I had the worst experience in this place. This a long review, you can skip to the last parts to see what disappointed me the most. My iPhone 6s Plus is about 3 years old, everything start acting up. The camera has problem focusing, the battery drains very fast, the speaker on both ends are very quiet(I mean you can’t hear people on the other line kind of quiet), and the phone lags till the point that it freezes up sometimes. I went to this apple store to see if I can get some help with all these problems. The check in staff told me my wait time is about 4 hours, it was about 4pm at the time, so I checked in anyway. The staff told me to come back around 8:05 pm would be ok. I then went home, it was about 4:10pm, I started to back up my phone to my computer. I was half way doing it, I got the automatic message from apple saying that they are ready to see me, it was only 4:30pm at the time. I had to stop the back up process to go to the store, so I wouldn’t miss my spot as the message informed me. When I arrived at the store I already got two more messages basically telling me that I had missed my chance to see a technician. I went to the check in spot again telling the guy the situation, I was telling him that I was told the wait time is 4 hours that’s why I went home to do my back up, but I didn’t expect to get call back within 30 minutes. He said, the time they told me was only an estimate. They have to check me in again and the wait time is 3 hours. I was a little agitated, I said I know it was an estimate, but 4 hours and 30 minutes is too much of a difference. I said it was fine if he check me in again, I would just wait there this time. He then made the effort to put me in the next appointment. (Thanks him for that). The technician talked to me, ask some basic questions, then start running tests on my phone. She opened my camera on the phone and verified that the camera does have issue focusing, the picture keep jumping around. She then informed me that I need to update my phone, maybe that would fix the camera issue. So I did. After the phone finished updating, it won’t let me us go to the next step, it was stuck at the connecting to network screen. She told me the touch screen might not working, so all the problems with the phone is because of that. She said I need to replace the screen and told me the price for it (about 160 plus taxes). I was 100% sure it is not the problem with the touch screen, I told her if she remember she was able to use my phone to take pictures earlier, the touch screen was working perfectly fine at the time, then she realized that I was right. She told me, now she had to factory reset the phone. She asked me if it was ok, I told her that I didn’t think I had any other options since my phone was stuck. After the reset, the phone back to work again. The touch screen was ok, camera was semi ok the speakers were still the same. I asked her, if the camera is not working do I have to replace it? And I have to pay to get it replaced? What she told me later kind left me speechless. She told me “Yes, since the warranty only cover one year, you have to pay out of your pocket.” I then asked her “so, you are telling me, your phone’s camera can only work for a year.” She said “yes, that’s why our warranty only covers one year, and you are very lucky that the phone is still working for it being used for 3 years already.” I didn’t know what to response to that afterwards. One thing that I know is that I will never use another apple phone again. Now I have a blank phone, luckily I backed up all my photos on google photos, but I lost all my saved messages. I was more disappointed than mad. One of the sales person told me I could trade in my phone for 150 dollars if I want, and put the money down for anything else I want to buy from the store, and he was proudly informed me that Apple is becoming one of the first trillion dollar company in the world. That left me even...
Read moreI recently visited the Fashion Show mall at 10am opening. First time I've been there. Huge place. Found it to be overall wheelchair friendly, unless an elevator in the concourse is out of service, which happened to me. Wheelchairs and escalators don't mix. Fortunately I can walk and roll, but as a result of the unusual workout from my mall travels my thigh muscles hurt for the next couple days. No pain no gain as they say and I must've gained a lot.
My goal was to visit the Apple Fashion Show where I had an appointment at the Genius Bar. I was 30 minutes late having to reroute my path due to the broken elevator. A very professional woman helped me and ten minutes later she had repaired my wife’s iPhone. The charging port can get clogged with dust that prevents the charging cord from locking in place to work. She unclogged the phone.
Now it was lunchtime and I ordered a cheeseburger and fries from Johnny Rockets restaurant. Pretty good food and service. Bit pricey, especially the bottled water (phew), but that's the name of the game these days.
Many people were shopping in the mall by this time. Stores were open, well stocked, and all personnel I met were pleasant and helpful. I had pleasant conversation with a couple different mall customers.
My ride was scheduled to pick me up at 2pm. I tried the Rideshare location in a drive area outside Dillards soon finding out from paratransit that the location is no longer in use. I now had to go a long way, past the northeast corner of the mall to a Rideshare location near a valet along Las Vegas Blvd.
I found the main security office, spoke to a giant of a kind man to help me get to the Rideshare location by 2pm. He agreed to help, time ticked by, and eventually a man showed up and pushed me in my wheelchair. I estimate a quarter mile trip. Paratransit arrived 3 minutes after the man who pushed me left. I realized it would have been a good idea to offer a tip to the man for his most excellent work, especially this being Vegas and all. Thank you to my not tipped hero.
Overall my experience at the Fashion Show mall was extraordinary! Brings back memories of the days when malls were popular, full of people, and in...
Read moreIt was terrible experience visiting the store today. Website says the store opens at 10am. We arrived there at 10am but it actually opened at 11am. My daughter wanted to purchase a new laptop but was told to make an appointment for 11:45, and will receive a text message to go into the store. at 12noon, since we didn't receive any text, we approached to staffs by the entry, and they let us in to the store. After 10 minutes waiting inside the store, a male staff came to us with no name badge. About a minute introduction about the laptop we were interested in, he said that we need to see "a genius" for advice, and asked us to wait outside store for 30 to 45 minutes for a text message. Again, we didn't receive any text for over ONE hour. we, then went to the front door to ask again, and was told that our appointment was pushed back to 4:45pm. When I questioned why we didn't receive any text to notify us instead of letting us endless waiting, this staff named "Ish" accused me for raising voice instead of apologize for lack of communication. He continued to say that we were walk in customer and won't be able to guarantee any appointment. I totally understand that but why no one could send a message to let us know the appointment was delayed instead of letting us kept waiting, and Ish, as a staff represents APPLE company with such a poor customer service skills will ruin company's image. I don't believe Apple retail store has the intension to have such employee to work for the...
