Oldewick Post — Local services in Pentwater Township

My friend, her family, and I were shopping in the store and looking around. I did not see the small signs that said no photos. That is 100% on me, and I was taking photos because a lot of the items were very cute and I wanted to show my family. Workers kept coming up and asking us if we were doing ok and needed anything very passively aggressively. We did not think anything of it until the owner came over and asked “are you videotaping the store?”. I, not realizing photos were not permitted, responded that I was taking pictures of things I thought were cute or interesting and she seemed dissatisfied with my answer . She could have politely come up and asked me not to take photos and of course I would have apologized and stopped. Overall, my expirence was not as bad as some others seem to have been, but we were certainly rushed out of the store, felt unwelcome, and will not...

We have been to this shop in the past, thus the visit today. We have had good experiences in the past, but today with two visits that being the first and last! The owner for whatever reason was not friendly or talkative. I tried twice to converse to no avail. Now for the beverages it was basically espresso run for 8 seconds (coffee) and the hot milk not any froth or body at all. A large $9.00 disappointment. This was my 3rd and final time ever stepping foot in this shop. I absolutely love supporting small businesses, but also have no tolerance for rude behavior. Every time I have gone in the owner is so short and rude to me....for no reason at all. On a side note, the younger girl working the counter was over the top sweet and so very helpful. She is a gem of a person and I hope she gets treated better then the customers. I hope the owner has a change of heart to realize when people drive over an hour away to support small shops, her attitude is sending them...
