. The room was pretty clean from what I could tell but the carpet was heavily stained and compared to recent Drury stays in other cities - most in Missouri - this room was not as well maintained. I also know that due to ice & snow the lobby floor was wet & dirty from people coming in & out and to some extent that’s understandable but I never saw anyone trying to mop the floors or keep it clean. The only saving grace was that the employees were friendly & helpful. One other thing, because I travel a lot, I need to do laundry and I saw no maps or anything to indicate where the laundry was. It was next to the pool that at most locations required reservations and limit it to the people in one group at a time while this one only had a sign saying “no more than 50 guests at a time”. There were that many or more - many teens that were running rampant and set off my car alarm at least 10 times so they were in & out of the hotel too. Overall, had this been the first time in a Drury, I’d not book them again and I won’t be staying here next visit to Paducah area (about once a month) but will be staying at the nearby Hilton Suites or the Hampton both of which are far above the experience I...
