This is the kind of place that makes you wonder why Olive Garden exists. If people tasted true Italian cuisine, OG would be non-existent. Firstly, the service is impeccable. The owner, or at least I assume, is a sweet Italian woman who greeted me and asked me where I wanted to sit. The freshest bread was brought out to my table along with some room temperature butter, which was creamy and not too salty. The server informed me the soup of the day was tomato and didn't just tell me it was tomato, he literally described it and of course I had to have it. It did not disappoint. It's easy to mess up a tomato basil soup but this one was so flavorful and hearty. I truly needed it after the week I had. I then ordered a pesto cream pasta with shrimp and it came out shortly. Not only was the pesto absolutely delicious, flavorful, and herby, it was not overly oily. Often when you order pesto the oil separates, resulting in an oily mess for the noodles. But this one was perfect and flavorful. There was even a hint of spice with some cracked red pepper flakes. The shrimp was the true test, as often in pasta, shrimp gets overcooked and becomes rubbery. This shrimp was perfectly juicy and succulent. I was just passing through but I definitely need to come back. 10/10 recommend.

Disclaimer: we just moved here, have not yet dined here. We DID meet the restaurant owners Teresa & Rosario the other day & were impressed with their friendliness & open personalities. We WILL be visiting as soon as we can! Update: We finally made it in to dine. Prior to covid. The food was EXCELLENT! The service was excellent! UPDATE#2: We have moved & now live in Texas. However, we were in California for a family vacation. We made a visit to Teresa & Rosario at IL Giardino for dinner & conversation as their time would permit. Great to talk with our friends again & be able to enjoy the food of their home country. The meal was, once again, excellent. UPDATE #3 Our annual trip & we are visiting IL Giardino once again for an excellent dinner & wine with Teresa & Rosario. Our server Douglas was very attentive, gracious & a great conversationalist. Till next time! Ciao

We were looking for a nice Italian restaurant for a birthday dinner and cake across this place. It was highly rated and geographically convenient so we decided to check it out! So glad we did! The starters were great! We had the Bruschetta and the cheesy bread. The lasagna was savory and mild and the sausage penne was creamy and delectable. For a dessert we asked for an affogato which is a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with espresso. Delicious! Quiet and subtle, this is a gem worth discovering.

Best dinner I've ever had in Palm Springs. One block up from the strip its easily walking distance and they also have a parking lot in back. They offer outdoor seating which is nice on a cooler evening and there smaller indoor dining room makes you feel like your at home. speaking of home the owners and the staff make you feel like family. They are all so kind and the wife Teresa does all the cooking. This is truly HOMEMADE Italian food and you can taste the love in every bite. We had a reservation last Friday night and we were seated immediately. Our waiter (Dave?) was so great. He made the dinner that much better. He recommended beer and wine, made sure to save my mother in law the last Valdostana chicken dish and kept that bread coming to the table. He was so friendly and I felt like had known him for years. The food: Amazing! All of it but the favorites were the Lasagna and the Gamberi Alla Pizzicata. The Gamberi dish was what I had. The sauce is to die for, the ravioli was tender and the shrimp cooked to perfection. I scooped up every bit of sauce with the bread. We also had the calamari and the caprese salad. Again the sauce that the calamari is in is like nothing you have ever had. This was a great experience and do to costs going up on everything their prices are on the higher side but it's so worth it!! We need to support these small businesses. Next time you are in Palm Springs give...

MAKE SURE YOU CALL THE DAY OF TO CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING!! As they won’t call you and you won’t have a booking… Booked in for a group of 12 of us, called and confirmed the booking the night before. We all arrived to be told the booking wasn’t confirmed when we had confirmation emails and then confirmed by calling to ensure the tables were close together. The man who greeted us lied to us by saying he phoned us all to confirm and no one answered, we processed to explain this was not the case and after constant denial from the waiter, and us trying to explain we absolutely had confirmed via phone, and had email confirmations the waiter then said “okay it is on our end” no apology and was really rude and not understanding at all that we now had to find a place for 12 people to eat on a busy Saturday. Very disappointed as we were looking forward to the food, he didn’t give us any other alternatives just said there were plenty of places to eat. Appalling customer service and very disappointing as I imagine the food would be great as a family owned authentic...
