To whom this may concern|| On October 24, 2024 me and my wife stayed at your hotel for one night when we got to this hotel we were put in room 414. I believe we went upstairs the hotel it smelled of fresh paint and I musty odor in that room the air conditioner was filthy and so dirty that it would not even blow cold air, so I went downstairs and asked the girl to move me.|| The lady was very nice and she gave us another room. However it was not the room that I had originally paid for she gave me a room with two beds. I paid for king size room so she moved us to room 408 room 408 also had a musty smell And somewhat smell paint, but the room had not been checked. There were still orange gloves on all the fixtures in the bathrooms where they had painted. There was a bottle of something sitting on the table in the sleeping area and there was some kind of paper or something in the bottom of the tub.|| I was there for my daughter’s wedding. I’m 57 years old. I got there at 11 o’clock at night. I wanted to go to sleep. But instead, I went to my car and I got my air machine out which is the quality air machine and brought it upstairs to help kill the odor in the room Because I was tired and did not feel like changing rooms again got up the next morning went and got some coffee came upstairs got dressed. I do not smoke. My wife does not smoke. I have 20 years of drug screen to show you that I do not do drugs And about an hour after I left, I got a phone call from the lady at the desk stating that the room smelled like marijuana and that she was gonna charge my card and I explained to her the room smelled like that last night when I got there, she said it not that she came to my room at 7:30 in the morning in my room. My door was a jar. It was cracked open, which was not true because I do two things at a hotel before I go to bed, brush my teeth and make sure that the door is closed locked, and the safety switches made so nobody can come in. I know for fact my door was closed. I called and tried to work this out with the lady and she immediately becomes defensive and starts telling me that something about me and my wife aren’t married or something like that which I don’t see what difference that makes if we are if we are not so I asked her she said she would not do anything so I asked her to give me the name of her boss so I call and talk to her. The lady told me that there was nobody to talk to that. I was that she was the last person in line and that I would not get my money back and she was not gonna talk to me anymore. I asked her again where who do I talk to about this because this is not right I am not this is a party town. Panama City is a party town. I was not down there to party. I didn’t want to be down there at all to be honest with you, but I was not there to party. I was there for my daughters wedding. I was there to watch my grandson, I have in my lifetime one one DUI any kind of charge revolving around any drugs or anything else in my life and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna lay down and take $300 of my money and tell me that I smoke pot in her room while I was there when I did not if I had, I certainly would not make this big of a deal out of it. I would just suck it up and go on about my business, but that is not the case, I cannot find who to speak to this lady. I do not recall her name. She said she is the manager of that hotel but she will not give me a number to speak to somebody else about this or do anything but B argumentative and uncooperative. ||This lady does not own this hotel. She is not the final word she has a boss you have me in a town that was bike week down there and it smelled like pot from the minute. I walked in the parking lot and I told my wife to stay here and she said yeah it’ll be OK. We’re just gonna go to sleep , OK so we did and I woke up the next morning and this is the way the lady decided to treat us and I did not smoke in your room. In the story I did not hear me. I did not smoke in your room. I don’t smoke. My wife doesn’t smoke. I don’t even own a lighter people Down there and it cost me an amount of money and have you take $300 of my money while I’m there over this right here adding insult to injury start with..|| My name is Michael J Harris. I live in Rockmart Georgia. I will soon be 58 years old I drive a truck for a little bit. You cannot circumvent a DOT drug screen. You cannot get around it. You cannot cheat on it. That is not possible. I’ve driven a truck since I was 19 years old, I do not have one failed drug screen in the history of my career not one and I am not only upset about my money, but this has been very insulting to me. I have lived my life as positive and as good of a person as I can. Me and my wife are not drug users. I didn’t do it and I will not just roll over on this Because one of my friends is a regional manager for a hotel chain and I know how this works, but trying to say that I smoked in your room with all the other things you had going on down there with all the other people bike week all the young people down there already smelled like pot in the parking lot but yet you’re gonna charge me 300 bucks for saying I smoke in the room I do not even smoke! This is unacceptable and I do not know who to contact because the lady will not give up the information so she will not allow me to plead my case to anybody that matters. She says she is the final decision and I cannot accept that I’m sorry .|| In closing, I would like to ask that you think about this from my point of view and filter in the fact of my age the place I was at the event that was going on and the event. I was there for a three year my grandson. It’s not only taking my money it’s also an insult to my character, and really her whole demeanor. This is been a slap in the face because I tried to talk to the lady. I tried with her and explained to her that that was not us and she just became obstinate and argumentative to the point where I was just not gonna talk to her anymore, she would not give me the number to call and talk to the person above her. That is her boss so my hands are tied now and she thinks that she’s just gonna strong on my Money now had she gave me the number to talk to her boss? Maybe we could’ve worked out we couldn’t have a lot more peace with the decision if I was allowed to talk to somebody that actually made decisions besides her.. || Thank you for your attention to this. I am hopeful that we can come to agreement that will satisfy both parties. I paid them for the room the night before there should’ve been no extra charges on my account and I would appreciate it if somebody could please get back to me or my wife either of the two numbers to let me know exactly where we stand on this because I will go to the next level. I’m willing to do that because this is not right And she is not right and people cannot just take your money on a whim and be unreasonable like that because it’s Panama City Florida and you just deal with a bunch of kids down there all the time so you think you can treat everybody like crap and that’s not the case not me anyway. || ...

This is a FEMA evacuation hotel. Literally it was like staying in a dog kennel. The first room we were given made my eyes water it stunk so bad of dog pee masked with cheap cleaner. The second room the carpets were a little bit better smell. Our feet were black though after walking around the room still and the room was incredibly damp. The staff was helpful but only so much they could do. The TVs barely worked (cheap cable split job that only allowed normal cable to occupy 2/3 of the screen). The fridge either froze everything or didn’t cool at all. The shower finish had worn down to the material from whatever cleaning chemical they use. There were 2 pluses. One the manager on duty did what he could. Two the beds were somewhat comfortable. Many better options...

Sadly I had to give 1 to leave review. We booked 2 rooms 4 months in advance and had confirmation of reservation. It was the Panama City bike rally and we got to the hotel to ck in and we told by the lady at the desk they tried to run our card that am and it was not valid and tried calling us and then booked our rooms to someone else as they were full. Note the same day booking rate was nearly double. We had no missed call nor after calling my cc company was there any attempt to run the card. We had to ride 50 miles to get a room.
