The first night we were there the couple in the next room hosted a party and decided 0300 was a perfect time to have a fight. It woke my family up from a sound sleep because it was so loud and apparently the couple were beating on each other as our walls were shaking. There is NO front desk staff overnight to handle these situations. Literally the front desk has a metal pull down to close off the front desk from guests. Our second night someone set off the fire alarm and we were once again disturbed from our sleeping. The fire department took 25 minutes to respond (this apparently happens quite often) and turned off alarms. The firefighters were seemingly angry as this happened at 0100 and they were not speaking to guests to ensure they were alright either. I found a cigarette in the stairwell so that was probably this issue or maybe the pot coming from the 3rd floor where we were. The next day we were greeted by PCB police arresting an individual at the hotel which definitely gave the feel of being unsafe given this was the 3rd incident in 48 hours. Our floor consistently smelled of marijuana/meth every night.
This hotel advertises as an extended stay with fridge/microwave/stove. Extended stays I have stayed in on vacation also offer a set of dishes/silverware/cups, etc. This was not the case here and I went down to see if staff might have a plastic spoon since they offered a “coffee” bar in the lobby. The desk clerk on duty was rude and asked what I wanted from the side office where the cameras are and when I didn’t respond she lazily got up and stated, “We don’t serve breakfast” to which I stated I asked about a spoon since you serve coffee and she looked at the coffee bar and stated no. Finally, the day we checked out the front desk still had the metal door pulled down and another front desk clerk was getting her coffee from the coffee bar and asked was I checking out and I said yes. Apparently it wasn’t time for her to open the metal pulldown so I had to check out without a receipt much less a thank you for staying with us.
If you have taken the time to read my review then just know that while budget friendly it is NOT an appropriate place for a military family at all. It is in an unsafe area especially in the evening. There is NO onsite staff to assist you and it felt more like a flop house for criminals. I almost forgot about the roaches. Definitely need to work on their...
Read moreDay Staff was preoccupied and told us she would speak to the manager on our behalf because we needed to leave a day earlier but because of the hurricane booking wouldn't let us cancel and reschedule. The hotel was full! It left us no choice but to pay for the additional day she said manager possibly would refund some and would let us know. We never heard anything. There were ants and they addressed them but made us feel like it was our fault! Everytime we walked into our room it smelled like marijuana. It may be legal in this state but it's not where we come from so it wasn't great for our kids!! Literally no amenities for anyone staying..fyi! We had no wifi and they said it was the weather?? When we went to check out it was before 3...we had been out all day but stopped in a final time to use the bathroom as we figured we had to pay for it anyway. The manager sent the maintenance guy out to the front desk to tell me since it was past 11 they couldnt do any reimbursement when I explained the situation as to us leaving early. When I questioned the logic he got the manager who was very rude and said she was never told by her employee and it was my fault that I waited around to be told (which was exactly what the employee said to do) and she said if we would have been out by 11 the checkout time she would have refunded our money. We had been packed up and out since 9am!! We just were hanging out in town because we thought there was no option but to pay!! She refused to help us even with all the issues!! Do not stay here unless you just need a place to sleep, smoke weed, and...
Read moreWe stayed overnight, and booked our room using Priceline. Everything was asked about it being pet friendly and if there were extra charges. Same thing when we checked in. They said it was, gave us the hotel bill, and I signed and paid for it on my credit card. THEN, got home, and they've added another charge I did not authorize of $72 for pets. WHAT??? I asked, the clerk said nothing, and the bill didn't list anything. And I only authorized the price they had on the booking of just over $167. Charging something I did not authorize later, a fee they did not state, nor did Priceline is OUTRAGEOUS, even criminal if you ask me. Not to mention the room had a stove top, microwave, and a full refrigerator. BUT, it did NOT have pots and pans to use on the stove, nor plates or silverware. Who travels with cooking and eating utensils? Then, the bed was like the mats you had in PE on the floor. It was so uncomfortable we all woke up with backaches. Not to mention, around midnight the fire alarm in the place went off, and everyone had to evacuate outside in the cold, including people with babies. The place smelled like marijuana so strong you could almost get a contact high, and this in a NO smoking hotel. All in all, this was a disaster, and the place was completely not worth the time. If you add that extra fee they're trying to charge, I could have stayed in a hotel on the beach for about the same amount instead of this one far out from the beach. If you're looking for a place to stay, stay away from this one. If I could give it ZERO out...
