Pentwater Dari Creme — Restaurant in Pentwater Township

You have GOT to check this place out!It's amazing! This used to be one of my family's favorite spots to stop for ice cream on our trips to Pentwater but a year or so ago they changed the name and everything went downhill, so we stopped going there. Last week we went on vacation to Pentwater and discovered that it was under new management. So we decided to give them a shot. It's like we've gone back in time! They brought back SO many of our favorites. I am a huge fan of flavor burst ice cream cones and they had those. I also tried one of the nerd flurries. Wow do you get a lot of bang for your buck! It was overflowing in the cup. My husband goes crazy for their Creme de Menthe malts and Mackinaw Island Fudge hard ice cream. And the kids loved Superman and Blue Moon, the girl behind the counter even put little candy eyes on the kids cones. They sure got a kick out of that. This place had so much variety that we can't wait to go back to try them all. We also had lunch there one day. We had hotdogs, fries and mozzarella sticks. It were very yummy; as good as any sit down restaurant. There was even a mini golf course that the kids loved so much we went twice. I can not recommended this place enough! Who closes a window 3 minutes prior to closing time with an entire family standing at the window? Pentwater Dari Creme. Must be doing really well. Lady wouldn't even look at us through the window likely due to the shame she felt seeing my youngest ones heart break. Don't know what irritated me more. Her failure to look me in the eyes or me watching her insanely obese friend behind the counter lapping his giant ice cream cone up like a horse. What a joke.

Days later I saw they are listed for sale. I hope to God someone good picks them up as we make a visit every year to Pentwater and from what I saw the businesses need a lesson in etiquette. So the ice cream was as expected except for the ability to dip a medium cone. Only small cones were able to be dipped in chocolate or cherry coating. Also, disappointed in the Loaded Chipotle chicken fries. While the flavor was good. The portion was inconsistent with previous orders and the value was poor. $7.50 for a small paper container was far less than a previous portion that had us ordering agsin. Ice cream was average ice cream fair, slightly higher priced than comparable places outside of Pentwater. Atmosphere- outdoor seating.
