The Trump Hotel's location is akin to a distant oasis in the Las Vegas desert. While some hotels on the Strip practically spill into the neon-lit streets, Trump's abode stands aloof, as if it's whispering, "You're here for luxury, darling, not convenience." But let's be honest: When you're in Vegas, convenience matters. The Strip is the heartbeat of the city—the place where the action unfolds, the fountains dance, and the dice roll. Trump Hotel's distant perch means you'll need to summon a taxi or embark on a pilgrimage-like walk just to join the party. And who wants to miss out on the spectacle of Elvis impersonators, showgirls, and the occasional bachelor party?
Step into a Trump Hotel room, and you might wonder if you've stumbled into a parallel universe where time stopped in the early 2000s. The decor is a curious blend of "grandma chic" and "corporate boardroom." Heavy drapes, gilded mirrors, and plush carpets evoke memories of your grandmother's living room, complete with a floral-patterned couch that has seen better days. The color palette—shades of beige, gold, and taupe—feels like a sepia-toned filter applied to reality. And don't get me started on the bedspreads; they're so ornate, I half-expected them to whisper bedtime stories about stock market crashes. For a hotel that claims to be luxurious, the lack of modernity is jarring. Where are the sleek lines, the minimalist elegance, the USB ports that don't require a treasure map to find?
The staff at Trump Hotel is courteous, but courtesy alone doesn't cut it in the hospitality industry. When I asked for recommendations on nearby attractions, I received answers that could rival a cryptic crossword puzzle. "Ah, well, you see, the Bellagio has fountains, and the Venetian has gondolas, and the Mirage has a volcano, and the Wynn has... well, it's just fancy." Thanks for the riddles, but I'd prefer straightforward advice. Perhaps the staff is too busy polishing the gold-plated fixtures to notice guests' needs. Or maybe they're secretly moonlighting as Sphinxes.
Let's play a game: Imagine you're standing at the Trump Hotel entrance, suitcase in hand. Now pivot 180 degrees, and there it is—the Circus Circus, beckoning like a neon-lit siren. Yes, the same Circus Circus that's often the punchline of Vegas jokes. Yet, even the Circus Circus has an advantage: It's right on the Strip. You can stumble out of your room, and within seconds, you're amidst the cacophony of slot machines, Elvis impersonators (yes, again), and the scent of desperation (or is it cotton candy?). So, dear traveler, save your hard-earned dollars, avoid the dated interiors, and explore the gems that Las Vegas truly offers. The Venetian, the Wynn/Encore, even the Circus Circus—they're all waiting, ready to embrace you with open arms. As for Trump Hotel? Well, it's a bit like that distant relative who insists on showing you their stamp collection while the party...
Read moreWow, my wife and I just had an unbelievably bad experience at Trump International Hotel. We booked our hotel room one month in advance excited for our first experience at Trump's hotel. Our flight got in around 8 p.m. and we arrived to the hotel at around 9:00 p.m. As we got in the "check-in" line, we noticed that the people at the check-in counters we having a hard time checking in.||||When it was our turn to check-in, we approached the counter and Desiree greeted us. Initially it sounded promising, but within a minute Desiree let us know that our "room was not available" and that there was no definitive time frame for when it would be available. After asking her what was going on, she said that while our check in time is 3:00 p.m. that does not ensure that a room will be available to us (even though it was 9:45 p.m. at this point). She then told us sarcastically that she could cancel our room at no charge and that we could go find somewhere else to stay if we like. After asking what was going on and when our room would be ready, Desiree became upset and called security over.||||We asked to speak to a manager - Fernando - who was already speaking to another couple who was going through the same experience. When he came to us he let us know that the rooms were not available and that they may not be ready until after midnight. In fact, other people had been waiting over 5 hours for their rooms. Fernando then explained that Korean Air had a conference there and had done an ultra late checkout on a lot of its rooms and that the contract with Korean Air was more important to the Hotel than any of the customers that were now without a room. When pressing Fernando on how that was possible, it became evident that despite knowing about this request for late checkout by Korean Air personnel in advance, Trump Hotel and its staff did nothing to notify any of its impacted incoming guests that their rooms would not be available for them to stay in and that they would not be doing anything to try to help their guests. So, were were told we were guest number 15 in line to get a room with no rooms currently available.||||To add insult to injury, there was no effort to apologize or to make things right except for a $50 food voucher. The approach to the situation was abysmal leaving many people without anywhere to stay late at night despite having reservations. And they didn't really care.||||I was looking forward to supporting a DJT establishment, but this was...
Read moreHow is this Trump hotel in Vegas a 5 star hotel??? With all the issues with MGM hotels' website issues, I chose to stay here at Trump. We originally booked in a suite but upgraded to a penthouse suite. What a huge mistake in my part.
We were given room number 6107. As soon as we walked in we smelled moldy urine smell. Room had AC running at 64 degrees to try to clean up the smell. I told my GF there is no way we are staying here. We turned the AC off and she stayed in the room while I went down.
I went to the hotel check in line again. This time the employee was not pleasant. Kinda gave me a small attitude like I was being picky. She told me another room would be available in 2-3 hours. So we stayed in the room while the new room was being cleaned. While we were waiting in the room, there were 4 sets of employees who came to the room and they all KNEW this smell existed in this room. They all smelled it right away. The smell came from the 2 bathrooms in the Suite. It was like the toilets had overflowed onto the floors but from both bathrooms.
Ok, let's say the smell didn't exist. The room and the hotel is so old! So very old! There was a DVD player in the room! (See pic) DVD player! There was no USB plug or even an AC outlet available next to the bed. The mattress was old and it was not comfortable. Master bathroom setup was like from the 90's playboy era, just cheesy and not useful like the toilet and bidet room with glass door. Strangely there are trains that drive by near the hotel and for some reason they blast the horn. We stayed on the 63rd floor but we can hear it so loud even late at night! The door from bedroom to living area could not even close! I cannot make stuff up like this! This is just one old hotel that needs a major update!
I could go on and on but you get the point.
I thought maybe because of the hotel name people didn't stay here but it is not the name but just how old and the bad service that keeps people away! I will never stay here again! Who gave this hotel a 5 star...
